For the record, Forza 3 AND GT5 are video games. If you want to play a real simulator then iRacing on PC is pretty much the only show in town. It's a subscription based simulator that professional drivers that race in the real world use as a training tool. Just look at their testimonials!

The ps3 is selling great and will continue to sell but it sold 550k and 300k it's first two weeks and that's the first two weeks after the introduction of the slim and a price cut... It's looking good for probably around 1.2-1.3M during the slim's first month which is great but 1.8M from here on out? I could maybe see a million a month through to december.
It'll still never be as fast, reliable and lag free as a wired connection.
ps3 is selling great but those are google search volume trends not sales.
I agreed with too human, haze and red steel but games like heavenly sword, fable, doom 3 and re5?!?! Come on! How the hell Lair didn't make that list I will NEVER know? Others that come to mind are Genji:Days of the Blade and Ninety-Nine Nights. Those were stinkers too.

The home theatre guys would probably think about trading in their phat ps3's since the slim bitstreams and is quieter. I'm actually thinking about picking up a slim myself for exactly this reason. (but I'm keeping my phat for its backwards compatibility)
You can now get an Xbox 360 Elite AND a Playstation 3 Slim for the cost of a launch Playstation 3... I would bet that virtually EVERYONE that has commented on N4G is atleast and average gamer if not a hardcore gamer. Can anyone think of a reason to not own both of these consoles right now?
I'm going to have to agree with bmw69... vgcharts has been within a few percent of npd, mediacreate and charttrack for a while now and earlier in the year when both ms and sony announced their ytd sales vgcharts was no more than a couple hundred thousand off which is actually quite excellent considering their smaller sample sizes. Don't forget that npd, mediacreate and charttrack are statistical estimates aswell just with larger sample sizes.
excellent review... only thing I found surprising was the slightly longer load times for BDs... pretty minor when you consider that the ps3 FINALLY bitstreams though! I am a home theatre fanatic so this is exciting for me!
I think the elite is fine but the pro shouldn't be discontinued and kept at the $249 price and the arcade should now be $179. 60gb and 120gb drives should then be $70 and $120 respectively. OR eliminate the pro, reduce the arcade to $179 and offer the 60GB drive for $70 essentially keeping the pro alive through upgrade...
