^ Exactly. I'm all for criticism, but WhatCulture just exaggerates and nitpicks things to high heaven. They do nothing but that, like it's the only thing they're good at. Then there's especially idiotic articles like the "Most overhyped games coming in 2013" article they did.
The article has some fair points other critics have stated, like the dumb partner AI with the Stealth, but it doesn't present an obstacle in the gameplay. Nothing of what he...
That's nothing but a good thing, in my book.
I must be crazy, because I didn't find the demo that impressive. Animations still have much of the same uncanny valley elements to them, the goblin looks really uncanny in relevance to an actual human face, and it killed the joke midway through after the 3rd time the set failed.
The facial detail is impressive, though.
OoT3D is more of a remake than Wind Waker. They redid many textures, models, and some animation for OoT3D, while WWHD is basically an HD port with some enhancements. Both are not ground-up remakes, though. They clearly use the original programming and physics.
There's really no need for a boss-refight mode, as the final dungeons of the game basically has something very similar to that. The lack of a Master Quest and the exclusion of the Tingle Tuner (albeit to a much less...
Why are people hammering on the studio for this? I highly doubt they'd do the same if Half-Life 2 or Halo or such had a reported pedophile on the development team.
I get people don't like Dyack, but badgering him, his people, and his game for the icky personal life of one member is complete nonsense.
That was BS. They shouldn't announce things that they can't release... because apparently this is an industry where the people running it need to be told that.
^ "Eventually..."
Sony shows no signs of picking up the Vita thus far and it's been out for quite a while. They glossed over it at E3 and right now there are very few original, much less quality games on it. It's a great system, but no one wants to make anything for it.
First I hear gamers wanting developers to take their time making substantial DLC that isn't a cheap cash-in. Then they say they won't get it if it takes more than a few months and just trade the game in? I don't understand people at all... -_-
You're right, maybe "happily" isn't the best way to put it. But it did give them hope to live relatively contently.
ND confirmed this story of Joel and Ellie is done, but won't rule them out appearing or starring again. However, we can tell that they view TLoU's story as complete (as in a direct sequel is not necessary) and are strongly considering moving on to new characters and places.
Definitely a coincidnece. 800 and 555 are Generic Phone Numbers 101.
We're talking about the partner AI, not the enemy AI. My point stands that Elizabeth is a less intrusive AI partner. She almost never blocked my path (unlike allies in TLoU who did it somewhat often), and never got stuck in obstacles for extended periods (until the next scripted point) which happened to Ellie twice in my game.
Elizabeth is less intrusive, but she isn't as ambitious. Ellie actually fights and participates more in combat, which I'll give her credit ...
Not every story has to end the way Hollywood would have it. I knew the story was largely inspired by Cohen Brothers' films, so the kind of ending they went with was no surprise.
It ended fine where it did. It's not too far-fetched to think that Joel and Ellie will live happily together, Joel keeping her ignorant of what transpired at the end for the rest of her life. Ellie doubts him, so maybe there will always be an awkward tension between them about the subject. It&...
I'd say Elizabeth was less annoying, though Ellie gets credit for actually fighting. The AI in general with TLoU can get a little intrusive at times.
If you actually pay much attention to celebrities, maybe. I don't, so it doesn't matter to me.
Don't see why they bother with celebrities, though. They usually don't amount to better voices, from what I've seen. And given how costly they are to hire it's not worth it. Take Bethesda games , for example. They get a celebrity VA for every game and barely use the character they voice, assuming they don't kill them early on too. That's several thous...
I hope it's fake. Trust me, I love God of War but Kratos' story is done for me. I don't need to see every single chapter of his life they can milk a new plotline out of. Unless they can sensibly build off the ending of God of War 3 and/or start with a new mythology, count me out.
Not in the story context, but every game has you make choices in gameplay. TLoU happens to offer more in the way of strategy and approaches than most games.
My friend really likes this game. A bit buggy, but you can't say the game isn't an interesting take on zombie survival and has bad value.
I really want to stop hearing about Cliff Blizinski. He's out of the industry, yet we it feels like he's treated as more relevant than ever. It's even more annoying when everything that comes out of his mouth ends up in the top stories here.
We should be happy our reception had an effect and that the biggest issues of the X1 are going to be addressed. Yet I've seen plenty of people mocking it as backtracking and people just moving on to next best thing to complain about. It's really damned if you do, damned if you don't.
There are other issues that need addressing, but people don't need to act like scorned children about them exactly the same as they did before.
I haven't touched my Vita since finishing Persona 4 Golden. It's a good system, but no one is making anything for it. Stuff like Killzone and Terraway really aren't up my alley and other than those and the streaming there's very little to look forward to. I hope it picks up.
Probably becuase it's doing very poorly and thus not a very profitable environment. Don't get me wrong it's a great system, but barely anyone is making anything for it. Likewise the system is suffering like this because there's no games. A self-fufilling prophecy there.
As for this, I doubt it's real. You would think Capcom would have announced it earlier.
