The total cost of the game was $250 million.
Advertising WAS only $10 million.
HOWEVER, MGS still reports a negative margin in financial status. They have yet to get a black mark at all. Ever. And considering that they have done nothing but consistently LOST money ever since the creation of the first Xbox I doubt they could ever EVER recoup any of that total loss.

I've never ever EVER seen a Sony "fandroid" contest the numbers at VG Chartz when it showed the PS3 console sales down and out. I for one have never contested their authenticity. The PS3 version has sold more than the PC version last time I checked and it's sales figures were actually quite impressive for a game that people tried their damnedest to downplay because it was hitting the PS3 first.
Couldn't have said it better myself. Not every game on the 360 is going to blow up right out of the gate and thats even with advertising on its side. Mass Effect had a HUGE advertising campaign that was even tacked on with Battlestar Galactica Razor with Sci-Fi....still only sold 700k in total so far.

Honestly I can't see why you even support the Xbox 360 as much as you do. It has done nothing but stifle the sales of countless RPG's that would be best suited for another platform.
