Bioshock? That's the winner of best new franchise? I had assumed that the catagory winner should have won based on the fact that it was....a franchise. Bioshock is a one hit game...no sequels...and System Shock was hardly a game to grant it the status of "franchise" considering Bioshock isn't considered a part of the same franchise within its own company.
I'm pretty sure that either Uncharted or Mass Effect deserve that title better.
Pfft....
I would surely hope that they are NOT taking a Holiday Break all the way up until 2008. I got Christmas....that was it! *grumbles grumbles*
Maybe they can work on something productive like....say...getting that Haze demo certified or oh...I dont know...the EFFIN HOME BETA prepped and ready.
or wait! Perhaps....the DMC4 demo! that would tide me over or something. Either way...Jan 3rd had better be a damn good of a new year update.
Man, I don't know what Tycho's problem is with the UT3 mod support. Last time I checked the PC mod tools were updated (there was a downloadable update on fileplanet a week ago and one of the terms within the data said "fixes toolset to create PS3 compatible mods" or something to that effect) and I think the first user created mod was already released on to the net for download
Second: A USB memory drive is fully compatible with the PS3 and the PS3 mods can be saved up...
It was comment #1! That was the fastest action taken by the Microsoft Defense Force EVER.
Yeah, thats right. The MDF machine is in full force on the DMC4 scene. Can't stand that both versions are identical so they all rush in , bash the PS3, then act as if everyone else is crazy and/or stupid.
And they say we Sony fans are pathetic.....
On Gametrailers the video has been "analyzed" and it turns out that she is in fact wearing undies. If you pause the video around the 1:12 mark (which is the moment where she leans back all slow-mo like while that blade cuts right over the top of her jubblies) you will see that she is in fact wearing a black thong like pair of panties.
The flap on the front of her outfit raises and you can see that the black covering is actually really thin and apart of her costume so ...
That HAS to be Yamato. It's the same odachi design that Vergil used so I'm going to go ahead and assume that Nero is connected to Vergil in some what.
Maybe the directors were right....Vergil isn't present in person, but perhaps Nero is like a successor or something.
I had always wondered why people were streaming Xvid and DivX files anyways.
The PS3 is divX/Xvid certified so you don't HAVE to stream from your PC. You can just upload the files to your HDD and it will play them. The Xbox 360, however, is not certified so it needs to stream them.
No streaming necessary on the PS3
Thats right. The 360 does have that little keyboard thingy that snaps under the controller. No mouse support, but hey....i'm sure those devs could work something out.
Didn't MGS publish the original Ninja Gaiden on the Xbox and Ninja Gaiden Black on the 360??
I don't remember and I'm too lazy to go look it up, but I remember people saying the same type of stuff about NG and that it would NEVER EVER EVER come to the Sony console but lo and behold Sigma came and blew that notion out of the water.
Technically, another development team within Bioware could purchase the rights to distribute Mass Effect to another console just as th...
If you look WAAYYY back in the very earliest stages of the development of Bioshock there was a PS3 version already being worked on. However, Microsoft and their huge bags of money (I'm not trying to sound vindictive this really did happen) paid 2kGames to stop development on the PS3 version so they could keep it as a PC/360 exclusive at the time of distribution in 2007.
NOW! Whether or not the PS3 version has resumed development is another question, but the fact of the matter i...
PS3 games are region free last time I checked. Thats why people can download games from the PSN or import BR copies of games and have no problems.
Anyways, The 360 visualization is ridiculous and I don't see why you would even compare the two. The PS3 just shows a very VERY high detailed render of the Planet Earth while music plays in the background. Your rant was incoherent and your complaints pretty much had nothing to do with the topic on hand. Aside from your "360 one ...
Well, considering that the PS3 can happily support USB Keyboard/Mouse I wouldn't understand why any type of "drastic change" would need to be made to the control scheme or anything such as that.
But if your wondering if Consoles have a place in the MMO market? Why of course they do. Final Fantasy XI and PSO were great examples of good MMO's who were present on consoles. So, it CAN be done and it can be done well.
However, if you were to bring a MMO acro...
Criterion said that the crashes wont yield the same results. Apparently they will vary from crash to crash by way of the physics coding they put in.
At least...thats what Criterion said. As for more/less debris for each version? I don't know. The PS3 is the lead platform for the game so they may go nuts with the PS3 or they may not and the 360 may have more....dunno.
Let me run down a list of answers for your sordid attempt at a response.
1) I wont choose another name. In fact, the name "Ashta" is an old name from the Khorda Avesta which is an old text from the Persian era. Back when the Zoroastrians were strong in that region and the name refers to a character who was known as "The Adversary of Vishtaspa". Old name, and I like the ring to it. So, if you have issues with names then I suggest you find a better hobby or so...
Well, Uncharted has truly raised the bar in terms of graphical detail in the "tomb raiding" catagory but I don't see anything bad with those screens.
If anything they are way too small to really nitpick about things like polycount and HDR. Not to mention these are the first promotional screens released for the new TR game so I'm going to go ahead and assume that the build we are looking at is an indevelopment shot and not the finished polished version (duuuur)
How about you elaborate on your constant hatred for the PS3, XGamer? Could you possibly have a single viable reason as to why you must troll around on the internet and sprew vitriolic fanboy vomit all over the webpage?
Allow me to formulate a guess as to why you feel it is absolutely necessary to be so scorned towards Sony supporters. Just guessing here but I'm going to assume that either you were a Dreamcast adopter or a first generation Xbox adopter and you didn't like being ...
Technically....wouldn't the winners be determined by how much money they make? I mean, we all know that the Wii and DS practically print money but if you had to pit the two next-gen consoles against each other wouldn't it be the one that starts turning a profit first?
Heck, even Halo 3 (with its mind-blowing sales) didn't pull MGS out of the red and due to all of the massive advertising campaigns they have pushed forward they have once again fallen further back in to debt.
@The Round Peg: And you know why Sony wouldn't make a game like that? Because they aren't ignorant tools who want to infuriate an entire region back in to quarrels again.
The fact that you would even suggest such a game makes me question your credibility....even more so than I already had.
You Can't Kill The Playstation
The Playstation Will Live On
Saturn Tried To Kill The Playstation
But They Failed, As They Were Smite To The Ground
Nintendo 64 Tried To Kill The Playstation
But They Failed, As They Were Stricken Down To The Ground
Dreamcast Tried To Kill The Playstation Ha,hahahahaha
They Failed, As They Were Thrown To The Ground
Gamecube Tried To Destroy The Playstation, But The Playstatio...
But....how?
Sure, you could call it "Bioshock 2" but it would have to be a completely different game. The two endings in Bioshock pretty much left NO opening either way for a sequel....at least not for the main character, Atlas, or Andrew Ryan.
I had assumed that when a company was making a franchise that they were going to continue the actual story or character line. Things like Ratchet and Clank, Gears of War, Uncharted, Mass Effect
