...I can't even begin to get on board with this. Final Fantasy XIV is VERY much a traditional MMORPG in everything from it's structure to it's storytelling to it's character progression to it's etc. etc.

At no point in FFXIV did I ever feel anywhere near as invested in the world and it's inhabitants as I did in the best entries in the series (pretty much VI-X). The way MMO's are structured makes it damn near impossible to get that same level of inv...

The Souls games have always only been as difficult as people are impatient and careless. That's what makes the difficulty rewarding. It's the RIGHT kind of difficult.

@deafdani

Ah, I thought the two on the left were the Japanese and the two on the right were the American ones. Bad reading comprehension on my part.

God, that's terrible. Apparently Nintendo wants people to believe that 13 year old girls are wearing another full set of clothes underneath their clothes...this is bad even by censorship standards.

You know, it actually doesn't seem that much less suggestive, to be honest. Is underboob more acceptable than regular cleavage for some reason? What a weird case of censorship...

Given the choice between crow and crap...I think I would rather eat crow. That pile of shovelware crap is all yours, my friend.

Horror doesn't really scare me either, but I like horror GAMES because I can still get into the atmosphere without necessarily being scared to death.

And I thought PT was REALLY good for about half an hour. The "solution" to the game was beyond ridiculous, in my opinion and really ruined things for me. It was past the point of being cryptic. It was a little idiotic and frustrating. But I forgive it because it wasn't really supposed to function as a tradition...

I'm with Eldyraen. I guess there's nothing wrong with making the review date known, but this was NOT an Early Access game.

I don't really feel like they deserve a break like this, to be honest. Poor press is basically the only backlash they got from this whole debacle, so stamping those reviews with that label almost seems like a form of vindication in a way.

Ew....it looks so bad. There's always a rush to be the first one to get it out, that these early ones are always just poorly done textures.

I NEED HIGH QUALITY BOOBS THANK YOU.

It was about the best quality niche product around, in my opinion. The big AAA releases just weren't there for it to achieve mass appeal, but I got a TON of time out of it playing PSOne games, older PSP games I missed, and those really wonderfully weird japanese games that get no real attention.

But then yeah, I guess it was just too expensive to succeed on those terms. I still love it, though. Sort of a handheld Dreamcast, in my opinion.

Not that it wouldn't be fan-friggin-tastic if it DID, but I have absolutely no expectations that the game will look anywhere near as good as these bullshots...or bull...gifs, I guess.

It's Ubisoft, for gods sake. What kind of blind optimism would drive someone to think otherwise this generation?

Look, I like Until Dawn quite a bit, but it's much more like watching a good horror movie than it is playing a good horror game. It just seems slightly overrated to me.

Compared to Until Dawn, Alien: Isolation did a much better job of giving me white knuckles, and SOMA had a much more genuinely disturbing and creative story behind it.

Man, THESE are the remasters I love. Older classic games. Not games that came out three years ago that are repackaged with overpriced DLC and resold as "enhanced."

I wish they would do Sam'n'Max: Hit the Road at some point, but I assume there would be copyright issues...maybe Full Throttle though...

The plot holes are the only thing I can really "prove" as truth or not, and even then they might bother me more than other people.

The rest was just my opinion, though I think quite a few people share it. I'll try to keep it spoiler free here, because I can't tell if you've already played it or not.

For one, the second half transformed Vella from what I saw as a rebellious teen into a bit of a psychopath. She does some insanely destruct...

What, you mean as far as the plot holes are concerned?

3890d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

It is not a "disservice" to the game. The developers made a conscious effort to make the T&A a part of the game, and so I am judging it as the whole that it is. That's the whole point. It negatively affects the integrity of the game's context and setting and tone.

Again, though, if you disagree (which I am used to people doing with me on this subject), then I freely admit that it is not my place to dictate what people like in their video games.

#4 (art style) and #5 (dialogue) I agree with. #3 (amazing story) I could not disagree more with. There's more plot holes in this game than The Dark Knight Rises. The second half, too, kind of throws away all the great themes that had real potential in the first half, and the ending felt rushed and awkward.

I don't think it's a bad game, but I think it's a prime example of bad crowd-funding management. And crowd-funding has only gotten worse since, to be hones...

^That being said, I think if that's what was in the game, then it should stay in the game.

I acknowledge that it's stupid, pandering crap, but it is not my place to dictate what other people want in their games. If I feel like developers are putting this crap in just to pander to a certain demo, then I just don't buy it.

The REAL problem is that because of the annoying leftist agenda plaguing journalism these days, gamers seem to feel obligated to...

The trick is to play the "don't touch anything" levels, but still try to complete it like a normal level.

I think the beta has at least convinced a lot of people not to go day one with it. I'm still excited for it, but there are enough issues that I'm not buying it right out the gate.

Also, Battlefront aside, I really hate these "Twinfinite Discusses" videos. I don't mind looser, amateurish stuff in general, but these "discussions" just seem like people having casual conversations with each other. It's almost like fringe youtube stuff.
