As much as I love this game, it sure does spawn a lot of elitist douchebags with superiority complexes.
He beat the game, friend. He beat the game in FOUR DAYS, no less. He just said that he disliked the way it was structured to the point that he was not having fun playing the game. It's a perfectly valid critique, albeit one you may disagree with.
Very funny video. Thanks very much for that!
I make nightly blood sacrifices to my life-size Pikachu blow-up doll altar.
At times I wonder why a three foot tall yellow rodent demands blood sacrifices. But then I remember the old saying: "The Dark Lord Pikachu createth and so too can he taketh away," so I don't take any chances.
They're NOT to be believed....they're video games.
The advantage of the process is that the textures are more reasonably rendered across long distances. Close up the game is fairly ugly, but from a distance it's easily one of the best looking games around. Pluses and minuses, I suppose.
They REALLY needed to take some extra time to perfect the technique though.
I think it's a little over-the-top, yeah. I really, really liked Demon's Souls, but they went kind of out of control with this one.
I agree with Phil, though. I respect them for not attempting to necessarily appeal to the mainstream. It's very much a game unaltered by outside factors.
Not just from a design perspective, either. She had some really interesting new mechanics too.
And would it kill you to throw a few robots in there?
I gotta tell you, the build-up for this story made it seem like it was going to be a lot more harrowing. He just didn't get his package and they sent another copy. This has happened to me multiple times in my lifetime.
He made it seem like he was robbed at gunpoint and a UPS employee ran out and disarmed the criminal.
Ah, the scourge of internet anonymity strikes.
They both boast to have narratives essential to the overall experience of the game. Only in one, actions are more conducive to the context of that narrative. It has nothing to do with genre.
Just to be clear, I am talking about the first game. The second game did not have NEARLY the amount of performance issues the first game had.
I don't know if you've only played the second game and are assuming that the first game would run fine, but that's definitely not the case.
...? I'm talking about Crysis 1, which is still a beast to get running smoothly on current tech.
That was the most awkward video I have ever seen.
I don't know what to think about this. 8-10 hours is a pretty standard and acceptable length nowadays, but it also has me a little worried considering developers ALWAYS exaggerate game length when talking to the press before game releases.
So sad. I'm not an Apple guy, but I still had respect for him.
In a way, though, he's pretty much immortal. His legacy is so massive, it will never die.
There's really no contest. The PC version is MUCH more lush. Granted, the game STILL has problems running on current-gen PC's four years later....
Dane Cook? The star of such illustrious films as "Good Luck Chuck," "Employee of the Month," and "Farce of the Penguins"?
I think it would be more appropriate to like what he DOESN'T play. That is if you're one to let "celebrities" influence your opinions in the first place.
Amen to that, brother.
I have to agree with him in general, though I still came away with a very positive opinion of the game. There are cheap tactics in this game that were not nearly as prevalent in Demon's Souls: attacks through walls, horrible button delay and "queuing", terrible checkpoints and a multiplayer component that was almost completely squandered.
