to most people, swaping a HDD is not possible. And I think a lot of people would like BC and just get rid of their old PS2s. I do not own a PS2, it broke years ago and I never bought another one, I bought an XBox1 (and got screwed over by M$)...that being said, I do own some PS2 titles and would like to play other newer ones like GOW2, so for me BC is a big thing.

But I do agree that one can upgrade a 40GB PS3 with minor investment...and if the 40GB is getting BC via firmware...

about PS3's technical specs....on paper that is...being a geek, I was spinning circles when I read that the cell gets 2.18TF and the RSX 1.8TF. But now a year and a half later, I have yet to see ANY tangible results of this alien-like technology, yet my PC which may not even reach 1 TF (Q6600 + 8800GTX) gets amazing frame rates at max resolution (1680X1050) on all games except Crysis(I get around 20FPS at Max).

I now have my doubts about those numbers from Sony...don't get me ...

'You like having Tomonobu Itagaki stamp on your ego, rob your of sanity and piss down your throat.'

Taken out of context it might seem that he attacks Itagaki. Even if the terms used are not very professional I think he was referring to the difficulty of the game. Basically saying the game designer intentionally made the game frustrating so that your ego would take a hit as well as your sanity...and then some throat pissing

A game can be difficult without being frustrating...there is a line that should not be crossed there, this is not 1990.

What really frustrated me with NG1 was that the save points where strategically placed so that dying would be punished with the need to repeat fairly long sections of combat, and of course most boss fight would require you to figure out the pattern, usually this could not be do on the first try.

I think a game should not be designed on sequenc...

Mainly because I have it for free from MSDN and I have a new supped up PC...but now I'm seriously thinking about going back to XP, I don't know if it'll help with performance cause I am a little let down by my current PC's performance on some games...anyone can tell me if that's true?

I'm old, but have been gaming all my life. The main thing that I see different this generation is that it does not feel as big a step like in the old days...you went from 8-bit to 16-bit then to 3D...all these steps where accompanied by huge leaps in graphics and/or gameplay. The line between xBox and XBox360 was not that great when the 360 came out and the same can be said of the PS3.

The only one that really changed this generation is the Wii hense it's phenomenal success, i...

definition:
A bittersweet longing for things, persons, or situations of the past.

I rented FF7 for 3 weeks straight, it cost me more than if I had bought it, I almost flunked a couple classes because of it. I had played RPGs before but nothing quite like it. The sheer enjoyment of playing the story and the emotional attachment to the characters is what I remember.

There are other games that I am nostalgic about, games that I remeber playing from time t...

If you steal a loaf of bread, it's gone, if you download, the original copy is still there....it's 1s and 0s...not anything physical, hence nobody lost anything except if you think that people who download would otherwise buy...which is utter bull crap.

Lots of countries don't even have copyright laws, guess the price to live in the US is to take it in the behind and ask for more...please...most countries aren't even going to reveal the owner of an IP adress...On the other hand...

That's it, we have achieved perfection, no other game ever needs to be made cause you can't top perfection...right?

How credible can you be when you mention pop-in, some bugs here and there, frame rate drops and then say the game is perfect...it's not, it may be a 9.9 or 9.5 but not a ten...perfect means FLAWLESS and bugs are flaws.

Some games get points deducted for bugs but not games like GTA, Halo, MGS and FF...those games are excused.

I'm just ...

In 10 years, DD might kill BD, 10 years is what I call a good run for your money...by that time BD will be an established format with a huge user base that's not likely to throw everything away for DD...just like people are sticking with DVD right now.

For DD to really make an impact on BD it needs to be fully viable now, which it is not.

P.S: J'sais compter, mais sérieusement, pense-tu que l'industrie de la musique n'aurait pas préféré que le...

1. ISPs aren't ready to let you download 10-20gb HD movies...heck I have a 20gb cap on my downloads.

2. If I buy a movie I want to have a digital/physical backup...with DRM, I'm not sure they'd let me make copies.

3. Portability...I can easily bring a disc to a friend's house...I doubt they'll let me copy/move a downloaded movie.

4. Movie studios don't want DD right now...they're not ready.

5. There is no reason why they cannot co-e...

I don't consider 8800GTX SLI being mandatory for a PC to be Top Notch, I call this a Supped Up PC...Who has that kind of money anyways.

A good multi-core PC with 3Gb of Ram and at least an 8800GT, is a Top Notch PC at this time, it may not run Crysis at max resolution but it runs pretty much anything else at max resolution. I honestly think that the CryEngine architecture used in Crysis hasn't been optimized to it's fullest. I would expect Crysis 2 to be much less of a ress...

With their DRM`s, they are actually lowering the value of a legal song compared to an illegal one...Why would I pay for a song that is restrictive and for which I do not even own the rights...I can just download the illegal version for free without restrictions or anything.

It's so stupid that the RIAA can actually be able to go in and destroy a person`s credit, finances, reputation and maybe his life because of some bits and bytes that are worth absolutely nothing in the mater...

In my area there are no High Speed providers who don't impose download/Upload caps...and it sucks big time.

Basically you have to pay more to have the caps higher...they do give you more bandwith.

I'm actually starting to think that I'll have to piggy ride my neighbour's unprotected WiFi.

You see the same thing with Ford and Chevy, PC and Mac, HD-DVD and Blu-Ray, Liberal and Conservative, Second Cup and Starbucks, McDonals and Burger King, name it...people will take sides because it's much easier that being in the middle...if you like to argue.

The ones in the middle are the ones you don't hear about.

Edit: How could I forget the mother of all corporate battles...Coke or Pepsi.
