Goty will not happen imo. But those guys should get a marketing award. Incredible piece of work in this regard. (No sarcasm here btw.)
Lol - funny dude; most propably fell into his own brainwashmachine in spin cycle once ... or twice.
Twinfinite hates clicks and your headline proves it ...
It works fine as a squadwork/teamwork game, if Voip, commander position and assets/tools are propably used. I have loads of fun with it ...
I give you that the mechanics are not the best, but it's getting better and better.
Also classic mode added; best thing about the patch imo.
I recommend to give it another shot, if you allready posses the game and haven't played for a while.
Let's "Settle it in Smash!" *lol*
Will try that next time I've got a dispute with my wife ...
Played Halo 1+2 a lot in the good old days on my Xbox ... till I flogged it for weed (*laughs*)
Would love to grab that collection, since I never played the other iterations. Looks awesome!
Can I convince myself to buy a console solely for this? ... It's actually tempting somehow. And I am not a big fan of the XBoxOne.
Hype is not a problem; feels great ...
Games not living up to the hype can be a problem.
Aggressive marketing overstating and distorting what's actually in the package is a definite problem.
The average consumer is unfortunately suggestible and oblivious.
Btw I have no specific titles in mind here ...
Edit: Alien: Colonial Marines maybe a good example for deceptive marketing, though.
Corrected: You shouldn't trust any SINGLE review.
I read some reviews, watch videos, play a demo ... take my time and make up my mind. Pretty much common sense.
Games don't run away and hide ... so no need to grab everthing day 1.
Marketing.
Poorly written, imo.
You confuse taste with quality.
If you like or dislike cucumber is a matter of taste.
If a cucumber is fresh or squashy/sccarred is a matter of quality.
You can't argue about taste, but you can argue about quality.
Very inconsistent review.
Agree. Online requirements are mostly about datamining and authentification of purchases. It has no (direct) value to the customer.
Imo online requirement is only acceptable for online games - naturally - or the online parts of a game. (Multiplayer shootouts and such.)
It's a bad trend, but hard to cicumvent as a gamer.
@jollygoodchap8
Can't see a lot of hate going on in this thread, neither. Just differing opinions, as usual.
Enjoy the game, if you like it and stop reading opinionpieces, if you can't stand them.
Btw: Can't see no hate in the article.
"Though Destiny by itself has considerable flaws, still it isn't a bad game, and that's enough for most gamers."
Unfortunately. Publishers won't reach for higher quality, if not-bad is good-enough ... good enough to make a margin in this case.
I am not sure, if these publishers do themselfs a favour with that kind of overhyping marketing. You may leave - due to high exspectations - more people dissapointed than truly satisfied.
It's just a matter of perspective. Would destiny be a indie-title that just arrived on the consoles without being on anyones radar, ppl would praise it as a unpolished gem with great future exspectations.
But with all that marketing upfront: dozens of awards, 500 Million budget,...
As far as I know:
The 500 Million are a budget for 10 years, 4 games and a yearly big expansion. On top it's for everything marketing related. Planned economy at its finest with a strict contract.
(There are interesting details, like a 25 Million Bonus for Bungie, if the game gets a 90+ on gamerankings.)
It's a lot of money on the line and they will push for success in every way. That's not a bad thing per se, but a lot of pressure. And you can'...
Late.
Interactive map of chicago is nice ... but to be honest, the gamepad would have so much potential to enhance this game, if put to good use. I hope they have built in more features.
Offscreenplay should be standard on the WiiU anyway.
If an interactive map is all ... I'll pass.
Good Job, Nintendo.
