I like Undertale, personally, but I'm sure most people would agree that the Witcher 3 should take it...which I have no problem with. It was a great story.
...Until Dawn was a fun little interactive horror movie, but I wouldn't say it had a story anywhere close to some of the other stuff to come out this year.
It's a tactic that has worked out perfectly in this industry. It all comes back to the stupidity of gamers. I guarantee when Destiny 2 rolls around, any ill-will will be forgotten the second they release a spiffy looking trailer.

And it was definitely the better game. Still liked X quite a bit, but the pacing and the silent protagonist really put me off at times.

I think the problem is that they censored it for the ridiculous reasons. It's a stupid, superfluous option, for sure, but Nintendo censored it for the same reason Capcom censored butt slaps.

I would be more than happy to eat crow on this, but I don't think it's going to happen. These people are not our friends and they didn't just randomly get a jolt of good will and decide to remake the game now after fans have been asking for it since the PS2.
The industry is at a point now where it is very profitable to milk older games and franchises.
Aw, I think it's better than a 7, personally. The soundtrack in particular is criminally underrated.

I think with a game as legendary as FFVII, people are willing to accept anything just so they can stay excited.
