What?
Why?
... oh, well, you got me reading it.
I find them bland and meaningless - in games like BF4 even annoying. Stop cluttering my screen, dice! (shakes fist in anger)
Opinions. ;)
@LamerTamer
I know where you are comming from ...
That's why I buy most of my games at GOG, since they come DMR free and are not bound to my account.
Their business model is just proofing, that you can have digital only AND own the stuff you buy. If enough people would support this business model and cut back on e.g. their steam purchases ... my guess: other companies would follow.
Nintendo is btw going for a account based system next as f...
I agree. And it's not only PCs ... I mean look at the mobile market. Nobody complains about his smartphone or tablet being "digital only". It's allready happening.
My gripe with Microsoft, when they announced X1 wasn't that it could be digital only, but that it was supposed to be "allways online" which is a huge difference.
Dude. Calm down.
What I said is based on my own experience with Mantle and research I did, when I tried to improve my fps in BF4. If you check out the benchmarks of Mantle across a wide variety of hardware, you will see that it had only good impact on low to midrange multicore cpus, when they were bottlenecking the performance for stronger GPUs. Yes there are gains (but also losses) in other environments, but they are really not that big.
Concerning Fable Legends: it ...
As we can see again: DX12 will help when the CPU is the bottleneck - aka in very stressfull conditions (espescially for a 4790K they used). Then the higher rate of drawcalls will make the GPU work at full potential. If you have a weak GPU from the start - it will do null. NULL!
Basically: low to medium range CPUs will benefit most, if they are combined with a stong graficscard. If you have a very weak graficscard or a top notch processor, that isn't stressed by the applic...
Indeed. The last thing we need is a PS4/X1 clone.
1) We build Multiplayershooters with shitty singleplayer campaigns
2) Our stats show nobody plays the singleplayer in those games
-----
1) We build shooters without ingame voip (BF3)
2) Our stats show that nobody uses ingame voip, but thirdparty programs instead - conclusion it's a feature nobody wants
Corporate logics.
You read the article? ... that's not how it's supposed to work. /s
Hmm ... I count 895 hrs of BF4 myself. Those numbers are not untypical, if you play regularly with friends or in a clan online. MMORPGs, online shooters, simulationtype games, and so on ... all consume a lot of time, if you really get into them. I am still learning, finding new ways to play, new modes etc.
It's not even that much. I know ppl with 3000+ hrs in BF2142. They basically had put 400 days of full-time work into that game - just consider what you could have learn...
Isn't it more hypocritical to find something disgusting (your words), but still support them with your money?
You could buy it used, if you have to.
... and sorry I know you're comment wasn't to me but those hypocritical internet folks annoy the crap out of me :P
Make a X86 machine, powerfull enough to run some VR.
Make a smooth OS with free online.
Make all your controlls backwarts compatible.
Integrate an emulator for classic games.
Find a good price point.
Be awesome and allow people to install SteamOS (and maybe even Win10) as alternative bootsystems.
As a PC gamer the WiiU is still the best addition for me. I actually play almost as much on my WiiU as on my PC right now - mainly couch coop (platformers, some mario kart, some brawl).
WiiU is relaxing, lighthearted fun.
On another note: I still don't see the exclusive must-haves on PS4 and X1, that would justify a purchase for me. Bloodborne and the Master Chief Collection got me tempted. That's about it.
I think it's mainly the different architecture, that makes it economically unreasonable to port for WiiU and not (so much) the power gap. The result is the same of course.
"But it's also a celebration of Nintendo's much-maligned console, the Wii U, and its unloved second screen."
It's not news, but an opinion piece. And I disagree btw.
The second screen is great - just underused.
Everyone talking about how PC got consolized.
In my book it's the other way round: consoles get closer to PC (gaming) this gerneration. A good thing imo.
I could see them releasing it 2016, if it's a diffrent concept. So they would support 3DS, WiiU and the NX parallel. Really depends on what it turns out to be. If it's a classical home console I agree on 2017.
Question: What does the headline mean?
Specific: what does the notion "... harm the consumer from playing games ..." mean?
I am not native english ... thx.
Totally agree ... after being initially excited for their general attitude and towards the WiiU, they lost my purchase long time a ago. Also on PC btw.
Why do so many people want another multiplat-machine? Wouldn't it be more exciting to have something fresh?
