It's funny you mention this because I remember that EU launch very well with the boat in the river and the massive banner.
I noticed a lot in the article the mentioning of the word "costs"
If those rumors of a $99 360 are to be true, Microsoft could easily create a $199-249 sku with included Natal. Consumers will be faced with the dilemma of going home with a $99 360 which... is inexpensive but lacking, or go home with a reasonably priced sku with the extras.
Effectively it would be like the dilemma we all faced when thinking of getting a Premium or Core bundle, or Elite vs Ar...
You get vignettes and possibly added motion blur. The stuff you get from photo editing in Aperture and Lightroom, of course ... applied to a video game replay in motion.
Anyway I just played PGR4 again over the weekend to get away from FF13 and I realized something I feel missing in the GT5 vids. Realistic driving experience. In PGR4 the camera in the driver's perspective would bump, sway, and tilt in response to the imperfections of the road or the over/understeer of the vehi...
Titan mode wasn't too bad. Once you got the enemies (their weaknesses and strengths) and the boss movements figured out, it was really easy. Of course, in titan mode, you 'can not' button mash. That's a strategy that will not work.
Though, I found grabs and the bow to be my best weapons in titan mode. While you're avoiding hits, might as well strike back with the bow right?
The Wii. Hah. Even the kids at home got tired of it.
After reading about Black & White. So true. A girl gamer and I got BW and BW2, and though we both liked the games, we felt they fell really short on what Peter promised. I remember before each of those games came out, he hyped them so much in the conferences demoing them. And it feels he's still at it.
Don't know about you guys, but XboxOZ is one of those more rational gamers found here on n4g. He may game on the 360 but a fanboy he isn't.
Well Kratos moved the box out of the temple in GoW1, which immediately led to Zeus banishing Chronos to Tartarus.
Assuming like someone said above that Kratos became a god and did not age, we would never know for sure just how long he was a god in GoW2 before becoming mortal again.
It's a bit far fetched though to believe Chronos walked "for a 1000 years" because that would mean before GoW3, Kratos would've been a god for at least 1000 years. You would thi...
raise a very good point. GoW was supposed to be just one game. Then it got successful enough to spin off two other games to make a trilogy.
@DatNJ
He had a brother? I remember that scene but I wondered who they meant by the other pawn.
Gamecube level graphics on a handheld? I wonder if it'll be using cartridges.
@3XP:
what you fail to see is that in the video of the Socom demo, the reticule is independent of the character's movements similar to the way RE4 Wii and RE5 Move demo handles things. If you ever played a Wii fps like COD you would know it's a horrible way to play. But here on the other hand because the reticule is independent, it's a much smoother and better experience than even keyboard/mice fps. So no, the Socom demo and how the Move was implemented isn't really a feasible...
From the tech demos of the Move and the games of the Wii, I realize that Nintendo's offering isn't that innovative in terms of motion control at all. Practically almost all its games rely on gesture motion. So far, the Move shows it's able to provide 1:1 motion or go the gesture route, and I'm looking forward to 1:1 motion. But if developers only utilize gesture control, then it'll be Wii all over again.
Now MS on the other hand, they are truly slow though they improve on an...
@Blaze: The whole point of that Socom 4 demonstration with the Move is to show the versatility of the device and that developers can use it for a variety of other ideas outside of bodily movements. If you think the Move was designed for games utilizing strictly bodily movements then you need to think outta the box. Anyway, if you watch the video you'll see that the character and reticule move independently of each other just like RE4 on the Wii, except it plays more like an fps and none of ...
So when did Sony call Nintendo's hardware a gimmick? AFAIK it was the gamers before the Wii was released that called it a gimmick.
Precision motion control + programmable/mappable 'nunchuk' controller + RTS = new age of console rts.
In my humble opinion, Sony isn't the first to miniaturize or slim down a console. However, I feel that Sony is the first to literally put that word's meaning to reality with the PS2 slim. It is by far a real "slim" device.
I think it's completely wrong to call the new PS3 redesign a slim because the fact is it isn't that slim at all. Besides, nobody really ever called a video game console slim before the PS2 slim. Sony redesigned the PSX to the PSone and the industr...
@ Mr. Logic:
I wasn't aware SCC is coming out this early. I thought it'd be further down towards June. To be honest, I put my $59.99 preorder on AW before I did SCC thinking Remedy's game would come out sooner. I think I got the two release dates mixed up.
@cgoodno
Well I didn't disagree with you and I just read your comments anyway. I think part of the big reason why MS exclusives sell really well is because of the marketing. Now marketing includes many different things such as cover art, packaging, bonuses, radio, tv, magazine, billboards. Microsoft has an excellent team over at marketing and it's something they excel very well in. Sony for the most part has always been in engineering and electronics. That's something Sony ...
Minidisc was actually quite the popular item in Japan back in the day. It also had its niche here in the US within the music industry. It's just that cassettes were big during the day, and the transition to compact discs was smooth provided there were ample support from the home stereos that played CDs, portable players, and car radios too [even today]. Minidisc on the other hand was popular enough among the niche crowd that some imported Japanese aftermarket radios with minidisc/CD suppor...
