Well if Tidux is also to be believed then Detroit Become Human is going to blow peoples minds. Another PS4 Masterpiece? https://twitter.com/Tidux/s...
Edit: I accept that he doesn't name the game he has just played. But, given than review copies of Detroit are in the wild, it&...
Well Sony have said we'll be getting a deep dive into Death Stranding, and I'm sure (hoping at least) that it will include actual gameplay, and not just talks about the studio history or the vodoo that the Decima engine can do etc etc.
I know right! I'm intrigued to know what is actually going on in the game, it just seems to be completely bats4it crazy.. TBH I just hope it's not as convoluted as the plot of MGS4, and that it doesn't have 30min long cutscenes.
Dude you left us hanging with that last sentence :)
I'm looking forward to this game precisely because of the themes covers, adn the choices it forces the player to make. IMHO games ARE, and MUST BE allowed to tackle mature real life themes, and game creators should never be castigated for doing so in a game. If books and movies can do it without a second thought, why not games? I'm just going to leave this here for the SJW's - https://www.y...
Yup, I played the demo... then played it again... and then played it again and again for the different outcomes. As soon as I was done MY review was complete and I pre-ordered the game. :)
But that is my point. For all the criticism, Far Cry 5 sold huge numbers, so does Call of Duty every year.
However the author starts his article by saying "Actually, to be precise and only a bit mean, it's the quintessential 2015 video game..." He conceeds that he is being "a bit mean." That is an admission of bias, you are no longer being objective but want the reader to allow you a free pass to insert a personal and negative opinion. An then he di...
I remember playing this game at EGX and really loving it, unfortunately I never got a chance to complete the game. But if I may say so, I wonder if Quantum Break would have done better on the Playstation, as I think Playstation gamers are more attuned to these sort of games; they've been raised on a more... balanced gaming diet than just shooters and racers. It might not have though, and might have been panned even harder by the critics. Shame really as it's the type of metric that MS...
But everyone knows that apples are better than oranges right? Riiight?
:)
To be honest with you, I would take new story DLC ahead of NG+ as I'm sure we won't see a GOW sequel until the PS5 launches since it take 4-5 years to make these games.
On NG+ you wouldn't have them to start with. But when you get to that point in the story when you have to retrieve them - what you would actually retrieve would be your fully upgraded version from you first playthrough.
If I'm reading you correctly, I think there is a way they could implement some of the items. Spolier alert follows.
****SPOILERS***SPOILERS****
For example, the blades. The devs could make it that on NG+ you don't start with the blades - as normal; but when you get to that point in the story and retrieve the blades, what you actually retrieve are your fully upgraded blades from your first playthough.
I still have to take down the Valkyrie in Nifleheim, but by the time I get to her, my health is just not enough to even consider starting the fight :(
Hold up a second. You agree that there are other open world games and other zombie games coming out this year, but can you appreciate that the criticisms being levelled at Days Gone are not being levelled at those other games that are also in development?
I have mention elsewhere the success of games like Far Cry 5, (which broke sales records), but what did that game really do to "distinguish itself?" Not much at all. As another example, in the lead up to State o...
Definitely. Especially for Warhawk, and MAG (criminally underrated and ahead of it's time).
You're right, user engagement is a good metric to assess the longevity and sustainability of a platform. The challenge Sony has is how to begin propositioning their services (Playstation Now, Playstation Vue, Playstation Music etc) without losing focus on the games, but I think they got the messaging the right way round - games first, services second. You obviously need to sell more consoles to get more people to spend time logged into your network.
That's a fair comment, but 3 brand new IP's is nothing to scoff at, and is very commendable. It mean that Sony are committed to fully supporting their IP portfolio, which is a good thing, and that we can expect the quality to be high, as they won't pressure their first party devs to just rush the IP out the door.
Naughty Dog, Guerilla Games, Sony Santa Monica, Japan Studio etc have all released high quality IP's that have sold consoles. All Sony first part...
"...which include additional content for games..."
I hope this means we get God of War story DLC :))
If the three year plan is mid-term, I'm guessing PS5 will not launch within that time frame? PS5 launch holiday 2021 confirmed?
I think Sony positioned the pre-E3 Days Gone media campaign very well. I'm sure they are aware that at E3 it would likely get overshadowed by the deep dives on TLOU2, Ghost of Tsushima, etc etc; so it makes sense to give Days Gone it's own space ahead of E3 - especially as the inevitable comparisons will be levelled against it.
The game already has it's own identity, but journalist just want to focus on the mechanics that exist in other games, (and which will exist in many many more games to come) - but because Days Gone does crafting, it is trying to be TLOU; or because it is open World with objectives - it is trying to be Far Cry; or because it has zombies it is trying to be Dying Light. Whatever man.
We heard the same thing with God of War, that it's trying to be TLOU, and it's tryi...
