Oops I wrote that first part before I read the article and forgot about after and when I posted (and when I edited derp). I just assumed it was XIII-3 then. Yes this is a very surprising change for the series.
I'm going to assume that Square will probably screw up with it even on its own merits, though I don't want to be right. I'd like them do to at least something right for once these days.
Why is everyone acting so surprised and dramatic? Square said this announcement was coming on this day multiple time.
It seems Square is concerned with redeeming the main XIII series more than anything. XIII's story was mostly unremarkable and overly melodramatic, but servicable while the combat system was decent (if a tad too streamlined), but the linear design didn't do this kind of RPG any favors at all and was the worst negative in the game.

The adopt children thing was part of their GameJam feature, which was stuff they wanted to add to the game. This isn't surprising is my point.
It's a way to make homes more interesting, I guess. I'm not going to complain about new features, especially if optional.
I'm sure they're working on something along Dawnguard or that as well. This comes across as more of a side-project as I see it.
I would not mind pre-determined lots. It would be very difficult to program the ability to create homes anywhere and if there are enough lots it won't be at all bad. Though I expect someone to try modding a build-anywhere feature in.
The Elder Scrolls: Harvest Moon Edition!
Joking aside this does look like a step up from the stuff on the Nexus in that you can custom build a house and it adds new features. Not that cheap player home DLC in Oblivion that could easily have been a mod. Come to think of it the new programming in this should be able to open up a lot of new possibilities for modding.

I'm no fan of this either, but I at least respect other opinions. But this is the internet, I suppose. Everyone needs to belittle everyone in order to feel superior and cultured.
Read it and this IP barely deserves to exist in its original form.
But seriously what could this be? A hentai dating sim? No thanks. Good thing this article is blatantly trolling.
This just made my day. TWEWY was excellent and a sequel is amazing news, if only for the chance to finally b*tch-slap Joshua.
Unlike ME3, DA2 had some redeeming elements in the story even if several parts were a bit iffy. Most gameplay elements were poorly excecuted as well, even if I liked some of the things they were going for. The devs only had less than a single year of development for the game so I can manage to give them benefit of the doubt for most of DA2's faults.
There's some hope here, but if Bioware screws this up I'm done with them.
While I'm sure EA had made some bad decisions for ME3's development that hurt the game in terms of budgets and time... the weak story and writing and stupidly concieved plot points, which were ME3's main faults, are soley on Bioware.
Really? I can think of a few successful franchises with a strong female lead off the top of my head.
Repost much? There's already an article link on this.
Actually I've just seen the video. Rather ineffective to just make it a backround during scripture and the passing of bread and wine. Many may not get the point.
I'd like to see a presentation with personal narration on how it illustrates its themes. Then again to get the whole thing you'd have to sit for a few hours, which most would not even consider doing. A deliberate playthrough would need to be put into a wisely edited video to work.
Spirituality is a very flexible thing as I see it. It does not require established and popular ideas like religion, though they are both just as valid.
Journey is a giant inclusive allegory for life (and all it generally entails) and spirituality. It can be interpreted in a number of ways by a wide variety of religions and perspectives of faith.
And yeah the people I dislike the most in dealings with spirituality and religion are people who tell me how an...
Very cool. I think it just goes to show videogames can tremendous and diverse efforts of creativity.
I can see why someone wouldn't really be for it, but why against it? If you or someone just don't "need it" then it's not problem for you. You're not even the main demographic.
It funds itself and it has every right to exist just like any other Con. The real judge of it will be whether or not it's profitable.
Oh and there is a girl gamer Con. Just sayin'.
It's new and bold. That should be praised on its own merits because it helps fight back gaming as a generic commodity. We need more creativity and not more generic shooters and stagnating franchises.
It doesn't always work out, but sometimes it is better than being handed the same thing in a different package over and over again.
I realize the issue isn't that simple, but I'm just offering another legitimate perspective here.
I found Obsidian to have much better writing and characters, but Bethesda to have much better open-world design and atmosphere. I wouldn't call either of their Fallout games a masterpiece because both had their respective weaknesses.
Them co-developing FO4 would be cool beans. They would complete each other. Probably wouldn't happen, though.
Yeah comparing homosexuality to incest and bestiality IS homophbic and also idiotic. If the reasons for that aren't obvious to you then I won't waste my time explaining the faults of such moronic notions.
Just want entertainment free from all sexual abnormalities? That says a lot. The world isn't going to cower toward fearful and naive puritans and nor should it. If you can't stomach it then ignore it or don't play it.

Didn't Levine promise a Bioshock for the Vita last year?
