I wonder how many players were in the first allocation...
Uhmm... here's the 720p version from playsyde. Man, any amateur knows that playsyde posts in 640x360 and 1280x720.

Anyway, I think it looks pretty good. The gameplay looks solid but pretty standard for an fps. I expect this will be a pretty good game but I don't think it is a killer app. I predict an average of 87/100 on reviews.
I think he was trying to say that he doesn't need more games because he doesn't have time to play all the games on the systems he already owns.
It's a valid point for many people, if you don't have time to play the games you want to play on one console, why buy another?
I'm afraid I have to disagree with the graphics downgrade comment. Every indication so far leads to the ps3 and 360 being very comparable graphics-wise and every cross-platform game I've seen has been indistiguishable from each other.
Hmm.. definitely filing this one under rumour but, to be honest, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised especially With Metal Gear on the original xbox and Kojima's little hints dropped along the way:
Kojima says 360 could run MGS4

Network play. Some people have significant others that enjoy networked gaming.
One advantage of the points system over a straight money system is that the points cards occasionally go on sale.
About a month ago Futureshop (canadian electronics box store) had a sale where their 1250 pts cards were 25% off (14.99, reg. 19.99). This was basically like saying everything on the live marketplace is 25% off. I of course bought a couple and still have points left so future purchases on xblm will also be '25% off'.
Food for thought...
I run a business in Custom Home Theatre and as such have done tons of research on both formats including extensive demos for both formats on my own 'not too shabby' home theatre setup (Optoma HD81 1080 projector, 133" Stewart Firehawk screen, NAD Master Series and PSB Platinum speakers - 7 speaker setup with two dual 12" woofers.)
I believe that this 'magical something' that is included with HD-DVD would be Thompson's Film Grain Technology, the inclusion of this techn...
Well... MGS made it onto the original Xbox when the Sony guys said that would never happen... ever.
And Square-Enix already has FFXI on the console and a 360 exclusive coming up aswell so they certainly are not shunning the system...
While I can understand your opinion, I think phrases like "will never happen... ever." should be saved for 1st party games only. Even then, I believe many 1st party Sega games are presently being published for non-Sega consoles s...
The report says:
"In view of the anticipated market growth beginning in 2007, we have initiated the development of several new titles including the latest in the “Resident Evil” and “Devil May Cry” series intended for next-generation game consoles."
and later it says:
"Capcom’s platform strategy is to introduce multi-platform products in order to increase sales, thereby maximizing profit. We will also invest aggressively in the development of so...
linux is an operating system like windows or mac os. Yellow Dog linux is just a variant of the operating system.
And homebrew hacking? One thing I really worry about for Sony is that there is a lot of really smart linux guys out there and one of the greatest features of linux is it's a free environment. Take really smart linux guys accustomed to free environments and combine them with a closed, pay-for environment and... Well, how long before they totally compromise the system?
Homebrew? Greatest thing to happen to the industry. Hacking? Worst thing to happen to the industry.
How a controller feels in your hands is purely a subjective thing. The size and shape of your hands also make everybody's choice completely unique.
Having said that, I must admit that I had essentially ignored console gaming until the s-controller for the xbox came out and the 360 controller is even better (for me).
Personally, I refuse to use a controller with convex analoque sticks which unfortunately eliminates the entire playstation line...
And just like hdmi you have to search to find the sets that support full 1080p input. I know that samsung has supported 1080p component and hdmi input since last spring and there was a flurry of 1080 product announcements at CEDIA this year also. There is an awful lot of misinformation and misunderstanding out there concerning HD signals. I'll try and address it here.
You have to understand all the different variations of HD. First there is standard industry framerates. 24/48,...
Consoles are sold at a loss but accessories are bread and butter. They are profit makers.
A good rule of thumb for decent functional hdmi cables is to expect to pay about $10/ft but this is of course skewed here since one end is a multiport so it is kind of specialized.
There are only 2 reasons for hdmi on 360 at present.
1 - 1080p game support. At present there aren't any games that support this resolution.
2 - 1080p movie support. Component wil...
HDMI is a digital sytem not analogue. Ones and zeros are the only thing it carries. Either the cable functions or it doesn't. Saying a monster hdmi cable produces deeper blacks is like saying that the number one is way deeper on a monster cable than on a generic cable. It simply doesn't make sense.
Resistance is the enemy here with these high frequency transmissions. The resistance goes up with frequency and a lot of data needs to flow down an hdmi cable to support 1080p60...
This is the type of post we get when a fanboy reads something that is blatantly opposed to what he believes. Complete denial.
