The biggest issue with ACTA is its lack of transparancy. No one knows exactly what it entails. Unfortunately, because we are unable to self regulate, folks in power are going to step in and do it for us. Its a cycle that has held true throughout history.
I'll take a piece out of your blog as an example. You compare IP sharing to property sharing, saying that there are no laws against it. That is true, but remember that in IP infringement the content is NOT your pro...
That's assuming the 360 is selling at MSRP. It is often sold far below MSRP, something that was extremely uncommon for consoles prior to this generation. During the last quarter, 250 GB 360 bundles could be had for $199.
It doesn't really matter though. MS has done a great job of marketing the 360, and a good enough job of supporting it to satisfy most of its fans.
I like my 360, and really enjoyed the beginning with games like Lost Odyssey. ...
Such a ridiculous post. People are sheep because they want to replay their favorite games in HD?
ICO/SOTC in Stereoscopic 3D was amazing. The best use of 3d in ANY game released IMO. Also, don't forget that many gamers are new to this generation, and this gives them a chance to experience these classics that otherwise can be difficult to obtain.
Your whole rant on consumerism and SOPA has nothing to do with this. Get off your horse.
Nothing. But since it was American policy that took down Megaupload Anon is targeting popular American network services, such as XBL, Youtube, Facebook, Twitter, PSN, etc. It sounds like they want to attempt to irritate the American public (as well as American companies like Microsoft and Google) in hopes that the response will be pressure on the Govt to restore Megaupload.
Most likely all it will accomplish is to piss most of us off at Anonymous. Just like the PSN Hack. ...
$9.99 USD on Feburary 14th. Didn't play the mod, but I'll be picking this up.
I love steam, but I don't buy all of my PC games through it. Steam certainly isn't a failure, but to say that Steam game sales compete with Console game sales would be fooling yourself.
And really, Steam is branching itself into physical media as well. Skyrim is an example of this.
Hmm, might have to try that with a Navigation controller. It would be pretty good, as you get analog, extra D-pad buttons, X and O, and the triggers.
Don't know if it pairs with a PC though. Have to check it out.
I know plenty about SOPA. It sucks, but idiots like Anon lead to legislation like this. Wait until they come up with anti-hacking legislation that will make SOPA look tame in comparison.
I generally agree. I'm not completely thrilled with the what I saw in the initial trailer, but I'm willing to wait until we have more information before condemning it.
I will say that the title "Revengence" is terrible. Sounds like some B-List action movie starring Jean-Claude Van Damme. Just "Metal Gear Rising" would have been sufficient IMO.
From the reviews, I'd say Type-0 probably would have taken that award had it been released worldwide. Hopefully an enhanced version makes its way to the Vita across the pond.
I doubt it. Too much time has been spent on it to scrap it and transition to a new platform. It will be a transition title, similar to FFXII (which was also in development for a long time).
The biggest issue with Versus is that it was announced too early. They didn't start focusing on it until after FFXIII was finished.
Nobody's saying that. However, there will always be some percentage of defective hardware on launch. We are talking about a fraction of a percentage here, not 50%.
I'm not sure that a few users with defective hardware on launch is "newsworthy".
MS hasn't stopped fighting piracy. They don't support SOPA because it could negatively affect Bing and open them up to lawsuits.
Microsoft is fully behind Protect IP, which isn't all that different from SOPA.
Sorry Alpha, but I can't agree. Zombies are well defined. A "dead" creature that is reanimated by some means with no intelligence outside of visceral instinct. The reanimation may be chemical, spiritual, etc, but the end result is the same.
No one claims that the necromorphs in Dead Space are "zombies", but they would be under your definition. Similarly, I haven't seen anyone claim that the Flood in Halo are zombies either. The reason why they ...
Um, because its Metal Gear, and Metal Gear is centered around stealth? Why wouldn't we expect Raiden to be stealthy? He was the main protagonist in MGS2, where the objective was stealth. Its also fair to point out that Ninja's are traditionally stealth assassins.
I have no problem with Rising being Hack n' Slash, but comletely eliminating stealth is a bad idea IMO. You can have both, no need to turn the game in to "Ninja Raiden".
Its...
Sorry, but this isn't the "zombie" genre. We know next to nothing about what those things are, but we know that they aren't zombies.
We know that they are aggressive, but we don't know if they are mindless. I'm willing to bet they act more as a hive mind. Zombies have no intelligence. They see, and they kill. These things might kill with a purpose.
But whatever. Call it zombies if you want. Say its overdone...then tell me what...
@Persistantthug
The point is that Linux was a little used feature that represented a threat to the security of the console. In hindsight I'm sure Sony wishes they hadn't included the feature to begin with. However pointing to this as some kind of starting point to the loss of critical features is overreacting.
@gamingdroid
We're just going to have to agree to disagree. Online play is a core part of the experience when you purchase a game that in...
That is a poor analogy. Sony isn't in the business of removing features at a Whim. OtherOS support was removed because it represented a clear danger.
Note that Sony did not forcibly remove OtherOS. It was removed by voluntarily updating firmware. Anyone who wanted to keep legacy support for OtherOS was free to do so, and many have.
This is such a ridiculous rant that fanboys like yourself are using to justify your bashing. When it was clear that Linux...
Wrong. OtherOS wasn't included in the PS3 Slim, but support wasn't removed from Fat PS3s until after Geohot circumvented the hypervisor through linux.
OtherOS wasn't "removed" from the Slim, because it never had it. Consumers were heard loud and clear, and they said that they didn't care about linux support.
I'm not sure that Amazon's 1st edition bundle comes with those extras. It just comes with the case, little deviants, and a 4GB card.
Amazon has a 3G launch day bundle (Feb 22)that comes with the data, 8GB memory card, and PSN download. It doesn't come with the case and Little deviants, but I can live without those. I cancelled my 1st edition bundle and preordered that.
Gotta wait an extra week, but I have such a backlog of games its no big deal...
