I've played through DOS2 on PC multiple times and bought it again on Switch. My take is pretty much the opposite of the reviewer each step of the way.

For story, I always felt like the early story was cliche until the twists started to materialize in the 2nd half. But it may also depend on who your main was in each, if you went with a preset character.

For gameplay, if you were on the lowest difficulty and got beat down that much, you were doing some...

Somebody just needs to rework the original Bloomberg story so that it can get approved and debated for a day, and everyone can move on. I suspect that just spinning it in a more positive light ought to do it.

Or, turn the original story into a riddle and post it on Gaf or Era first. Better yet, ask Phil Spencer to tweet about it!

Oh well, there's pleanty of other interesting news to read. I think I'll go see if an indie dev gave Gamingbolt an...

While I'm confident that PS5 will be produced in greater numbers than the SX in the end, MS and AMD are working together on the larger cloud business with EPYC chips, in addition to their goal to transition all xcloud servers to the SX. Then there's still the Lockhart situation.

MS has enough pots in the fire with AMD to gain some pretty significant bargaining power for good pricing.

You'll get downvoted for this of course, but the point is valid.

I was excited for the "haptic" triggers on the Xbox One until I came to see that only Forza really used them. Same thing with HD rumble on Switch.

DS4's motion controls, touch pad, lightbar, and share button have been worthless to me. Couldn't care less if they drop them all. I don't have high hopes that we'll get much new use out of the new DS triggers either...

If you take Minecraft out of the equation, larger successes like Rust or subnautica still aren't what I'd consider mainstream.

I love TLoU, but you get an upvote from me.

I love that some genres get labeled as tired, but others, despite there objectively being many, many more of them, never get critiqued like that.

Everyone said Battle Royale games were "tired" because we saw an influx of what, a dozen of them? Yet in 2020 Warzone is bringing in 50 million players? Yeah, tired alright...

These survival games are niche, but they certainly have a plac...

If that recent video is accurate, MS has apparently worked to reduce latency by 75%.

I know you feel compelled to console war these things for whatever sad reason you may have, but I hope they exceed DS4 latency too. Then I hope the Dualsense has also focused as much on latency, improving it on PS5 as well.

As nice as these systems will be, it's foolish to think that they couldn't be improved upon in 3-4 years.

I saw your link. Two things: 1) it's 13 years old. As we've seen, the market has evolved to the point where consumers fully grasp the idea of multiple versions of hardware offering varying price and performance points, and 2) I agree with the writer's explanation for why Sony discontinued the cheaper model, and it's not quite as simple as you t...

You're on a dedicated gaming site. Chances are the more casual gamer or budget-conscious buyer might not be the typical demographic here who you're apparently referring to.

I'm sure MS would be perfectly happy if the Series S sells less than the X. Same as I'm sure that Nintendo doesn't mind the Switch Lite selling less, or when the Xbox 360 Arcade version sold less, or the 20gb PS3, etc. It's an option for a portion of your user base.

Exactly. The idea of going back to pub lobbies with every random being mic'ed is not something I would be excited about.

Problem is, the people who you would want to see turn the mic off will leave it on. It'll be worse than the early 360 days. Be prepared to be muting a lot of nonsense.

And sorry, but we've been dealing with janky voice commands for generations. You can probably go back to some old Kinect articles and find comments just like yours where people believed that they would get this new level of control.

The vast majority of gamers will leave the mic on...

Same. I'm still planning to wait a bit, and I'll probably still not buy them at the same time even then.

So launch lineups aren't as important to me as what comes in 2021.

Well, weebos are certainly "enthusiastic," I'll agree with that. But I suspect some of these guys are feeling a "sensation" that many of the rest of us are not...The mech ones are funny though.

The overall design is very nice. Two-tones aren't my thing, but some of the mocked variants are simply gorgeous. I'll go with the classic colors or all white in a heartbeat.

I'm with vallancer. I'm glad it's got the size and more of the general shape of the Xbox controller. Maybe we'll even get offset sticks at some point for those of us that prefer it in an elite model or something.

It's not a negative that they took some influence from the Xb controller. Best move from Nintendo was doing the same with their Pro controller. People seem overly eager to needlessly defend smart choices.

I'm not a fan of ...

I mean, all press is good press, I guess. The big push about the logo seemed to be equal parts excitment and ridicule though.

Similarly, "xbox controller" was trending No.1 apparently right after the DS5 announcement. As the memes and gifs comparing the new design started rolling in, I don't think the reception was entirely as Sony had hoped...

That messaging started before now. Remember, when MS invited DF out to do their X deep dive? They repeatedly pushed locked clocks to the DF guys.

Then they allow DF to release their preview a couple of days before Cerny's talk.

It was planned PR and shows that MS knew exactly what Sony had going on in the PS5. I don't know who is responsible for the type of PR that we're seeing from MS now, but I assume it is not the same as 2013 because they...

Did you reply to your own lame joke with it's own shit post of randomness?

2121d ago 6 agree3 disagreeView comment

Yep, FUD. Remember your SATA comments?

The X does not have "more low quality CUs." The RDNA2 CUs are the same. X has 40% more CUs, while Sony has its lower count running about 20% faster (if that max GPU number is maintained). Far cry from 2x faster like you made up. It's an interesting contrast that won't be fully explored until multiplat devs start showing games.

Big questions still remain for both (like how PS5 RT is going to be han...

But I thought subs reduce the value of games? Wasn't that the big doom and gloom talking point?

If you're on a budget, use the sub to gain access to newer, more expensive games sooner. Continue to buy games you want to own when they later hit bottom prices.

Or go PC and get deep discounts on games right now.

In today's market, there are so many ways to game at a discount. The "but I want to own my games" excuse gr...
