I'd agree with most of that, but you seem just as guilty in misconstruing Spencer's comments--just in a different way rather than blind hype.
When it comes to prior comments about power, he said last year that :"The same team that delivered unprecedented performance with Xbox One X is deep into architecting the next Xbox consoles, where we will once again deliver on our commitment to set the benchmark for console gaming."

MS couldn't afford to not do a show, though.
The tit-for-tat PS5 vs. Scarlett talk is going to continue for some time. Nobody will show their cards until they have to.
I don't think they would get the same MSM attention from an interview after Cerny's though. So there's that.
Curious what they meant by 4x more powerful.
The same studio that made Kung Fu chaos, too.
15 years later, it looks like they're borrowing from all their past titles to try something unique.
Fair. But my question to Google is simply whether they think this is aggressive enough to compete against the stream options of Sony and MS? I don't think it is.
Sony is saying that they are doubling down on PSNow, and we have a pretty good idea that xcloud will be pushed pretty aggressively too. If those services are on PC and mobile, companies who are aiming at that same non-console owning demographic are keeping their advantage in this competition.
Yeah, you're not shifting anything...
I'm sure the fine people at the PC show would appreciate knowing that they already "won" E3 since we judge based on sales now.
You're just reaffirming my original comment, and you went too far off the fanboy rails on that last one for me. Enjoy your preferred console, and I hope you have fun combing through the coverage next week for all of the sales numbers you crave.
Skull and Bones fan, are you?
Seriously though, a release date for TLOU2 would have been nice, but this list isn't that remarkable.
Just call a spade a spade. It's just PR speak from Ryan. Afterall, "it's all in the timing," right?
PS4 couldn't feasibly do BC so he downplayed its importance. PS5 can do it, so he's highlighting it as a feature.
Remember he also said that he didn't understand why we'd want to play ancient PS1 games with their bad graphics. A year later? The PS Mini is out to try to cash in.
The guy is selling his syst...
I think it's perfectly valid to say you grade one show higher because of your personal tastes. But that's not what you said.
Stick to your original premise: "When it comes to Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo it matters more who showed more stuff relevant to their platform."
Your personal tastes aside, it's foolish to think that Halo, Gears, and Forza aren't relevant to that platform. Games like Cyberpunk, DMC, and Sekiro are pretty ...
@TGGJustin
It's never been about just exclusives either. That's only true if you judge E3 conferences based on your console war scale. E3 conferences have always been about ALL the games to me.
Otherwise Sony would never show off 3rd parties at their past conferences. Also, sucks that 3rd Parties like Ubi can never "win" E3 since they have no "Exclusives."
Why must something as meaningless as "who won E...
So I guess there's truth to this?

I guess you're just too subtle, cleft5.
The "correction" by way of a Serena Williams bra size article is probably the best thing I've seen on this site.
OT: I don't think they were criticizing "them," as much as they are saying that the game checks all of the typical anime boxes.
I can't tell if you're joking or just that confused. Either way - it's impressive!
You're surprised that something as popular as Fortnite gained more attention?
Lol. I'm sure if they listened to your brilliant ideas, it would be even more successful? Just give credit where it's due, and keep the salt focused on something a little better suited to critcisms.
It's literally the best selling game of all time. It's sold over 100 million since MS stepped in. They must be doing something right.
An "onslaught" of content is exactly what they were smart to avoid. Many feared that MS would interj...
Not all console GP games are playable on PC. I'm guessing that not all PC gamepass games will be playable on console either.
The handful of Play Anywhere title worked for now, but you'll have two different services with two (mostly) different catalogues of games.
Expect them to be seperate but Play Anywhere games probably still universal.
"Not in subscribers"
Fanboy nonsense aside, you really think GP hasn't topped PS Now's 700k subs?
You can choose to disregard MS saying they already have millions of subs if you want, I suppose. By all means, go buy some MS stock and fire off a 10b-5 suit for misleading investors to prove them wrong.
But common sense tells me that they do have more than 700k subs. As aggressive as they've been in pricing and market...
@ Ceaser
I agree. My point is, launching the game at the same time as the PS5 isn't a terrible idea, especially if they won't be reselling a seperate "remastered" version later.
It might be a nice "launch" game for PS5, even if the same game (and same disc) is playable on the PS4. Just like BotW on WiiU/Switch, but only this time, the same game disc is playable on both.
Nobody can ever really say why it's a bad feature (bc it's not). So we get console war BS (including the "it's all MS's attempt to smear by beloved"). That thread shows what most people already know: xplay is a good thing.
If true, this move with COD would be huge to me personally. COD4 was when I first really wanted xplay.
I was in a clan during PS2/Xbox days. It was easy. Xbox was for Halo guys and PS2 was for the SOCOM guys. W...
Hopefully it does all work. PC vs. Console always raises concerns, but we'll see.
That thread you linked was fun to scroll through. It's full of genuine excitement and early trash talking. Good stuff to see instead of the typical: "nobody wants crossplay" whining we see from some on forums.
I'm also glad that PC players will hopefully have access to more populated lobbies. COD on PC has had issues. MKb advantages might need addressed...
Well he was obviously talking about hardware. I just don't think saying that they're committed to setting the benchmark on hardware is as direct as saying:
"Spencer adamantly stated how they'd always have the most powerful console for the past two years."
