To be honest with you I don't know what all the fuss is about. So what there's a female Scott with a prosthetic arm, and a Soldier with a Katana strapped to his back. If the game is fun, with great a great and involving story as well as engaging mutiplayer modes and addictive gameplay loops and mechanics, so what, isn't that what we pay money for, to have a fun and engrossing experience? I don't think I've ever seen an ultra-realism historically accurate WWII game that set...
Don't forget the line where they said you can purchase "premium currency." I'm sure the cost of items and boosters, and the grind need to acquire them will make up for the "no loot boxes"
Does it really matter much if it renders at 4K but is full of game breaking bugs? Hopefully the will patch the game to get it up to release standard.
I had no idea that Sony had a marketing deal with Rockstar for Red Dead 2! If Sony manage to get Red Dead 2 on stage for their conference, even if its just a new trailer, it's going to be a major coup.
Sony will probably want to put distance between TLOU2 and Days Gone, so I reckon it'll be third of fourth quarter 2019; but that also depends on the other titles releasing like Ghost of Tsushima etc.
I think the fact that David Cage brought in Adam Williams as lead writer, and others for Detroit speaks volumes. It shows at least that he's learned from his past mistakes, and hopefully the story and scripting will reflect this. Well we'll see what the reviewers think tomorrow.
Holiday 2021 is my guess for a PS5 release date.
Awesome. I can't wait to see more this game. I think Sony have all the hype this year going into E3.
It's already confirmed for Spring 2019 release date. So I reckon it'll be February/March 2019.
I'd like to ask the devs a whole bunch of question
- Can the players narrative choices affect the ending of the game?
- Will Days Gone will have Story DLC after launch?
- WIll there be NG+ once the game is completed?
- Why did they decide to call the primary enemies 'freakers' instead of... anything else?
- Are there more enemy types that have not been shown yet?
- etc etc
Like I said, I've got...
I might have to check these out when they do come out... hopefully it doesn't coincide with Read Dead 2, or Spiderman.. or Dreams.
Its a shame that there's a culture of crunch in gaming. Surely there's a way to tackle this, people ned ot have awork/life balance for optimal productivity. I know every country is different, but surely there are laws about the amount of overtime a person is allowed to do a week, I mean don't developers have unions?
Or else what happens?
Wowzers! That's some impressive feat.
That was surprisingly really interesting,I think my hype meter just peaked.
Is it Friday yet?
The problem that most of the journalist are not appreciating is that they only had 20 minutes each to play.
20 minutes is not enough time to even get warmed up, and they must have rushed everything. Plus it was the same footage that they have all seen from the Gameinformer coverage, so they already knew what to do and what to expect. But you are right that since it was the Alpha build that they played, we can expect that in the next year Sony Bend will really polish it, as they will...
I really don't get the "it has to find it's own identity" thing. To me this is a contrived statement that journalist are deciding to run with, while being unfairly disingenuous and cynical.
The things that already set the game apart for me, or at least why I'm interested :-
-The zombie horde (yes they are zombies) can we have 1000 'freaker' horde?
-Dynamic enemy encounters and interactions between each other
Sure, probably we'll get a release date trailer at E3. My guess is February/March 2019.
Well it just so happens to be Ryan McCaffrey who previews the playstation exclusive game. You know, Ryan Mcaffrey, who's the xbox champion at IGN. Ryan McCaffrey who tweeted Sphil Spencer asking why xbox diesn;t have exclusives like Playstation.
But I guess you'd want to believe that he wouldn't be biased?
Edit: TO be fair to Ryan, his preview is well written and balanced. But they still had to use the clickbait title.
I absolutely love this game. Controls are a bit heavy, but overall it's an amazing story.
