Since everyone is tallying up scores shouldn't it really be counted like:

Toshiba - 1

Consumer - 0??

Because, really, delaying the end of this format war is doing nothing but harming the HD format's chances of penetrating the market to try and raise optical disc sales. Why people are clinging to the HD-DVD is beyond me and its blatantly obvious that the overall worldwide consumer has preferred Blu-Ray over HD-DVD.

For gods sakes Univ...

With Adobe introducing BR format program discs in to the market, Apple producing iMAC's with Br drives, and Dell (largest PC provider) already offering Blu-Ray drives (even the writable and re-writable kinds) for months now doesn't this kinda trump the HD-DVD presence in the computer market?

Why are people posting stories on a PS3 vs. 360 comparison of the Lost Planet port when the website in question is using the old stock photos from the PS3 version when it was announced back in September?

We saw those same comparison pictures months ago, and yet the final version of the game is a really long ways off. I guess Videogamer.com thinks its awesome to compare finished products to unfinished alphas.

Why cant we make comparisons of the two when....oh I do...

I mean, I know you guys are upset that you -lost- to the Blu-Ray format but you don't have to act like a bunch of sore losers. I'm pretty sure I could go back to about the end of november and early december when the comments on this site said nothing but "Transformers and the HD-DVD stand alone players will trounce the Blu-Ray format. HD-DVD is the wave of the future!"

But now that your all facing defeat all of a sudden HVD is supposed to be the knight in shining armo...

I don't have an Xbox 360 but that would suuuucck. My nephew got one for Christmas so I hope that his achievements aren't being erased or something due to the Live problems. He hasn't been able to play COD4 through an entire game without getting kicked off ever since he got it...

Question: Wouldn't the loss of Achievements also remove the accumulation of gamerscore points? It didn't say in the article that specific points were lost (if it actually did then I am basically overloo...

Isn't CNET owned by Microsoft? I can't remember where I had heard or read that but I think it is maybe?

Anyways, if so then how telling is it when a news source supposedly operated by MS actually comes out and says that the HD-DVD is effectively dead?

If Cnet isnt owned by MS then disregard this but still....you see what i'm saying.

Even though some of the HDD downloads are mandatory they can always be deleted at a later date to save up room for your PS3.

Remember, deleting system data does not mean you lose progress data. They are seperate from each other and system data can be deleted without worrying about losing all of your stats or saved games.

The site is now asking everyone to start emailing Warner and he has given a huge list of emails.

I think that all of us Blu-Supporters should take his advice and email Warner and tell them what an absolutely wonderful job they are doing by finally backing BR exclusively.

I'd like to point out that the "report" that the link site mentions is nothing more than a paragraph that states that an "inside source" came up with this information a day after Warner went exclusive.

No source given outside of a "mysterious insider". This is basically a hit piece.

This is a hit piece set to try and attack the BDA. After the whole stink applied to the Paramount/Dreamworks deal to go HD-DVD )despite its losing numbers) this must be the "evaluated steps" that the HD-DVD group was talking about when they cancelled their CES event.

Also, Warner already debunked this and said they didn't take any payoff to switch to BR exclusive. However, despite the claims that Toshiba/Microsoft paid off Paramount they have NEVER denied those claims...

whoa...

I can't wait to see the kind of damage control thats going to come out of the HD-DVD camp. I just have a feeling that with the announcement that somewhere someone just crapped their pants from the reverberating "brown tone" that Warner Bros. just sounded off.

Ah, let me guess....your talking about the Crusades aren't you? Yeah, lots of bad people got all mixed in with the good during that one. Won't EVEN deny you that one, but lets not forget why they all began in the first place.

Murderous caliphate began rushing across the middle east, ruined about 5 grand civilizations, and then stole Jerusalem and the holy land away from its people before trying to invade europe.

Not talking about Christianity there.

One thing always intrigued me about the gaming community.

They always seem to be predominantly democrat and always go out on a limb to support people like Obama, Clinton, Edwards, and just about everyone that doesn't affiliate themselves with the Republican party but it's always the democrats that lead the charge in banning or censoring video games.

Either that or they go the completely opposite direction and fall off the deep end and end up supporting Ron "...

I'm a Christian and I believe in "those stories like Cain and Abel" but I also play GTA and I could totally rule the arcade back during the Mortal Kombat days.

So, thanks for trying to paint people who value religious practices as a bunch of whining, fun-hating, zealotous pricks.

Ya jerk.

Well, I can pretty much say that the March release date is now true.

Haze has been pushed back from January and the Jan 15th date has been removed from the Official Playstation site along with the large advertisement on the page.

The delays really wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for the fact that we haven't heard anything regarding HAZE since TGS07. It's like Ubi pushed it off the face of the Earth or something.

And at what point do you ever think that these PS3 dedicated servers will become "non-profitable".

I mean...I don't REALLY see that happening in the near or even far off future with anything the PS3 has running so I don't see how any of his or your comments are actually warranted.

I mean, yeah, I know that you must just shiver in ecstasy thinking of the PS3 failing and closing down all of its operations but man I just HAVE to let you know that it just i...

Hackers had recently figured out how to access the GPU completely. However, as of the 2.10 firmware update news has sprung out that the exploit of the GPU has been locked up once again.

Either way, this would be hilarious if it turns out to be true.

PS3 -does- support Bitstream.

It's in the freakin' audio/video setup options. As for the story title? No, the PS3 is not the -best- Blu-Ray player out there, but it IS the most functional BR player at the pricepoint.

I am saddened that Silent Hill V did not make that list.

It never makes a "most anticipated" list EVER but people still run out and buy any sequel in droves when it hits the shelves. A game that never gets any hype that continues to do so well....

Darn you mainstream media!
