Well yea, I wasn't saying only mis-parented kids can be horrible. I am just giving my two cents as to the HORRIBLE rise in crappy gamers. I remember playing counter strike all the time and the MINORITY were assholes, most others just wanted a good, friendly game with friendly insults like "Hey rob, you totally got worked!" "Im gonna get you patrick!"

Now it's nigger this or rape your mom that or you are a faggot or jews need to die etc.....

The mass market approach of games these days making games have much lower learning curves for MP (post-COD4 COD games is a great example) and low cost of entry for online games (used to be a PC only thing where the majority were adults with jobs and respect, not all of course) allows for kids to hop online in growing numbers and generally are kids not being parented well and you end up with kids saying some pretty horrible stuff.

Eh, the environment in Crysis 2 was great, my issue was it was WAY smaller than crysis 1. Even though Crysis 2 had larger areas than say gears of war or killzone or uncharted, the whole point of crysis was HUGE open areas, I mean HUGE, not 2 different streets to take around a huge building. Crysis 1 levels are so big that when I went back to it, I was shocked at the size. I truly was.

People don't get why Crysis 1 was so insane, and still is to this day, when it comes to graphics/gameplay.

It has HUGE levels, about as open a shooter can get until it becomes FULL sandbox. While at the SAME TIME, it keeps every damn object as part of the physics engine, EACH limb of a tree or bush it physicalized and reacts to wind, explosive forces, people and object passing through them, and then the rendering quality, the lighting, shadowing, small details (teacups ar...

When they say "stream a game" they mean if I am playing my xbox/ps3/pc and I STREAM video of my gameplay to the net, it could become illegal.

Insanity. More corporations using the government rape the consumer.

@jivah

Trust me, doing that sucks, especially if gamers get off work late due to their job/fam and ONLY get to play dusk/night maps.

Actual time is boring as hell, Flight simulator proves that.

Another option besides accelerated time is presets. Early morning, morning, noon, afternoon, evening, dusk, twilight, midnight. And each map could have these presets (Since BF3, similar to crysis 1 and 2, do all lighting in real time, even ambient, the...

Yup, the fact that the 1080P video that was running at !60FPS! and look absolutely amazing was running on a SINGLE GTX 580 on PRE_Alpha code, that blew me away.

Almost always they show demos on SLI/CF to ensure good FPS to demonstrate the game and not worry about FPS since the code isn't finalized. But to do it on one card at 1080P AND at 60FPS. Man, amazing.

I think alot of people have that "problem". They think "Oh no! I can't run the game on highest settings! I will have to settle for medium! Lame!" But when you compare even MEDIUM to consoles, it STILL looks better.

Crysis 2 on the PC can't even be set low enough to the console settings. The lowest settings is similar to consoles except the PC version's motion blur and HDR are higher quality, no texture streaming (means no popins), much further ...

It would be more like fable or oblivion, etc. Accelerated time.

Crysis 1 actually did this in MP matches that had day/night cycle turned on. It was QUITE interesting.

People will argue Sony took that form of MLAA and made it better (which they did) but since they did it better, it makes it "sony tech". It is just fanboyism. Even this article is dumb because post processing an image to remove edge aliasing has been around BEFORE MLAA in games, "edge detect" and other forms of post processing AA have been done before.

5465d ago 4 agree1 disagreeView comment

That's what I don't like about MLAA, doesn't pull any sub pixel data so meshes (foliage, fences, grates, catwalks, any thing with alot of lines) pixel pop all over the place when it is in motion, you can't see it from screen shots.

I am a PC gamer, and I need my AA, but when I played Gears of war 3 beta, due to motion blur, depth of field and the MINOR AA the game does have on any static objects. I had more issues with jaggies with BC2 or UC2 or Halo 3.

KZ3 doesn't even have HDR at all and one of the crappiest SSAO effects.

Edges? more like dominates...

"...I could argue that car manufacturers use the same vendors when it comes to pistons, gearboxes, bearings, brake pads, alternators, spark plugs etc. Everyone has to buy from same from the manufacturers for their materials too lol."

Uh no, you can't argue the same flawed car analogy. Car manufacturers use a EXTEREMELY wide range of part manufacturers compared to PC. PC has processors and and video cards with only TWO makers, and o...

Yea cause OSX never has kernel panics or an insecure safari browser and can never get a virus.......

Get real man.

5467d ago 2 agree1 disagreeView comment

The only ways you would get viruses on PC is if you had no AV or were too stupid and ran exe's willynilly off the net. Errors just result due to users messing with things they don't know or using crappy apps.

I have seen plenty of spinning wheels and kernel panics and now that Mac is getting a decent amount of homes, viruses are being made left and right for it now.

Macs use intel processors and the same ram and the same video card makers and the same...

@Toman85

You are probably suffering from the refresh rate glitch. Try turning off vsync and see if you go back up to 45-60FPS (more toward the 60FPS side).

I have nearly the same rig but not that low of FPS at Ultra settings.

There are some workarounds for the refresh rate glitch on the official forums.

PS, I have Crysis: Warhead and running that game at Max and 8Xaa is no way faster than Crysis 2 on Ultra. Trust me.

I have a 580 here. At 1080P and every single thing maxed out+DX11+hi res pack, I get an average of 60 FPS with dips into 45FPS when its a LARGE area and lots of enemies.

Impressed with how small the performance hit is.

5467d ago 2 agree0 disagreeView comment

From what I have heard, yes, that is one of the bonuses of DX11.

5467d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

You also need to download the DX11 content (because tessellation actually requires more data than what is in the game) and also the high res texture pack for the better textures.
