The impact of DMR on sales will be minor. There were studies allready about online piracy and digital sales in the music industry. In conclusion: piracy doesn't affect digital music sales, maybe even helpfull for marketing.

From a business standpoint: you just have to calculate piracy in....

Valve didn't want to get into the console market, but wants to make PC gaming more appealing to the typical console gamer. And to be honest, I think Microfsoft will jump onto this train as well (or get back to it ... whatever). Imo the next Xbox they will release, will basically be a PC with standardized specs and Win10 on it.

Well I just bought and installed Heroes of Might & Magic 7 on Uplay. First thing I read in the news section is, that they will release 2 additional campaigns with a lot of content for free (The lost tales of Axeoth) to celebrate 20th anniversary of the franchise. Just to share a positive experience with them as a publisher.

Rayman Legends on WiiU plays also great btw. And Rainbow Six just has the wrong name, but is actually one of the more innovative shooters that release...

I could imagine that the handheld works as a controller for the NX, but could also be used for other systems, which would be awesome, if it's a great piece of hardware. Espescially if they integrate a touchscreen again, since then developers could use the functions more reliable in multiplat-projects. But all rumour and speculation of course ...

Had basically the same impression. Especially the mission design is boring. Also the city has great atmosphere on the "surface", but felt - after a while - to me more like decor and not so much alive as I would have wished. I remembered Deus Ex or the Splinter Cell games, that play similar imo and are for solo players definitly more fun and varied.

But it is a solid ARPG like you said. And I will jump in again on open beta to test the multiplayer. Could be hell of a...

Oh the humanity. First some of them copied books, then music and now also videogames. I heard some people also steal in stores ... and don't pay taxes as they should or do illicit work.

It's simple: if someone creates a good product for a reasonable price he will earn his money. There are allways scumbags, who will diminish the return, but that should be calculated in.

Btw: I'll buy your game, Jonathan, as soon as it gets cheaper.

I hope VR succeeds on all platforms ...
but to be honest, I doubt, that it will take off as people believe. Devs have no experience yet on how to build a good VR-Game, the publishers are not willing to shelf out money big time until larger install base and not every consumer will be happy with the experience (nausea, weight, cables, inputdevices etc.).
There's just a lot of stuff that is not predictable. The high price point doesn't make it easier to sell.

That's a misconception about PC gaming, that it is tremendously expensive I mean.
I spend around 300-400 bucks all three years to upgrade. That makes 600-800 bucks in one console cycle. That's what the average console gamer would spend on hardware and onlineservices as well. Software is cheaper and stays fully backwards compatible ... plus I can use my machine for work. Other than exclusives and convenience I really see no advantage in console gaming. Even price doesn't co...

Something like two times will suffice, if you buy everything new.

i3 will do the trick, 4gb ram and a "stronger" graphicscard like a 280x or gtx960.
... for medium details in FullHD and constant 45+ FPS.

At the time of writing there are playing 107.000 ppl playing Battlefront and 106.000 ppl playing BF4. So it's on the level of a 2 year old game. Not that impressive ... but I agree, also not quite dead yet.

I am not pirating (since the release of Castle Wolvenstein and such, which were censored in germany at that time).
But 25 years of experience with PC gaming tells me, that in 95% of cases DRM is a fucking pain in the ass. I try to stay away from it were ever I can and buy as many games on GOG as possible.

(Specific problems with DRM measures, where mentioned in this thread allready multiple times.)

Yep. I hope for the mobile NX as well to be usable as a controller for the companion console.

And since the rumour came up it would work in some way with PCs and other consoles as well, it really could be a handheld, that might be usable as a controller on different devices. Which would be awesome in my opinion. This way developers could implement features into their games specific for that controller (like a map on the second screen) regardless of the system you are playing ...
