That's worth at least 40 cents...
And that car is just freaking ridiculous, I would not be caught dead driving that crap, 'look at me I'm a publicity stunt'...
I love Halo but this media frenzy is getting on my nerves and I'm starting to expect that my tv will literally explode from awesomeness when I start the game. I'm already disappointed from it, because there is no way a game can deliver on the craziness of all this...
There's already people ...
I can't wait for my 1st Halo 3 frag fest (LAN party). That's the part that I like, playing with friends over a couple beers.
I keed, I'm probably gonna go play somewhere, anywhere where there is a 360 it seems...
I never really liked the previous ones...I feel so alone!
You certainly have a large a$$ to pull that crap out of it...the PS3 uses a diffrent OS which has it's own APIs (does not use DX at all), and the 360 is not 95% compatible, it does offer some compatibility but DX10 was not even finished when the 360 came out in 2005, ATI said so, not me.
But in any case, what you saw in crysis trailers is the DX9 version, not sure about the far cry 2 one.
But, units shipped month after month would lower if they were not selling, like it's happening to the 360, the article says that sony continues to ship at the same level, indicating that retailers need to renew their stock.
What strikes me most is the sheer amount of (quality) FPS games coming out this fall, even with Halo3 coming out. Now I'm not saying that Halo3 won't be fun, we all know it will be kick a$$.
What I am wondering is if people will play it for a long time and if it's impact will be that of H2...given that most will go trough the Single player within days and since there are all those other good shooters coming out, will that take some steam away from H3? If I remember correctly,...
That will obviously work out very well, cause we all know that people never cheat in games, especially when there is money involved.
I think it's WarRock that has a similar approach, I think you can rent guns and such...you can't actually make money by fragging...I think. But it's still the typical balance problem, people that have money(real cash) to throw out the window have more ammo, weapons, health pacs, can carry more weapons and have access to more options.
Being good at Halo Multi-player (and most MP FPS) only requires two things: Accuracy and knowledge of the maps, having both is what makes you the better player.
That being said, partly removing the knowledge of the map is essentially getting players on a more balanced level as the less experienced Halo players (that may have accuracy none the less) have as much chance as others of finding Items.
I would also expect this from Sony...
M$ Bullying small ventures that have nothing to do with the game industry is something I would never had expected.
end sarcasm
Most of my buddies that had the RROD basically just went to Wal-mart, bought a new 360, put their old one in the box of the new one and returned it...that's the fatest way to get your console replaced...and you know it won't be refurbished.
I bet these aren't accounted for in those statistics!
I just wanted to point out that fanboyism and misinformation like this article may be one of the reasons casual gamers go for the Wii...after all it's bacause of casual gamers that there are consoles, when I was Hard-core, consoles were for kids, I played on my PC where the real gamers were...not that much anymore!
I'm a casual gamer...I have kids(not that much time)...But I have money...I account for 95% of the potetial buyers of new consoles. I find this 6 reasons list laughable since it would only be true for about 5% of gamers and still the 360 does not meet all of them.
I do not own any of the new consoles yet and am still thinking about which one to buy...with all the 360 breaking and the PS3 not having games, and these stupid reasons to buy this or that system, It's hard to decide...
If one console goes down, it's the consumer that looses...we should all be happy that there is a console war, cause your xbox/ps3 would be much more expensive, they could actually sell it for profit not with a loss (700$ 360 or 900$ PS3) and the games would most likely be more expensive too.
In any case, you making money out of this war? I didn't think so, so shut up and leave history write itself!
Wear the hat if it fits!
I did not see any PS3 fanboy comments before your post...ony 360 fanboys like yourself...dude grow up, nobody's hating but you.
If they can bring it to the PS2 they can bring it to the PS3 later...If 3rd parties jump in and port their Wii titles to the PS2 (which is a no brainer with over 100m gamers), it would bring a new life to that console, effectively giving PS2 owners more time before they jump in the next-gen wagon, setting the stage for the PS3 to get it's game library going. You'd effectively have two consoles at opposite ends of the price spectrum.
At that poin the "wand" would be a...
I've seen tapes that they use for commercials and they're still using Betamax.
I work in a building where a major TV corporation has some of it's studios.
about the re-downloading of movies that you loose, but I have a pretty extensive DVD collection imaging having to re-download 100+ movies... + I would need a Raid5 just to keep em all digital...I know, the technology will probably be there at that point but still that's a lot of money for...1s and 0s.
BTW I've had 3 HD failures at work and 1 at home.
Not just a series of 1s and 0s...I've had hard drive failures too frequently to even buy music in digital distribution...me wants disks. (unless it's rental, then I don't care)
Chicks dig movie libraries...it's always what they look at when you're fixing drinks...makes for great conversation too.
It's casual gamers that make a console sell well...right now casual gamers are picking up Wiis. Only hardcore gamers buy 360s and PS3s, it's still a niche market. Casual gamers are still buying PS2s a lot, which means that casual gamers embrace a technology once it's been established. In the case of the PS2, it is just that, cheap, reliable(for the price) and has tons of games that are also cheap.
The PS3 and 360 will reach that market at least 2-3 years from now. Only then...
