Well I'll be damned...they actually gave us a roadmap. I don't know who this West guy is, but at least somebody there understands what they need to do to market this thing.

I noticed that they say monthly announcements, but skip from May to July in the details. What's planned for June?

Personally, I think the June show should be entirely about Halo. End the May show with a tease for a Halo show next. Leave the other studios in the July show a...

If it's not coming from an employee or someone with knowledge of the conditions at the studio, than it lends less credibility to the allegation that the leaker acted in response to poor conditions. Now they can say that there's no truth to those allegations AND the leaker had no way of knowing about conditions within the studio anyway.

I agree with Fishy. It was important to get that piece of this story rehabilitated ASAP. This informatio...

Not up to the TGG standards?

Is there a seperate tab for opinion pieces that "offer a view that isn't easily regurgitated by anyone else on N4G, let alone doesn't look like something we've heard a hundred times over?"

I'm just curious because I recently was reading the thought-provoking and unique writeup going over what went wrong with BFV, and I followed that up by learning about whether or not Days Gone reviewers got it wrong.

I'm sure we won't be seeing the very mature and objective PS "fans" trying to shit on this presentation, right?

If MS can get a single sound bite even alluding to these games "playing best" on Series X, then it's probably mission accomplished for them.

Doing a 3rd party show helps with the direct comparisons to PS, and helps with their relationships with these 3rd parties generally. They then get to build hype again for t...

@Ultra

They did it with Sekiro, and Elden Ring was revealed at Xbox E3 showing last year. I'd be surprised if they weren't at the Xbox show, actually.

I'm a sucker for all AC games, so you might need a more objective review. But Odyssey was great in my opinion, and it was nominated for GOTY for good reason in my view.

Now, it's very bloated with content. That can be a turnoff for many. If you're looking for a linear 20-30 hr. title, Odyssey isn't it. If you're looking for an open world RPG with lots of variety (stealth, action, ship battles, etc.) then it's fantastic.

Just go i...

I said it before too. Whoever they have in there now is doing a great job. Clear, direct, confident, and focused on games.

Compare that to 2013 - confusing, vague, arrogant, and focused on cable and movie studios.

I know CG trailer...not real gameplay...etc. etc.

But I'm sold. I'm hopeful that the conquest elements from Odyssey are really expanded upon.

I fully understood Booty's comments. I just don't think all of these titles listed will be cross gen.

You guys read the list of titles in the article, right? You think these all release in that 1 to 2 year period Booty was talking about?

I'd be impressed if they do.

They're not exactly getting a very positive reaction from most who did read/watch the spoilers though.

Intentional or controlled leaks happen all the time to varying degrees of success. This truly seems like an angry ex employee wanted to hurt them.

??

So just Halo (long confirmed to be cross gen) and Forza? Those make sense if they hit 2020/2021.

Everwild, Hellblade, Obsidian project, etc. have no release dates, so I'm not sure how they fit into that 18-24 month window. Maybe they do, but I'm leaning towards 2022 or later if I had to guess release dates.

The article mentions a bunch of 3rd parties, some of which I brought up because your comment didn't make sense to m...

No. I would guess 2022.

I never had the impression that Hellblade II was going to be one of the cross gen titles. I could see Everwild being one, but if it's not out until 2022 or so, I doubt it. Then again, the graphical style will make it very scalable, so it could be.

If Starfield and Elder Scrolls VI are cross gen, it would be a waste. I don't see either releasing anytime soon, so why would they go back to X1 compatibility? It also means that they wouldn't have updated their engi...

Agree with you, and there's even more to gain imo. I always thought Nintendo had a good model. Even with their console and handheld teams being placed together now, you still see a mix of team and game sizes delivering a mix of AA and AAA games. That's why they have the talent pool that they have.

A smaller sub-team can go off and make these smaller or more niche products that not only offer variety to the catalog, but can help develop talent. Using Ninja Theory...

Majority of younger fans, maybe. VII gets a bump because of the huge marketing and push it received on PS1, but VI/III will forever be the stronger title imo.

Without "funding", how else could a small indie studio like Activision pay to develop such a niche title like COD?!

They wrote them a check for 1 month exclusivity same as they've done all gen. It's just a nicer way of saying it.

You guys try so hard.

Seems like MS made good moves focusing on those areas, too. They built a solid machine. They also have the perceived power advantage. Now, here are devs praising Xb with the exact same rhetoric as the comments we see about Sony.

Then there's the rest of the specs too. Despite so much effort wasted trying to put the PS5 ahead in this early spec race, no one has articulated how its SSD will actually result in something better than...

The biggest leap in terms of what we actually play will come in the CPU and memory. So if you can have an entry level product that can match FPS, AI, and gameplay advancements, but with graphics and effects turned down, it sounds like a smart strategy to offer the option.

A lot of console gamers are reluctant to see change, but this model is followed by countless other consumer products. As far as the "different architecture" excuse, by developing these models at...
