I think Detroit Become Human will sell well, based on previous Quantic Dream game sales they have always sold in excess of 3 million copies. Also Until Dawn sold very well for a "interactive movie", so much so that there is a possible sequel int he works. We are also in the season of Westworld, and that is getting alot of hype, and it is intevitable that comparisons will be drawn between Detroit and Westworld.
Not so much David Cage games though.
David Cage PlayStation games have always averaged out at about 7.5 on metacritic.
Dont get me wrong, I loved the demo, I've got this game on pre-order and will enjoy every moment regardless of the review scores.
I'm just aware that the game and Quantic Dream has been the focus of some media backlash lately.
I'm hoping the game score highly and is a critical Sucess.
Given that its a Sony Exclusive, and the fact it's made by David Cage, and the fact that it'll be labelled an "interactive movie" and the fact that games journalism has become a platform for SJW's to sound off...
I don't reckon it'll get more that a 7.9
Reading in between the lines
(1) they haven't got any dev kits or specs for a possible PS5
(2) Red Dead 2 will release on PC
(3) there will be another traditional console generation

I'm beginning to realise that the more I hear about this game the less I want to know. I feel like I know enough now to trust Bend Studio to deliver on this one. I think the uncertainty about the game has lead to the deep dive with Game Informer, but I don't want them to spoil too much of the game.
That was inevitable. God of War is a masterpiece.
The deep dives on TLOU2, Spiderman, Ghost of Tsushima and Death Stranding, plus the inevitable surprise announcements will already make Sony's E3 conference one of the best ever imo.

You really just gave yourself away there. There's no way you could have played previous God of War games, and then play the new one, and say "the combat actually feels like a devolved version of the previous GoW games."
Also when you talk about "agency over the story", it proves you haven't played the game because nearly all the side quest are exactly that,

That assumption is just false. This is just a classic example of the gaming media running the hype gauntlet for clicks. Just because Sony are doing something different this E3 doesn't necessarily mean they are preparing for a PS5 reveal. Now don't get me wrong, we all know a PS5 will eventually happen (probably in 2020), but just because Sony wants to deep dive on the games its been showing off for the last 2 years, might just be that and nothing more.

No one is realistically expecting the PS5 within the next two years. Sony hasn't given any indications either, It's primarily just the media hype echo chamber that keeps regurgitating the same circular argument.
