Pretty much an official industry guide for this generation (sad as that is). Bubs for you.
And yet...the stereotype is still alive and kicking.
I routinely get ridiculed at work for still playing games at my age (I'm 28)...by people that will sit there, NOT DOING THEIR JOBS all day playing crappy little mobile games.
I'm not antisocial. I'm not overweight or unshaven or smelly and I don't live with my parents. But somehow it is still socially unacceptable for me to celebrate the hobby in front of people, even when there are literall...
Why is Epona not on this list?
It works for some games, but honestly, I don't want to be wasting my time wandering if this or that character LIKE-like's me when I'm just trying to shoot some bad guys in the face.
Ori and the Blind Forest LOOKED like it had that amount of time put into it. Everything about M#9 looks bland, boring and seems like a complete afterthought. I would feel much better if they HADN'T said they were delaying it purely for network issues, because almost nothing in the game looks finished. It almost looks as if....their resources are being spread thin?
So yeah, people are understandably pissed off, especially after that suspiciously well-timed delay, the whol...
Yeah, I think when you require a trailer for your crappy pachinko machines...there is a problem.
It certainly was a little melodramatic and pretentious, but, I mean...that's what the franchise has been like since FFX. It wasn't all that surprising to me coming off the heavy melodrama of the three XIII games.
And I don't think anyone can argue that it LOOKED bad. Man oh man, this is going to be a good looking game.
Yeah, I've never understood why SE INSISTS on focusing on young, annoyingly immature characters in so many of their games. Like in FFXII, for instance, Basch was supposed to be the main character, but SE made the developers shoehorn Vaan in because they didn't think Basch would appeal to young people.
So instead of a story focusing on an exiled Captain trying to regain his honor, we got....a story about a whiny little wannabe thief that "craves adventure." Y...
I wasn't completely blown away with the graphics in this trailer either, but I've also really come to respect From Software for not following the trend of releasing early footage that inevitably looks nothing like the finished product. It looks to be ABOUT on the same technical level as Bloodborne, in my opinion.
Maybe people just aren't as psyched with this footage because Bloodborne was a completely new art style when it was revealed.
@Yi-Long
Developers really just need to get their heads out of their asses.
In my opinion, a game like Devil's Third is not unappealing because it was made with a B-budget. It's unappealing because it is a B-budget game that was obviously created to emulate the AAA formula.
Developers should be utilizing the artistic freedom that comes with a budget that is not studio-inflated, but so often they are just confused when their b-games do...
Yeah, to be perfectly honest, I think if it didn't have "Naughty Dog" associated with it, it almost certainly would have flopped.
The mainstream isn't usually too keen on expanding it's horizons beyond shooting, explosions, boobs and sports, even with insanely good games like The Last of Us.
I think I have a harder time taking advice from media whores, to be honest.
^Here, watch this.

There's close to nothing in Bloodborne that is not rich with backstory if you take the time to read, listen, and look around.
Again, I agree that the Witcher trumps Bloodborne in traditional characterization and storytelling (in fact, it is easily some of the best in the industry), but there is some absolutely top notch...
^I guess she could be alright if she gets the accent down. A lot of young actors have trouble with accents, though. Her character in GoT actually has a lot of traits in common with Ellie, if you think about it.
If you're judging based on resemblance alone, that's another story. Obviously she looks nothing like Ellie.
Character-wise, I agree 100%. The Witcher is pretty much all about the characters and it shows. But story and lore wise, I think it's much closer than people give Dark Souls (and Bloodborne) credit for.
I'm with you 100%
I love the Witcher 3, but I've always felt like the setting of the series is a bit too..."generic-medieval-f antasy." It's basically medieval times with Tolkien monsters.
Which is fine. I don't mind that setting, but the "horror-fantasy" setting of Bloodborne (and the Souls games in general) feels ridiculously creative and unique by comparison.
And I just have to say, it may be buried much...
Yeah, not to bad mouth VII and VIII because I loved those too, but IX went back to the series' roots. It put the "fantasy" back in Final Fantasy...plus, the main character wasn't a whiny emo teen.
VI is about the only other game in the series that I liked more than IX, I think.
I'm with SlightlyRetarted. The first game was focused, Metroidvania-like gameplay at it's best. City needlessly opened things up resulting in a lot of added fluff, and then Knight went a step further by adding even more fluff, and Michael Bay explosions and shooting sections.
I still loved the good parts of Knight, but sadly those parts were the same aspects that Asylum consisted of all the way through.
I think at some point, you have to accept that if you're going to be spending so much time gaming that people start resenting you, then you might not be relationship material to begin with. Even "gamer" girlfriends (and boyfriends, for that matter) are going to get fed up with the neglect, because what's the goddamn point of being in a relationship if you're not going to spend any time with the person?
The actual problem is that a lot of people's def...
And you still play games!?
You nerd.
