Yeah, I was hoping for the rest of the Phantasy Star series on xbla for achievements. Never happened. They are on the disc collection but that's it
I like your take on how 3 or four games a year was it. That's the way it was for me when I was with my trusty Master System. I'd get two for my birthday and one or two on Christmas. So when people talk about larger game libraries I'm thinking that's great. 200 games versus 80 games, it didn't matter because I only had 8 games in two years.
So I played my Phantasy Star, Shinobi, Afterburner, Black Belt, Hang on, Safari Hunt, and Double Dragon games just...
They need some kind of quality control. Xbox live has a ton of them and maybe like %5 are worth playing.
Gamestop is terrible. I had a members card since 2010. I have 78,000 of their points and there is absolutely nothing to use it on other than overpriced dollar store quality gamer swag. It's sad really.
When it was still Funcoland I used to get free games and 50% off entire purchase order for my loyalty card. It was awesome. Now since becoming GameStop it's all crooked and evil. Selling opened games as new products, selling used versions of games 3-5 bucks cheaper t...
Why aren't people mad about broken games sold in stores that need patches from an internet connection to work?
jokes on xbone ps4 users that don't have or want to be connected.
I got a Dreamcast the same year. It was a breath of fresh air after dealing with the pixelated games of the psone and the Saturn. I got Nfl 2k, Sonic, and Ready to Rumble. NFL 2k was amazing. It was spooky when you first witness it. Especially if the cleanest version of football was NFL blitz on N64.
I was a diehard hardcore gamer from NES and SMS to Genesis and Super NES. But other than a few nice games like Virtua Fighter 2 and MGS, I really hated early 3-D graphics....
Just get the Xbox disc or download from xbla. Its a much cleaner experience than anything on PS2. Or grab the PC version for dirt cheap.
It's still there. They just sell the physical disc with 50% of the game. Then you download all the dlc with DRM. Also you'll need to download a day one patch so the game isn't broken. Welcome to this generation of gaming trash.
Gamers only play call of duty anyway. You just need one or two big games to give gamers a break from COD. Those two games are usually FIFA or Madden.
It's all about a game that can get people away from COD multiplayer. People rarely take those games out of the disc drives.
Just get the first flop at gamestop for $5
Worst game ever hyped to be the next best thing.
I'm with you. Nothing is worse than being stuck trying to play fighting games with a crappy Sony dpad.
Sorry but Destiny just isn't that great. It's a bore fest with minimal reward for time spent. I'd take even the disappointing Titanfall over that game.
That's why I only buy multiplayer games if it includes bots like Unreal and Gears.
Halo and Call of Duty are worthless without the internet.
MS is always careful to allow what's out now to have their time in the spotlight to sell. While MS would spread out their exclusives, Sony would bring it all at you at the same time. Example was 2006 to 2011, it was Gears 06, Halo 07, Gears 2 08, Halo 09, Halo 10, Gears 11, Gears 12...etc. MS was also careful to come out a month or two before Call of Duty. Sony just sporadically released their games whenever and probably the reason Resistance and Killzone didn't do as well as they...
Genesis is my favorite too. Road Rash 2, Streets of Rage 2, World series baseball, Golden axe, Gunstar Heroes, Phantasy Star 4, ...the list is huge.
I have 20 SNES games and 68 Sega Genesis games in my library of games I'd never sell. Best era ever!
I think the data doesn't work because in the PS2 era people weren't investing all their time in online multiplayer games like they do now. It's tough to compete when the mass majority rarely take call of duty out of the disc drive. Gamers were more willing to play different single player experiences. Devil may cry, God of War, Shadow of colossus, Mgs2...they were bought up because you beat a game and move on. Now you log on and just keep gaining experience in the same game.
I didn't like the dpad and the c-stick. Sure you'll get used to it but meh.
The perfect controller would be a combo of Saturn's 3D pad and Dreamcast controller with Xbox analog sticks and layout. I guess if the 360 controller had a Sega dpad from from the Genesis /mega drive 6 button controller or Sega Saturn 3d pad dpad, both are made specifically for fighters, that would be it. I also don't know why they can't put alternate L and R triggers on the face...
I fell asleep playing it. It feels more like work than fun.
Sleeping dogs.
