That's when the launch 360's warranty will expire...there are over 11m 360s out there that may be affected by RRoD. Since they don't send you a "fixed" 360(the new ones that are supposed to never get a RRoD) when yours fries, some gamers will have to fork the dough for another console then.

I know it's still a year from now but I think a lot of people are going to be looking for a way to induce the RRoD on their 360 with a soon to expire warranty...I know I would. ...

It dosen't matter, people that whatch Fox news have the attention span of a two year old, they already forgot the whole thing...It's not like they could afford a PS3 anyways.

Comparing this to the Soviet Union is far fetched. The way I see it is that in order to get people to want to remain in a certain area (e.g. Montreal) there needs to be an industry there.

What Quebec is doing is it's subsidizing these big companies so that they'll get established there, this in turn spawns many smaller dev shops, that may be independent or just help the big guys in specific areas of technology. Once you have a couple thousand people working and the industry ...

Gees, talk about wasting money...can't MS repair them?

You could probably buy a new gaming PC with all that money...I know, I know, thing don't always happen the way you'd like. But seriously, you bought it 3 times!!!

It may sound nice to have 20 000 things at once on screen and 5 million polygons but there's just the slight issue of having to actually code these games and create that content...Games this generation do look nice, but I just don't find that the quality of the content is better that last-gen's...maybe even worst.

Call of Duty 4 is 5-6 hours long!!!! The more realistic it becomes the more expensive it gets and the more time it takes to create them. We're hitting a barrier whe...

You are a joke...Halo is good, but not the mother of all FPS, and graphically, I had to remind myself from time to time that this was not Halo 2 (multiplayer anyways).

AC may not be as good as it was hyped to be, but it's not because of the PS3...it's because it's the first...it's a new concept, you know 'Innovation' the thing that makes gaming evolve. Ubisoft Montreal is a great studio, I would not base my purchase of this game on reviews...

In your case, don'...

Try telling that to a 14 year old kid...Gamerscore is all he's got going for him.

If PS3 was a major flop for it's first year, having two other competitors, then the 360 is an astronomical flop since it basically sold the same numbers in it's first years with no competition.

2 X 2900XT is like 1k right there...a general purpose quad core processor and 4Gb of ram...another k there...If you think the PS3 is expensive, this is way too much for a casual audience.

Just build yourself that rig and play PC games.

The Source engine cost Valve tens of millions (from their own pocket) and it was not designed from the start with multi-core in mind (my guess)...basically they blew their money on an engine that is already outdated...I'd be mad too, but he's basically burning his bridges here.

Suck it up Gabe, multi-core architecture ain't going away...is that a Quad Core that I hear humming?

I'm never buying a CD again...I'll pay to see a band live but I'll never buy a CD again (I honestly still buy CDs)...it's not piracy that's killing your business, it's your attitude.

A few years ago (like 150) there were no record labels, no mass recordings of any kind. Guess what! Music existed back then and has since the dawn of mankind...I agree that they were not making millions on that one hit, but hey maybe the free ride's over.

The music industry needs t...

So by this logic, Final Fantasy VI advance is a AAA title, not because it cost a lot to produce or market, even considering that this is a remake for the GBA, it averaged a score of 91% (in 2007).

About the space invaders thing...he meant that it WAS a AAA title back then, but TODAY even with updated graphics and such, it would be a B title, because it would ...

Considering that they'll only make 2000 each month, even if they loose 1000$ on each (which I doubt is that much), they would only make a loss of 200K a month. They probably invested hundreds of millions in the technology...they need to introduce it at an accessible price.

Their business portfolio is too diversified to be greatly affected by console sales. If I remember correctly Halo2's 1st day sells were something like 125 million $ (previous record). That's just slightly above what MSFT makes every day with Windows licensing only.

Both these companies do not rely on consoles for the majority of their income. MSFT's cash cows are Windows and Office and Sonys are electronics, movies and probably more.

MSFT stock may increase sl...

Hmm. I also played it at a friends...it's been on the Net for like a week.

My friend had his XBLive banned, because got caught playing one game, one time before the release date (don't ask me how he got it). Now he just doesn't care anymore, he modded his 360 and downloads every game.

Just for the record, I don't approve the modding part, but I sure appreciate it...

Uninformed douche!

M$ should recall all of the non-falcon ones when/if this fixes the issue. Sooner or later, some 360s will break after the 3 year warranty...then again PS2s broke a lot and people kept buying another.

M$ and $ony know they have gamers by the balls.

By my logic, if you own a full library of PS2 titles, are looking for a BD player (if it wins) the PS3 starts to look very attractive at a competitive price point.

I'm speculating here, I may be wrong and I don't hate the 360 (I really enjoy it), I just think that it's a possibility if everything goes right with BD, that the casual maket deceides to adopt the PS3 because you'd get more for your money.

The console war is barely started, I find that this number is conservative since a lot of non-gamers, that did not own any last-gen systems, are now picking up the Wii. That being said, the total number of consoles sold right now stands between 25-30 million. That's very little compared to the prospective sales.

Casual gamers are still picking up PS2s (and are buying lots of games for it). I can see the bulk of them adopting the PS3 when they feel that the time and price is ...

I kinda agree with this article *Puts arms up to protect face*, I'm not that excited either...I'm actually more afraid that it might not live up to MY (I said MY) expectations. The hype is ridiculous, all I hear is Halo this and Halo that.

I've got my young cousins all excited about it and they never even played H1 or 2 (they had a PS2). I just hope the thousands that will buy this game because it's the thing to do, but haven't played the first two, won't be expecting more th...
