There's a difference between storytelling and the actual story. I consider TLoU do be a cliche-fest that's very well told.
It is very predictable much of the time and utilizes every trope in the book (perhaps except the ending), but the scenes still have a lot of punch and are very well acted and scripted. That's good storytelling, even if the story rarely tries anything original.
I'll believe it when I see it. Sidequests always have at least a few throwaways, especially in this kind of game.
"day 1 dlc, then it's cut content from the game"
Not necessarily. Games are not released the moment they are finished. The DLC can be made during certification, manufacturing, and shipping. It depends on the size of the DLC to determine exactly whether or not parts of it were held back from the disc.
Exactly. The GC already had an established base when Pikmin 2 came out. And this was a 2-day period. It's not comparable and these numbers are more impressive, if anything, when you consider these facts.
Just another case of bad journalism in gaming, I guess. Half-truths missing important details that throw the whole thing off.
How unprofessional. Reminds me of EA with the Wii U, though EA is way more eager to burn that bridge.
I own a Vita and to be honest I barely play it. Gravity Rush was fun and Persona 4 Golden was really good, albeit an enhanced port. But otherwise? The AC game I got bundled was just boring and unimpressive for me, I couldn't bother to finish the Uncharted game, and the Resistance demo was just plain bad. Stuff like Katamari and Soul Sacrifice just don't appeal to me a...
Keep in mind, these are just slightly touched up old levels ported from Origins. These levels are immediately accessible from the main menu and are not part of the Legends campaign.
^ Agreed, but instead of the first 5 worlds it was the first 5 playthroughs with friends. :P
Just to help temper your expectations... don't expect a long game (7-15 hours depending on playstyle) with a fleshed out plotline and characters. The ending is also very anti-climactic.
However, expect a great game that gives you a lot of inventive ways to complete objectives, cool powers and weapons, open areas that encourage you to explore, choices and side-missions that affect you later on, a compelling setting with lots of lore to digest, and a great journey. It is a ...
Who cares? A score can mean anything people want it to.
The only thing that really stands out about him was how long he managed to cover up being a cannibalistic pedophile and seem like a decent guy, aka him hailing from trope city. He's nothing special.
Has Nigri always been a Suda girl like this, or has she been closer to the company since the trouble she had at Comic-con cosplaying as Juliet Starling?
Can we just not post about Bleszinski anymore? We don't need to know his opinion on every little thing, especially given he's no longer officially involved with any game development right now.
I think that's a bit less than the PS3. PS3 was 3.2, I believe.
Keep in mind though, clock speed is not the exact same thing as CPU efficiency. A piece of hardware several generations more advanced but with a somewhat lower clockspeed will more than likely be more efficient overall. Coding pipelines and excecutions, ect. Not to mention how it will all be affected by interacting with the GDDR5 memory architecture and the GPU.
But I'm not an expert, so ...
Strange. Must be some internal issues.
I have no doubt people are gonna use this to slam the WiiU hardware... but really, just look at the game. The SEGA Saturn looks like it could handle it.
I wonder if it will involve that new F-Stop mechanic they've mentioned. They said they thought it was as innovative as the portal gun, to the point they were going to make Portal 2 without portals and F-Stop instead.
No need to get defensive. I'm just saying that the art book is a seperate entity from the games. And that this is art for Bayoentta 1, so it's not going to be assiciated with Bayoentta 2's release.
I'm not bashing your opinion, just pointing out the issue I see with it.
... To appretiate the art in the book? That's kind of what an artbook is for. Does the game being 3 years old or its sequel really matter?
It's not gonna be in Bayoentta 2 material, that's for Bayoentta 2 stuff.
I hope "the best" doesn't mean they're going to cherry-pick too much. There's lots of great PS3 games, not all of them AAA blockbusters that sold millions of units.
I think GTA is pretty poor satire, anyway. People call it "tongue in cheek" but as far as I'm concerned that's just a phrase dancing around the fact that it lacks any cleverness. It's completely reliant on shallow caricatures and blatant messages that could as well preach it on a soapbox and retain the same amount of subtlety.
"And remember people, there is no PC version announced(yet) so there's no reason why they should be releasing high end PC screenshots (with extra assets) than actual screenshots from the release platform."
That isn't true. Most games create their assets on PC hardware and then scale them down for consoles. Regardless whether or not a PC version actually exists.
The reason they would use spiced up graphics for screenshots and trailers is simp...
Probably for the best, in my opinion. Subspace Emissary felt tacked on to me, lacking the depth and refinements of a proper platformer. It's not something I went back to when I was done.
