It just makes no sense to appeal to the nostalgia of FFVII, then. Why don't they just make another installment of Final Fantasy? They've already got franchise recognition.
FFVII fans have been waiting for an updated version of the game they grew up playing, not a completely redone version designed to appeal to a demographic that probably hasn't even goddamned played it, much less understand it's significance in the industry.
Hmmm. Canceling a preorder for a game hitting an aggregate score in the mid-80's seems very troll-baity to me. Not that the score matters in the first place...
The franchise took a couple of steps back, but a bunch more steps forward. The only thing I have a problem with in this game is the weirdness that goes along with having a silent protagonist and the story pacing. If you want epic, though, there is nothing else like it out there.
I played through the original Fallout 3 without any scumming, and take it from me; it closes MANY more doors than it opens. Not that there aren't points when it's fun to accidentally piss someone off because of a bad roll, but by and large I enjoyed scumming the convos much more than not.
Plus the bugs in F4 makes it very difficult not to scum every now and then, especially considering how many times I've lost companions to REALLY stupid crap.
I don't know how to comment on these things without sounding like an elitist douche, but there is MUCH better sound out there in the price range if people start looking at solutions that shy away from the whole..."GAMERZ!! EXTREME! HEADSETS!!!" market.
For one, all this 7.1 surround sound crap is nothing but a marketing ploy. Specialized software and mixing plays a MUCH bigger role in producing 3D sound than a few more crappy tiny drivers can hope to achieve.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's not even that they want access to this particular game. I've always thought this series was pretty cheap and trashy, to be honest, but the precedent being set by allowing the social banning of this game goes beyond any personal preferences I have for this kind of content.
This kind of behavior is no goddamn good for anyone who genuinely enjoys gaming.
....the expansion would have to be it's own game to exist without any sense of pretense. You have to work through the first little section of the game simply because players would not be ready for the expansion area before that.
That's part of the problem, I guess. The show doesn't know what it is. Not that I don't appreciate the "reveals," but I have never understood why anyone in charge of the awards felt obligated to rope that aspect in. Legitimate award shows don't usually get treated as platforms for future release advertising.
I've always thought it would be cooler and more appropriate to do some retrospectives and some legacy awards instead of pushing the big reve...
An opinion can categorically never be wrong. They are purely subjective, which, coincidentally, is another term that people need to learn the actual definition for.

I didn't think MGS was all that good an example of open world gaming, to be honest. It was once again one of the best STEALTH games ever created, but Just Cause does a much better job of highlighting the strengths of an open world.
I lol'd at that Ridley intro screen for some reason. It would be hilarious to actually see that in the game.
I can count on one hand the number of games that have come out this year that were not COMPLETE rehashes of games that came before. We live in the goddamn "Gaming Era of Rehashes," for god's sake.
...and just for the record, it is clear that you are judging Undertale purely on it's art style, because apart from that it's one of the most unique games to be released this year.

...to be honest, it feels a lot like they've taken stuff OUT of it. The amount of maps, the amount of skins, the amount of load out. Considering their budget, the only real conclusion you can really come to is that there's a lot of content they're sitting on so they can package it for a higher price later.
I absolutely loved my first ten or so hours with the game, but I just need MORE, dammit! It feels so bare-bones.
I will never be buying Evolve just on principle alone.
I think that the only way I could ever conceivably force myself to play a divorce-themed bejeweled game would be if I was a pretentious hipster trying to demonstrate my open-mindedness to some shallow hipster girl I was trying to impress.
