Tales of Graces F and Xenoblade are very good as well. Hope Namco brings over Xillia. Wish they would bring the PS3 version of Vesperia with the extra content too.

White Knight Chronicles isn't as bad the critics thought either IMO.

Edit: Don't know where I've been, but just saw that Xillia was announced for the west on Friday. Sweet!

You do realize that we have already seen what Cloud would look like in the PS3 tech demo, right?

You mean the PS button? It turns off after a period of time, atleast mine does.

The 7000 series was a major architectural overhaul. They went from a VLIW architecture to SIMD. I doubt they will drastically deviate from it. I'm sure there will be some tweaks and improvements though, similar to what NVidia did from Fermi to Kepler.

Really since the SNES days Square has been at the forefront of console graphics. All FF releases since VI have had impressive graphics for their time.

Probably, but I'll just stop buying games day 1. Prices usually drop quickly after a month. If they are this high the price will almost certainly drop immediately, because people arent going to pay that much for a game.

If he doesn't like touch games then he picked the wrong platform to develop for.

The fact is this guy failed hard, Microsoft kicked him to the curb, and now he is spewing nonsense in an effort to get in the news. Apparently its worked, but I can tell you I damn sure wont be buying any of his games for my iPad.

They do, but DirectX is just an API. OpenGL 4.1 has feature parity with it. Its up to the hardware manufacturers to create drivers to bridge the hardware features to the APIs.

Sony will likely use their own in house version of OpenGL just as they did with the PS3. They'll work with AMD (or whomeover is designing the GPU) to implement the required features to support any extensions they add to it.

I think its safer to assume that most versions of Windows out there have OEM (non-transferrable) licenses. I doubt many people looking at a budget gaming build would have already dropped $200-$300 for the retail version of Win7 Full.

I think when doing these articles it should include at a mimimum the OEM version Windows 7 Home Premium, which runs for around $99. It wouldn't be tranferrable to future builds, but budget gamers probably wont upgrade until MS rolls out ...

Hah, Apple might. Everything they sell has a huge markup, unlike the PS3 which was sold more than $200 below cost at $599.

What I will say is that never again will a platform holder release a console that costs over $800 to manufacture. I think we have seen the end of cutting edge tech in consoles.

The A9 has a linpack score of around 85MFlops for a dual core at 1.2Ghz. So a 16 Core would be around 680MFlops.

The A15 is expected to be somewhere in the neighborhood of a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 (Krait). The Dual-core Krait MDP at 1.5GHz has a Linpack score of 218 MFlops, putting a 16 core at 1.7GFlops.

For Comparison, the Cell averages a linpack score at around 100 GFlops with all 8 SPEs enabled. The rumored A8-3850 in the PS4 has a linpack score of arou...

16 core processor? I'm calling BS on that. Too big and hot for a console, unless its 16 arm cores. 8 cores with SMT is possible, but still probably too big and hot to put in a limited space.

I can see the HD 7000 GPU, but any moron could guess that considering MS is likely to stick with AMD for graphics.

I liked the game, but the ending was bullcrap. Doubt we're gonna get any free DLC to fix it either. FFXIII recieved a lot of hate, but atleast it had a proper ending.

I suppose on the bright side there could be several endings to build from if they decide to take the paradox endings further. Whatever they do, they need to expand the crystarium. My characters are maxed out with several hundred thousand CP to spare.

True, but async crossfire should put performance above that.

These specs are likely based on early dev units. The purpose of these units is to allow developers to get a jump on programming for the architecture. Hopefully the final specs will be based on Trinity or Kaveri APUs, with a custom Southern Islands GPU in the same thermal envelope as the 7670.

I think from a GPU perspective it will be more capable. However its certianly possible that the CPU will be toned down to lower costs, and as the article says that would affect physics and AI.

In the end I think the Wii U will satisfy the core Nintendo audience, but like the Wii it will probably be left behind by 3rd party developers. It should be on par with the PS3/360, but it doesn't sound like its going to approach the Orbis/Durango.

Yep, the countdown is on to a cease and desist letter from Nintendo.

I'd peg the over/under at 48 hours.

Seriously? I bought this bundle, and I knew exactly what it meant the moment I saw the sticker.

It seems to me that the "brainless lemming" would better describe someone that thinks you can activate wireless service without actually purchasing a plan. I've dealt with multiple wireless phone carriers, many offering bonuses upon activation, and never did I think I could activate it without actually buying service.

The 2GB memory isn't an issue, its the 256-bit bus. And its only an issue for one game, Crysis...which was a poorly optimized memory bandwidth hog.

It appears NV did their homework and concluded that it wasn't worth the cost to implement a 384-bit memory bus in most situations. The GTX 680 outperforms the competition in almost every other game.

That said, there are rumors circling that AMD is working on a driver that will increase performance by as ...

iPad owners don't throw down $600+ on those tablets for gaming. They aren't going to buy AAA games in large volume. Its just not the right demographic.

Also, iOS apps are limited to 2GB in size. Now that's plenty big enough for most mobile games, but I would expect AAA franchises like GOW to take full advantage of the 4GB allowed by Vita memory cards.

Cool, need to take a look at this the next time I'm in DC.

Oh, and suck on that Roger Ebert.
