Skyrim is a single player game that will last 20-100 hours, granted it's not a military FPS but still a First person game.
If anything this will lower the price of online games with used codes and the pass will pay itself.
That doesn't make much sense to me...This would require an emulator which in itself doesn't make much sense.
360 games are optimized for 360 hardware, hardware optimization is one of the advantages consoles have over PC.
I'm a PC and PS3 gamer...but mostly PC, Just upgraded my GPU to a GTX 570 OC from a 8800GTX SLI setup that I bought in 2006. One of my cards fried and I just decided to change it all...best of all it only cost 300$...the same as a PS3...I should be good for a while now...maybe I'll upgrade my Mobo/CPU/RAM in a few months.
I think the ideas brought by this game are great, what saddens me is that they found that they needed to call it XCOM. This could have been called anything else, it's an alien game with so little in common to XCOM that the name is purely for marketing.
The issue is that when, one day, a developper will want to actually bring back XCOM, they'll have to deal with this game. The only thing that cheers me up a bit is that 2K Marin is making it...
Because it's old hardware the price should be competitive, they're trying to steal Last Gen sales from the PS3 and 360 once the next gens come out...look at it from that point of view...
In two years there will most likely be a new gen of pricey consoles, most likely Nintendo will not release a new console then (duh!)...but remember that the PS2 sold quite a lot even after the PS3 was out...if Nintendo can keep the price down, anyone who doesn't have a PS3 or 360 ...
As Battlefield goes, it's a more realistic game than COD...much more difficult, no aim assist, no killstreaks, you can't be a lone wolf in this game...you know like in real war.
@M_Prime
I'll answer your question, yes there are many HD re-releases, too many? It depends, for them to all be successful probably, but the way I see it is more like movies, Movies that were not filmed in HD and originally released in VHS have been remastered with better sound and image quality so that a new generation may enjoy them (i.e. Star Wars), on a new format.
Games are starting to be like that since there is less and less of a difference betwee...
yes and wasn't it a while back that DVDs could only hold 4.7GB of data, then they invented DL DVD which doubled it's size while still working on DVD players.
Original BD were 25GB now they have it at 50GB...it is still fairly new and the need for 100GB is not there yet. With DVD, the need has been here for years and they still haven't come up with something bigger than 8.5GB...I call bull on a new DVD size, probably just a different way of writing games to a DL D...
I thought the same thing when I read the article...just one GTX580 is 500$, let alone everything else.
And the problem will remain production costs...
This game is fun to play, solid combat, good story...but I'm a little disaponted in the dubbing down of the RPG elements, I still like the game, but it doesn't seem as deep as the first one.
Crafting seems very limited compared to DA1.
You can't equip armor on your party (that something I enjoyed in the first one)
Other Items seem to be a second thought (they even have a garbage can as an icon)
You can't zoom out as far as in DA1.

@Kleptic
What you're saying is correct, but I believe that in the long run, Sony has the better strategy...Shooters are good, and they'll satisfy the shooter crowd...but.
'Once a Gamer always a gamer' they say. We gamers evolve, myself, I play every genre, I've been gaming for over 20 years and my tastes changed quite a lot.
By building a library of varied genres and creating a stable of first party studios and IPs that ...
People buy the games they really want, but at the price they are charging, most people cannot afford more than 4-5 games a year. So they pay for the ones they know and love and don't risk buying the ones they are not sure about...that's when pirating comes in.
Just lower the freakin' price and you'll sell more...magic number for me is 30$...It's either day 1 full price purchase or on sale/used/greatest hits purchase.
By their logic, buyin...
Actually there were two versions of the Original XBox controller...the very first version was huge, had a clear plastic bubble over the XBox logo and the buttons were oval instead of round...that one sucked more.

Edit: and it was called "The Duke"
This is total bull...does nothing good for the industry aside from confusing and frustrating the consumer...the fact that you'll have a different model for each company is just stupid.
I could not care less where my money goes when I buy a game...it's not my problem and I should not feel like I have to give charity to developers (it actually does not go to the devs it goes to the company stockholders), the games that use this are usually guarantied million sellers (Mo...
your opinion man...Forza's good...but I don't want another Forza, I want GT...and that's what I got.
Gees, this is obvious...I am still running a pair of 8800GTX and maxing out most games (not DX11 obviously).
I can't say that I'm disappointed for not having to upgrade my GPU though.
As a guy who spent the most part of the night playing GT5...I have to disagree. GT5 is Gran Turismo as I expected it to be, I would not want GT to be like Forza.
I love Forza and I love GT, they are different and that's how I like it...I haven't noticed any frame rate issues or major screen tare, no bugs...This debate is pointless, both games are great.
So this guy is in jail for having leaked pictures of 3 pokemons...it's not like he leaked the game...this is crazy!
"...charged for leaking the identity of three new-additions to the Pokemon series..."
lol, right...better quality...I would say trendy as the reason for it. People who buy Apple products don't ever shop elsewhere...it's like Starbucks...people buy it for the cup.
Thank you mister marketing guy for telling me what I like.
It's obviously a FPS because of the console crowd...who it seems like to shoot things a lot...
The game looks promising, I might even buy it, but don't tell me this is XCOM and certainly don't tell me that my tastes in games are no longer contemporary because consoles have controler limitations that make my game tastes not viable on those platforms...There are plenty of Strategy games ...
