Ah, this happened with books, rock-n-roll, and TV. Gaming stigma will pass as our generation grows up and gets into positions of power.
I will admit however, that our society's 'class wars' seem to harbour agression and anger which gaming and other mediums seem to release. If we can figure out how to mitigate these problems we'll find the pressure to censor everything is reduced--because we solved the root of the problem rather than it's reflection.
Amazing what people can do with Blizzard's engines. Valve's Source is one thing, but a debate game out of an RTS engine? Cool.
Yep, too late. If they would have released it alongside the 360/PC version it probably would have sold better--but 4 months later? No thanks.
Hell yeah. $800 got me a machine that runs everything at 1080P 30FPS.
Not to mention if you're resourceful you might not even need to purchase the game...
No one believe Patcher. He's incredibly out of touch.
Although a trade-in option would be amazing, since 'used' games wouldn't be sold the developers would still make money.
8.8? What happened to their .5 scale?
People who think trading is dumb simply don't understand the economics behind it.
It has nothing to do with ripping yourself off and everything to do with maximizing your utility from gaming.
Day one.
That's a good idea.
Move = more accuracy. Period. Although separating them might balance the game more, it might also decrease the amount of available games--inconveniencing Move gamers.
I'm there. What time does the store update on Tuesdays? 5pm-ish CST?
I think you've been playing too much Medal of Honor.
I appreciate your perspective, but I'm not sure I get your point from your last post...what exactly are we talking about again?
If you're so well-versed in European History why the knee-jerk reaction to Nazi censorship? Especially considering your statement: "You'd swear to god the German public didn't support Nazi Germany in the 30's and 40's. "
It seems to me, if you understood the reason for censorship you'd acknowledge it was done AFTER the war simply BECAUSE the German people did support the Nazi regime during the 30's/40's---making your sarcasm seem more...
Violence is censored like nudity is here.
Over there they lose the blood and gore but get the boobs and sex on regular TV. Here we lose the boobs and get the gore.
Dude, seriously, get a history lesson.
This censorship is a RESULT of Nazi rule in the 30's. The Allies (USA) didn't want another fascist pro-nazi government so they banned all imagery associated with the party. Censoring violence was just an extension of that fear.
Their constitution was basically set up by the US/UK/France.
Yes, you are. This article was posted approx. 10-15 minutes before the one you submitted. If you were to check the approval times you'd see this was posted first. The time you're referring to was the 'approved' time, thus this article was approved 3 minutes after you posted yours--making it look like it was 'submitted' after yours but in reality it was submitted before yours, but approved after--making your submission a duplicate.
There is no 'joys...
Day One purchase for me.
Remember, it's not Activision who's developing this game--it's Treyarch. Activision just pays the bills.
Credit is given when credit is due.
Doubt it. Weapon unlocks maybe, customizations--probably not.
I agree. That's just called parenting though, not censorship.
