... well, if you're a bad driver, it might get important. ;)
I didn't buy my WiiU solely for multiplats, true. Main reason stays their 1st party awesomeness of course.
But nevertheless I would love to get some more good and unique 3rd party games on it. (like Zombie U)
Moreover, there are some very well made ports on the wiiu like need for speed or deus ex, that actually enhance the experience via game pad, comfort or gameplay wise.
Problem with ports on the WiiU is, that they are either badly made, or the...
Sure, some will get it on another platform. Some will not buy it at all, like me. (That is, because I never really was into racing games ... I just would've supported their effort to make an unexpected game for the WiiU.)
And some will wait for the WiiU-version.
But the WiiU overall sales number will be definitly lower. They might get some of the lost sales back on other platforms, but it propably will be turned into a: "You cannot be successful as a third p...
Will you really?
By the time it gets out, you can purchase it on Steam for 10 bucks. The WiiU version will cost you 5x the money.
Imo they killed all the sales and the hype for the WiiU-version with that supid move and their cheeky comments (If you want to play a sim on WiiU you will buy it anyway ... else go play Mario Kart, you ... etc.)
Imo this could've been really a special success on the WiiU with all the hype going on in the Nintendo-commun...
I strongly doubt that. Strong competition from Forza, Driveclub and The Crew.
Will sell best on PC to sim enthusiasts imo.
That's why their decision makes even less sense. They have strong competition on X1 and PS4.
But a WiiU version would fill a gap.
Not sure if the X1 is more popular amongst gamers ... but that's another topic.
A lot of wiiu-owners supported and even kickstarted the game, because SMS was stepping forward and making the bold move to develop a racing sim with the wiiu in mind. It's absolutely not my genre, but I would've bought the game just to show support for their efforts.
Now I am not buying it at all out of principle. It's just a bad move. And now they also show some bad manner...
Exactly. And it's not hard, since alot of great projects on different platforms are craving for my money. :)
It's more the usual "sorry, but we allready have your money" type shit.
Seriously: I guess, since the WiiU version is still on the way, basically they are fullfilling their promise and the bakers will get their copy when it's done.
The whole affair is just like an unfair kick in the nuts - not a deadly one though.
Same here ... very dissapointed.
Could buy it on PC instead, but wont support this kind of bullshit out of principle. Huge backlog and many more great games on the horizont - so not a tragedy.
What millzy102 said.
I intended to buy the WiiU version of Project cars, although I've got a gaming PC. They lost a customer. It's the same story for me with watchdogs. I was looking forward to both games and I am quiet disappointed. It's not about waiting few more month ... it's about the broken promises. Rayman, watchdogs, project cars ...
Just tell us from beginning, that the WiiU version will release late due to work capacity or whatever. ...
Citing the article: "The example used in the blue print is Wordament and shows how at the end of each round, players are ranked. The system then outputs a list of optimized results which includes best words, best of the hour, best of the day and best of the week."
Wordament. Okey.
I reiterate what I allready said: cloud computing will not have a major imapact on how we play games and how we experience games for some years to come.
I...
Even if we assume there is something to it, that really enhances the gaming experience ...
1) It's a mere promise on the future.
2) Should it be a big step forward (for gaming), everyone will follow soon after. Which means: if you get the "power of the cloud" for xbox, it will work for every other platform soon after.
I really appreciate their effort for new ways of using cloud computing, but I despise their constant PR and marketing bul...
Microsofts PR-Department cuts a fart ...
Gamer lights a matchstick and ...
BOOM! Experience the magical Power of the cloud.
... couldn't resist. ;)
One of the few games I couldn't resist to buy at fullprice. And I do not regret a single Cent.
It's a great oldschool-like experience - tactical combat, lots of story driven quests, lots of well written dialouge (to read), no handholding (e.g. no exclamation marks over the questgivers etc.). I love it!
It mimics a colourful, versatile and exciting fantasyworld; it's not heavyly dark, gritty and depressive as a lot of games tend to be these days.
Big recomm...
Masterpiece.
I think they picked ten concerns, that they can easily change ... and put them on top.
Top concern I read on forums are ...
(1) Does EA and Visceral rip me off?
(... the whole this should be a DLC thing)
(2) Do I get an unfinished and in parts broken game at launch, like BF4 was?
(... wouldn't be EAs first launch desaster ... SimCity, anyone?)
Strong opinion for somebody who played only an hour ...
Depends on the game.
@kneon
If they all stick with PC architecture, they have to differentiate themself much more imo. There is no need to for branded PCs. Could go all pure software then and release their now exclusive games for a wider audience.
That's what I appreciate Nintendo for; they implemented a new controller-scheme for fresh ways to play games (Wii and WiiU). Btw I appreciate the idea of kinect etc. as well, although they made it available for PC.
