OK, what Wasabi says makes sense.

Github deep-divers aside, can we all agree that people posting pigeon riddles isn't the best way to investigate console specs in the future?

Because it's 7 years later?

I wasn't even referring to those morons. I'm mostly referring to the Gaf/Era crusaders. Not a single one was correct.

Should be a lesson for all of us, but I suspect it won't change much.

I wasn't expecting full PS3, PS2, and PS1 support.

I think most of us WERE expecting full PS4 BC though.

This is very odd.

They all completely skipped over 10. Nostradamus would be proud.

So about those "verified" insiders...

Should be a solid system. Hoping for $399.

If it is an acquisition, my guesses are still either Asobo or Techland.

Asobo has the history with MS. Now that we've seen they can do solid work outside of smaller stuff (Plagues Tale was fantastic and FS looks ridiculous), I have a higher opinion of them.

Techland would be huge, and would explain the sudden delay of DL2.

Or they could have just renamed an internal sub-studio. We'll see I guess.

No shame in needing to prioritize. We all have more important things to spend money on right now.

I expect these systems are going to be very similar. If they're both going to be 12tf or more with the SSDs on top, I really want to see where they come in at for price.

The more powerful, the less sleek they'll be. Curious if Sony also goes functional design over aesthetics like the X.

I'm 50/50 on whether they do or not.

Price is still the biggest question in my view, but I'm not expecting that for a while.

He came out and said that he's relying on information from unnamed "friends" of his.

It's no different than a known journalist relying on his/her unnamed sources. This whole thing is laughable at this point.

Either allow rumors or don't.

Yep. To be fair, he'll block you for just about anything.

Funny post the other day from Kotaku- Despite Schreier's crusade for workers rights at other companies, his own employer is just now, in 2020, deciding to compensate salaried staff for working extra hours from home.

Maybe clean up your own messes before telling others what to do...

Only unbelievable if you discredited all of the numerous rumors. Too much smoke for it not to be true.

This game will do great on PC. I'm just imagining the mods to a thunderjaw now...

There's an article floating around that explains it a bit better, but it ultimately comes back to the license agreement between pubs and places like Valve. In that agreement, Valve is allowed to distribute the game to us in a manner consistent with the terms of the agreement. Nvidia are interjecting themselves into the supply line so to speak.

GFN isn't part of that agreement between me & you and Steam, or the one between Steam and the pubs. Valve doesn't s...

They're saying it's an unauthorized distribution of their content. Essentially, the devs are saying that their agreement is with Valve, not Nvidia, so they lose control over its path to consumers without any agreement in place.

We should make no mistake, though. They're really concerned with their inability to secure distribution agreements (paid) with services like Stadia, psnow, xcloud, etc. It's also been suggested that, because GN essentially let's y...

It's hard to take the devs and pubs side on this.

The real arguments from the devs who are against it are based on their inability to plan out how they monetize their games. That is certainly a valid reason not to want get on board with a service like this, but it's hard to side with them.

We paid them for their game. People who might not be able to afford a good pc may be inclined to purchase a game they otherwise couldn't. Nvidia foots the b...

I'd ask why you wouldn't just use your phone for doing those things, but then I'd also wonder why they don't use their phones for porn too.

And then there's the little fact that production means people are working.

Nothing says "respect" more than laying off thousands of employees who rely on getting paid to produce, ship, and transport goods.

@Larry

Nope. That sounds like the same predictions we heard for the 1X. People foolishly predicted $600, $700 for that, too.

I can't see anyone going the "$599 US dollars" route, let alone $700. Selling for a loss would be less harmful than pricing it that high.
