There's a flaw to this
"The gameplay is real-time but the visuals are already predetermined and that is why if you done the same thing 1000 times there will only be 1 or 2 outcomes"
You forget that games do have scripted actions. Scripted actions does not necessarily mean pre-rendered.
Let's not get ahead of yourself too much. Everyone here can spout numbers of how mighty the graphics card or Cell is. The fact is, none of you guys are the enginee...
what i come to realize from the GTTV gow3 video is...
you don't even have to be a monster, a god, or be in a video game for kratos to kick your silly ass. He can blow our minds away in a short fp annihilation.
weren't there people saying Dante's Inferno looked better than this?
Anyway, I think we can safely say this game is GOTY just from that video alone.
For some reason, I miss the old school PS2 look of Kronos. Someone should get get a comparison gif of the two. Such a huge difference!
Just saw the first few minutes of GT right now. Man couldn't believe some of those scenes really looked like CG, but with the 9 hit combo on the right side and the QTE popping up now and then it was really all in-game. hermes boots are awesome!
Edit: Interesting.. they had a scene of hades getting beat by kratos w/o his helmet. At least I think it's hades. He has all these spikes coming out of him.
@Blacksmoke: yea everyone here are like kids opening up their bda...
^ exactly. It doesn't matter if the textures are high or low res. Point being, as long as it looks great for their intended use it's all good.
If this was originally intended to be a multiplat game... doesn't it mean the PS3 could run it too?
like above said, you can easily hide low res textures when the gameplay is primarily in dark environments. This applies to every game. No game is exempt. If you were a developer, you would also feel it completely redundant to use high res textures in a level that is primarily dark. There's just no point.
Another way to hide low res textures is also to apply a certain color to the entire level. Say for example, brown in KZ2, the dark gray in Gears2, and the ambient bloom in c...
I was hoping they'd change this little thing ... not sure if you guys noticed... but as far as attention to detail is concerned ... I hate how the chains to the blades are so much larger than the chains wrapped around his arms.
@exnihilonihilfit
Myth was on the PC too. I played both on PC and absolutely loved Oni. I think Bungie should create another myth rts. At least do it for the fans of the game.
Do people really care? It's another multiplat comparison. Shouldn't we all just be grateful everyone (except the Wii crowd) gets to enjoy the FF13 game?
^ oh be quiet you. The difference here is that it's an exclusive game with content that could be had in the JPN version. You don't hear people blaming MS when a content is cut from a 360 exclusive game then put out as DLC. What you're hearing is people complaining about content cuts from multiplat games when clearly the content could've been put in the br version.
Think before you post your trolling carp you instigator.
it's stupid they cut it off. w t f ? They have hostess clubs here too. Sheesh.
I understand that much that DLC is a way for them to continue generating revenue, but without a way to resale it I just don't appreciate spending money on something that can't go along with the physical game if I wanted to resale that.
I remember it was the case with selling my Wii. I had tons of those virtual games on it before I sold it off on ebay. Buyer asked if those games could be kept but sadly they couldn't because my CC info had to remain on the system for them to func...
Yea that's what I'm saying. On the PS side if you think about it, those that got the PSeye and/or EyeToy only found its use in some games. It's not mandatory like the Wiimotes. The wand just serves to add more purpose to the PSeye, but if only 20%-40% of developers will utilize it, that's not enough for ME to justify a purchase of it - simply because it's not mandatory.
The same goes with the Natal. If it isn't mandatory, why purchase it on day one? Just to try out motion co...
Sadly I wished the ME2 miranda scenes weren't prerendered. I think those MGS4 scenes weren't prerendered either since they allowed some interactivity, though that's not to say all of the scenes weren't.
I wonder if posting on n4g is Bungie's job.
I really hope the hardcores don't bundle up purchasing the natal on day one expecting to play hardcore games or control the UI with it. Afterall, sure they said it's available on paper but where's a live demo of it? They better show us something new during E3. The break ball thing is getting old.
I don't know about you guys, but I sure hate purchasing an accessory only to have minimal use for it.
@jason
who cares. the 360 is already millions ahead.
I tell you guys man... I've posted it before and I'll post it again. The ending to GoW3 is probably something to do with killing zeus and ending mythology. It'll be a game where years from now people will be like "hey you remember GoW?" and long discussions will be held centering around Kratos. Kinda like how it's been many years and people still talk about FF7.
