From what I have read, the lag is 150 to 200ms depending on how complicated the gesture is. Here is a video of reaction time with a stopwatch. We've all tried this one and I can say from experience that, just like in the video, it is very rare for it to be under 110ms (0.11s) and that is when we are concentrating HARD on being as fast as we possibly can be. I don't know, maybe I am being too lenient but 0.15 to 0.2s doesn't seem like an issue to me. I mean, if lag is such a bi...

PS3 isn't the 3rd fastest selling console anymore. At this point the PS1 has overtaken the PS3. At the end of it's first quarter, fourth fiscal year (june 30th) the PS1 was at 37.3M. At the end of it's second quarter, fourth fiscal year (Sept 31), the PS1 was at 43.1M which is more than the PS3 is projected to sell by Dec 31 let alone the second quarter. By the time Dec 31 rolled around, the PS1 was at 50.7M. The PS3 has been overtaken by the PS1 whi...
@Pennywise
$55 million is about 20,000 3d capable tvs and bluray players, hardly even noticable compared to regular tv sales especially if you consider that it is over three months!
I agree, Wii fit was and still is a giant for Nintendo. Kinect seems tailor made to deliver fitness games and fitness games appeal strongly to the casual demographic that MS seems to be chasing.
Kinect adventures can have four players... It's a casual game but then that is the market they are chasing with kinect...
I'd say MS needs a price cut waaaaaay more than they need natal. I thought they were overdue for a price cut when the ps3 slim was released. They are in their fifth year and they have only dropped a hundred bucks on the msrp for crying out loud. The ps3 dropped 300 dollars to half it's original msrp and released a product revamp in it's third year! Come on already!
Wow, whos spinning here? Every point you brought up was spin. I'm not talking coulda woulda shoulda here, I'm talking cold hard numbers right off of Sony's own site. By the end of their fourth fiscal year the PS1 sold 32.82M and the PS3 sold 35.7M. Period. That's a cold hard fact. No coulda woulda shoulda about it. In it's fifth fiscal year the PS1 sold another 21.6M bringing it to 54.42M total. The ps3 is expected to sell 14M in it's fifth fiscal year which wi...
"Did you know that the PS3 is selling better then the ps1 did at the same time during its life span?"
Actually, this isn't really true anymore. By the fourth fiscal year the PS1 had sold 32.82M and the PS3 sold 35.7M units but at the end of the first quarter in the fifth year the PS1 had sold 37.32M. Considering the PS1 wasn't even available outside of japan until the third quarter of it's second fiscal year plus Sony's 'shortages' of lat...
For Microsoft, this whole generation has been about evening the third party playing feild I think. MS may be paying only to get timed exclusive content but it also gets the developer working on their platform which many weren't willing to bother doing last generation essentially giving sony free exclusives. Once the developer is familiar with the hardware, it is unlikely that they will make an exclusive title again... Not without a dollar value attached to it atleast. Even companies l...
I think that at $299 Sony is still loosing money on the PS3 which is supported by the fact that the games division lost almost a billion dollars last year. I think Sony has been pushing hard to get their 40nm chips out to try and make the ps3 profitable and I think they are having issues getting production up to speed and until that is up and running at acceptable levels, they are making as few of the current model as possible and this will help minimize the losses they are taking on the cur...
Is it me or was the lists of sub 720p games loaded with many proven hits and exclusives while the lists of over 720p games was loaded with shovelware and mini-games? boogey bunnies? Sudoku? come on. Give me metal gear, halo, call of duty, etc, etc any day.
720p is clearly the sweet spot for both consoles with some notable sub 720p exceptions.
From Fortune Magazine for 2009
Microsoft
$60.4 billion revenue
$17.8 billion profit
Sony
$76.9 Billion revenue
$985 Million loss
So, Sony is a larger company but it is loosing money
Edit: Assets are a liability for a company. They represent a loss due to upkeep/maintenance, capital costs, devaluation etc. which is reflected in the numbers above. Even though Sony has more revenue, they still lost money because ...

Edit @natsu: here's the thread, talk about ravenous bashing!

I kind of liked the format too but I think the lower sales of BC2 could also be partly attributed to there being 2 exclusives + FF13 in the same month which they didn't touch on...
Sony was able to keep up with demand in 2009 when the ps3 was selling what? Over a million a month? On a brand new manufacturing line? Now they can't meet the demand of 315k a month? After they have had 7 months to iron out inefficiencies on the manufacturing line?
Sony is a hardware company. Either they are admitting that they suddenly turned into manufacturing imbeciles or they are playing the Nintendo Game where they pretend to not be able to keep up with demand, you kno...
@ inveni0
I was talking about the pre-alhpha and pre-beta photos and those are the differences that I saw.
@MrAnonymous
Look closely, the three rectangles are still there... :)
this looks like the type of game move was made for.
How did this get approved? talk about misguided...
@inveni0
I can see some physical changes made on the gun model, not just the textures. For one, on the pre-alpha, on the gunstock under the character's thumb below the four screws there is a slot shaped indentation and below it the gunstock widens a little. On the pre-beta there is a ridge and indentation that encircles the four screws instead and the slot indentation is gone and below the gunstock widens significantly more than seen on the pre-alpha. Also, the top of the sc...

"not super demanding"
not super demanding on the gpu but SUPER demanding on the cpu. Try a large size map with 6 or more starting civilizations at the king or emperor difficulty level and you'll see that your computer will start to chug by the time you reach the steam age. btw, it isn't until you reach the king difficulty level that the computer opponents don't have a handicap against you, in cheiftan, warlord and prince difficulty levels th...
