I don't know what you guys have ...
I owned the WiiU from the beginning and had tremendous fun on it - it is especially great for couch coop.
As a secondary system (still) highly recommendable, if you like the library of exclusives of course.
1) Multiplayer (More FPS and higher Resolution for Neo-Players will unbalance games.)
2) Identity crises (What is now X1 vs. PS4 graphic comparison bullshit articles, may get a new spin: Neo vs. Legacy)
3) Exclusives? The rumour goes they rule it out, but I guess that there will be exclusives for PSVR later on, since Legacy PS4 will just not cut it for AAA titles. (Marketing spin: "When we promised parity on games, we didn't mean PSVR. We considered PSVR allways a s...
Good read actually and an appeal to enjoy innovation and diversity in the gaming industry - be it an upgraded PS4 or X1, the new Medium VR or another take on consoles from Nintendo. And NOT to take out those pitchforks prematurely ...
As far as the rumours goes, NX will be x86 based. In this case they will get the exact same multiplats as all other platforms, since they will basically all run by default. No need for complicated "porting" anymore. In addition to their exclusives, that would make a good lineup and a good console. Question is, if people will buy into it additionaly to their PS4 or X1 or PC.
(Btw, that's why I don't get those people screaming for a "traditional" N...
After the BF4 launch issues I am very hesitant with "day one" ...
But they will provide a Demo ("Beta-Test") for sure. I'll decide after playing a couple of hours.
What about playing classic or hardcore mode?
No health regen, no vehicle regen, friendly fire on (not so much spamming of explosives and shells) ...
BF4 is the best entry in the franchise since BF2142 imo. At least teamplay wise ...
Your negativity concerning Nintendo (and possible innovations) is really annoying.
Maybe give them the benefit of the doubt for a change?
... at least until we get some solid informations.
Btw: it's not necessary to repeat your negative opinions several times a thread and multiple times a week. It doesn't add anything worthwhile to the discussion. Live up to your nickname ...
If the rumours are true and it's x86 based technology, there propably won't be backwards compatibility.
And concerning the second screen (which I personally liked btw): they could make the handheld compatible with the homeconsole and use it as a "screen controller".
I don't think many people have a problem with what you describe.
There are other legit concerns that are much more problematic, though:
1) It could unbalance multiplayer. Playing a shooter at 60fps vs. 30fps for example gives you an huge advantage.
2) Future (AAA) PSVR games will only run on the Neo.
3) Shorter console cycles means, that for "hardcore" console gamers their hobby just got more expensive. Which was also a traditional a...
Steam Machines are a special take (open source OS) on Living room PCs. And although SteamOS may not get off the ground, the latter are far from dead. I exspect Microsoft to move heavily into that direction - providing an Xbox-like experience for all Win10 PCs. Maybe dual boot into Gaming/Livingroom UI as alternative to standard Win10. (... similar to SteamOS)
I agree. My guess is, it will start, when full fletched VR experiences arrive.
Marketing will tell us that PSVR is a seperate platform. All "normal" console games will still be released for the standard PS4 of course.
If it's a comparison between X1 and PS4 >>> Graphics matter for sure ...
If it's a comparison between PC and PS4 >>> It's all about gameplay ...
One could call that a form of opportunistic optimism. Being allways on the winning side I mean ...
Just a personal observation of course - I might have gotten a wrong impression.
... and fun
It's only a minority of gamers, that is vocal at all. Most frequent forums and news sites only to read, if at all. So whatever you hear on forums is just not representative at all. Comming to the conclusion that lots of people commenting are lying about their intentions is a bit premature imo.
They just are not representative of the mayority - which buys DLCs, microtransactions and the games others are bitching about ...
There are 3 legit concerns imo:
1) Console gamers need to be ready to spend more money on hardware. (If they wanna have the latest iteration of a console.)
2) Multiplayer could get unbalanced. (More and more stable FPS in shooters make a huge difference for example.)
3) There is the possibility of exclusive games for the more potent hardware - I especially think, that this might be the case for future AAA VR experiences. (As far as the rumors go, Sony adresses that ...
It boggles my mind how anyone can disagree with such an inherently true statement.
Just a quick note: there are many things in life - besides food - that are not luxury.
We do not live in desperate times, where everything is about survival.
Take a car, Tv or mobile phone: they are items considered as living STANDARD in the western world. Luxury is a mobile phone with diamonds on it (diamonds add nothing to it's functionality), a hometheater for 30.000$ (instead of a TV) or a Lamorgini (instead of a normal family car). Another example: having ...
Imo it's just bad time and resource management.
Example: Movie industry. How often do you get a delay or even mutliple delays? It might happen, but rarely.
Gaming studios (or publishers) just shouldn't announce release dates until they are sure they can meet them. Some kind of time buffer would also reduce the need for "crunch times" a bit.
On another topic: My guess is, that e.g. Microsoft will release it's Xbox UI for all Win10 PCs sometimes along the way (in a way like SteamOS), basically giving all PCs access to the easy plug and play "experience" and instead of releasing another console, they will release a Microsoft branded PC, which allows to also run every app and software available to Win10. Basically you can boot that Box then into Win10 mode or Xbox mode.
Maybe Sony will follow that a...
Well, I'll keep mine, since the WiiU (and its games) could get a real rarity in a few years ...
Also some games I haven't played yet. Looking at you Wonderfull 101, Xenoblade and Bayonetta 2 ...
