This is just the way journalism works these days. It's the same reason we all went bat-shit crazy here in America when the dreaded swine flu "pandemic" was allegedly supposed to leave us with a death toll as high as the outbreak in 1918.

I'm sorry, this is a very serious article, but...this string of comments really made me lol.

Seriously, wtf Kotaku? This is getting ridiculous. Well, that's not true. Your articles have been ridiculous since this whole thing started.

Hehe, tough shit. They're too stupid to realize that this is the way a structureless, anonymous force is going to function. Anarchy and anonymity don't work because they are far, far too easily abused, more so than any other social structure.

It's a very funny, clever game, but it doesn't reach Tim Schafer levels of funny. Day of the Tentacle and Psychonauts, for instance, were funnier games in my opinion.

They've actually been doing this for years. It's just a matter of recycling those plastic cases from when they use them for stuff like PC software. It's really not a big deal.

If you're calling them, asking them to install PS3 software in the first place...they almost deserve your money.

Win back the hardcore? Yes. I'm sure they'll give some thought to that after they're done rolling around in their mountains of money they coaxed out of the pop-mainstream masses.

I'm just happy they seem to have finally ironed out the animation this time around. The animation was BY FAR the worst part of the presentation in Morrowind, Oblivion and Fallout 3.

How are these stories being approved? Even if his claim is true, there is absolutely no credibility behind any this. This pretty much amounts to a guy coming up to you on the street and saying to you "hey, this dude told me his credit card had been hacked because of this PSN stuff."

Why the **** is this an approved story!?

This is such a misleading article. No claims of theft have been made since Sony took the network down. These three claims were one of the factors that pushed Sony to bring it down, in fact. There haven't been claims trickling in after the fact.

I mean yes, it's perfectly alright to be upset with Sony for it's shitty, morally ambiguous "PR work," but can we please stop trying to put so much of the blame on Sony for the actions of a few pathetic hacker dic...

That's not their job at all. That's almost the definition of sensationalist news. That's leading the people to opinions as opposed to presenting the facts and letting them form their own.

No, it was a technically interesting read, just not a very philosophically sound one from an ethics perspective.

Hell, a pizza is sounding pretty good right about now.

For the love of god, this.

This is like the video game equivalent of swine flu. The media is freaking everyone out unnecessarily.

Seriously...the hackers have unequivocally won if you all let this little stunt scare the shit out of you so much that it severely damages Sony.

Everyone seriously needs to settle down. You HAVE to find a middle ground here.

Should you be going completely bat-shit insane because your life as you know it is on the cusp of being stolen away from you? No. You should be quietly cautious...as in as cautious as you should always be with your personal information and credit information.

Should the whole of the blame be put on either Sony or the hackers? No. You should all be at least a little bit angry at bo...

"Americans" as in the entire Western RPG tradition? JRPG's gradually put a greater emphasis on stats and leveling, but the amount of choice, interaction and lore associated with WRPG's these days sets them firmly in the classical definition of "RPG," really more-so than JRPG's.

It would make sense in the context of the story, though. At the end of Episode 2, the ship Judith was investigating was an Aperture Science ship, and that's apparently where Gordon and Alyx were headed. Though I suppose it would make sense to put all kinds of crazy inventions in there as well.

I'm sorry. If it's any part of anonymous, even an off-shoot, then anonymous has to be held responsible. This is just the way their structureless, anarchic system works (or rather, how it DOESN'T work). Because you are anonymous. You are legion. You are ALL responsible.

You guys have got to be kidding. You know the Nintendo fanboys and the Microsoft fanboys say the EXACT same thing about IGN? They're always out to "smear" something.
