Speaking of which. I dug up some footage of the Japanese VA for the original. Very gruff sounding.

Personally I prefer the Japanese in some ways as I could never unhear Bender in Marcus's voice once someone pointed out they had the same voice actor.
Finally great to hear something resembling the kinds of gains we'd see in a real-world scenario.
TBF BC is one of those things that I don't miss if I don't have it, but it's always welcome when it's included.
I guess Xbox fans in Japan are a bit like the hardcore Yakuza fans in the West: Campaigning for games that are niche in their country, against all odds.
Was that all it really was? It somehow felt more epic and fully featured than the playtime would suggest. Maybe it was the way the pacing was handled?
I personally loved MCC for all the single-player stuff so hearing this news is nice. For whatever reason online competitive multiplayer never caught on with me (for any game in any genre) but Halo commands my interest with single-player online.
"Is Japan kind of like Germany and Australia then in their content approval process?".
Whereas I can't speak for the specifics of the approval process the broad answer is "yes".
It's not uncommon to see PC games, for example, being mostly region-free with the specific exceptions of Japan and Germany, likely because they have similarly demanding certification processes.
But that's not to say the certification p...
The other potential alternative is if the upcoming PC version somehow clearing certification where the console version failed. But I'm not sure how many people Japanese people would play this on PC.
Agreed. Not entirely sure what you mean, but agreed.
It's a completely different kind of game TBH. A slower-paced stealth-focused game where the focus is on the ingenuity in how you use your gadgets, the environment, weapons and so on all in concert to help you achieve a mission goal.
*sigh* More claims based on draw calls and nothing but. Hard to get excited about this without having an idea of what it will mean for actual games.
There's this weird habit for publishers to over recommend on CPUs I've been noticing. When are you honestly going to need the advantages of an i7 over an i5 in an actual gaming scenario? It almost never happens as far as I know.
Consider also that from the point of a musically minded person the new version would involve re-doing (i.e. remaking) all the songs as was the case with FFX HD. So he was likely talking about a remaster, albeit one with redone music.
Erm? Why is this even a story outside of the sensationalisation? The only story here is this: The only official modding tool from the developer is this Snapmap. \story
Okay... so what modding tools did the old Doom's have and how does this compare? And on a related point how sophisticated is this SnapMap?
The article (and most of the sites reporting this) haven't reported this so the only story here could be taken as a positive just as well: Doom will...
Note to Japanese publishers: Don't smash together random English words because you think it sounds cool.
I geniunely didn't know KI was packing ports of the original games on it. That's awesome.
Except TW3 is really well optimised?
People focus too much on high-end optimisation that they don't notice how good the game runs/looks on low. It's surprisingly scalable.
If it is what I think it is you aren't experiencing stutter, rather the drop off on the horse movement animation (and the placement of the camera that obscures the horse's movement) creates the impression of a sharp/sudden change that's stutter-like.
To be sure, look at a moving element in the distance rather than the horse and observe if the movement is fluid or not.
Sounds like some really nice improvements based on what I've heard players saying. I've not started the game yet, but with updates like this I'm happy to hold off until later.
Although that may be true you have to keep in mind that the original figure was inflated as it included the development of both the Saturn and Dreamcast versions of both Shenmue I and II. Essentially 4 games worth of content. As well as publishing/marketing costs (which Sony is covering this time).
I still have my doubts about the size of the game but we know it will be around the size of Dobuita at least (IRRC) and if they keep funding going post-KS they could eventually hit...
"Ore no Imouto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake Ga Nai"??
TBH I only saw the anime and felt the last half was a mess owing to the fact that it was trying to cover mutliple plot routes without thinking about how to reconcile them into one cohesive story. At the time I didn't know it was based on a game, but the plot structure sort of gave it away.
Funny how Stein's Gate can manage multiple routes so well (even if it does rush a bit) where Oregaimo fall...
