I've been wondering why people have been screaming that UMD is a forced and failed format. I mean...the cartridges that the DS uses are only useful it but is that still a failed format of media?
I was thinking about this yesterday and I'm pretty sure that the UMD was pretty much the only choice they could have had since they wanted to be able to still use disc media but in a smaller more portable fashion. Sure, the movies portion of the UMD sales didn't fair so well, but even now...

I'm going to go ahead and say that its bogus. Considering that Rein has constantly said that the 360 version is "up in the air" right now due to Microsoft not letting them have an open user enviroment with Mods I would say that either Epic released it without mod support or the paper is lying.
I remember back in 99 when DVD players were close to or over $1000. At the time the cheapest DVD player you could buy I think was the PS2 if my memory serves me right.
What I'm not understanding is that Molyneux DOES have a choice. He could always make a game for the PS3 which comes standard with a HDD and in terms of expenses the whole "its too costly to develop for" argument was washed away when Sony dropped all the prices on their dev kits and have been distributing programming tool kits like crazy lately.
Especially ever since Insomniac has been helping other developers with their own engines and junk.

I would just like to point out that Joystiq made a small error or rather an omission in that description.
If a person has a PS3 and a PSP both they can just download the games from the PS3 store (since there is a PSP games tab now) and just copy the game file on to the PSP via usb cable.
Although a direct link to the PSP store via my actual PSP is a welcome change.

Eh, that role was kind of unnerving but for some reason I just really liked the movie. It was an unexpected delight considering I went in to the movie thinking it would be the worst pile of crap ever, but instead came out loving it.

Patapon was probably some of the best fun I've had with a PSP game in a long long time.

I was more unnerved by the drop from 200k DMC4 units sold to 30k units sold in a single week.
I think the Japanese gaming market is pretty much unpredictable at this point. I mean....Disgaea 3 debuted at a not-so-astounding 30 units its first week. Thats a NIPPON ICHI game which should have practically made it worshipped.
At the rate that it was selling I forsee better numbers and the NA and EU markets since Disgaea has a huge following in the west now.
