Wonder if Ea will actually release Live this year. 2K HAS BEEN CRUSHING EA...As far as quality goes in Sports games. Sony makes up for 2k's poopie baseball.
The only way to kill Sony would be to get EA and Activision locked down as first party supporters. Highly unlikely and If Gears4 is on PS4 then MS has nothing for me. Gears was the only reason I have x360.

PS2 influential? I don't get that really. PS2 was the next. Influential would go stronger to Dreamcast and Xbox pushing online multiplayer. PS2 had a DVD player and graphics plagued with jaggies. Dreamcast games were much cleaner looking.
PS2 could get something for having a DVD player but that was the next logical step. Ps2 paved the way for shovelware just to have a larger catalogue of games. :)

personally I want nextgen to fail altogether. I'm still content with what's available now not to mention my backlog. It will be two years before I get through it.
When madden looks like a 2006 game with updated rosters is when sports games are looked down on.
2k football would be a welcome sight. Look how great the Show, NBA 2k, have gotten while madden stays stagnant. Competition baby.

That feeling that the leap isn't there yet. I remember going from nes and master system to firing up goldenaxe on Genesis for the first time and it was breathtaking. Then SNES had Fzero and Street Fighter 2. Saturn came in with Virtua Fighter and Daytona which raised the level. Ps1 with Tekken and Ridge Racer was enough to excite as well. I want Gears of War 4, Shenmue 3, and NFL 2k14. Whichever console get's these will be the console I suffer drm junk with.
M$ is going to fail nextgen no matter what. Gamers don't like one company on top for too long. Sad thing is that Xbox one isn't doing them any favors and stamping the evil on their foreheads.

I agree. Personally I think cod sucks. But multiplayer in games make people play a lot longer so games like dmc, tomb raider, ninja gaiden, etc...don't get the attention they used to.
I'll hold on to the 360 for a few more years...watch the fall out.
