I hope they can get out more story content for GOW before this gen is out. I know it'll take another 4-5 years for the sequel to come out, so the earliest we can expect it is 2022, (at least they have the engine up and running so that will save some time).
Congrats to Platinum Games, although I still haven't played this game. When I watch gameplay streams it just doesn't seem engaging to me, what am I missing? I actually went to buy it a while ago when I had a bit of a game drought, but it was sold out everywhere. I don't know, is it worth jumping in now?
It makes me wonder what could have come of ScaleBound if Microsoft had given them more time, anyway no point crying over spilled milk.
I'm actually quite divided on this one.
On the one hand, as the game devs and content creators, they have the right to sell whatever content they want at whatever price they want. It's the beauty - or should I say ugly truth of the capitalist market.
On the other hand it is a blatant and underhanded move to further parcel out on-disc game content and sell it piece-meal, at the expense of the average gamer. No longer can the gamer simply purchase ...
Okay, so firstly, really cool imagining of how to cosplay the colossi (colossuses?), and how do they stick the fluffy bits to their "fluffy bits???"
But does anyone else find it really contradictory that Kotaku - SJW Kotaku - posts this "cosplay" artcle?
For all their SJW/Gamergate nonsense, they post NSFW images of half naked women for clicks?
I guess deep down boys will be boys - even at Kotaku.
I agree with you. While photo mode is a bonus, I don't think it is an essential. I'd rather they spent the time and resources making new story content.
To be fair to Microsoft, they can't really be held to account if a developer is not on schedule and have to delay a game. This is no bad thing, as hopefully the game is only going to get better. Better delaying a game than releasing a broken buggy mess.
But give credit where credit is due, Microsoft kept most of their E3 2017 promise, they ones that were up to them anyway. I wonder what they'll be promising this year though?
You earn enough money to buy a few hundred PS4's so what the problem here?
So what? Good single player games like God of War still have a huge market - without the DLC, microtransaction, season pass.
It's MS that lies to you and wants you to believe that they should be investing in single player games, but in Gaas, just so that they can sell you an unfinished game in bits and pieces, so you can keep throwing money at them.
But you don't worry yourself with that, just continue to let MS nickle and dime you into a Gaas futur...
It's a great game, but dude, seriously spoilers not cool - use ***Spoilers*** warning. Many people may not have had that scene, and you may have just ruined the discovery for them. You need to put a spoiler warning in comments like that, it's common etiquette and is simply polite.
Anyway ***Spoiler Warning***

There's a bias against David Cage. There are very few reviews that don't mention him or say something negative or disparaging about him - even in the generally positive reviews. It's great that Detroit has done well, if not we would not have heard the end of it.
Well that's going to be a good problem for Sony's first and second party studios. They've been slowly upping their game, adn after God of War the bar has been set really high. All eyes now will turn to the new batch of games - Ghost of Tsushima, Days Gone, Dreams, Spiderman, Death Stranding etc.
Those game have a high standard of quality to reach, and that is a very good thing.
I absolutely loved Detroid Become Human, and am on my second play through. I was actually on my second play through (as well as watching KindaFunnyGames review the game) that I realised just how different the experiences people have with this game will be, and why some people will have very different views on the characters and story of the game.
For example in my first play though Connor and Kara never even met. However in my second play through, I had one of the best exp...
Got burnt out on Call of Duty after Black ops, burnt out on Assassins Creed after Brotherhood, got burnt out on Far Cry after Far Cry 3. Got burnt out on Destiny and The Division, also got burn out on Watchdogs after the first game as well.
The games that I am still playing though - Dark Souls III, God of War - on my second play through; same as Detroit Become Human (second play through as well). I'm still playing Battlefield 1 (what can I say I just love Operations)
Games as a Service, i.e. your online only multiplayer games that offer you paid content updates over a period of time. Microsoft want to be the Netflix of gaming, but I'm not convinced that the way gamers consume games is the same way as people consume movies.
The problem I have is that I really don't think GAAS is consumer friendly in the long run. I could be wrong, but already the lack of AAA exclusives and the lack of single player games generally, seem to be the fruit of GAAs. That will only get worse whereby the only type of games that really work for GAAS are multiplayer, microtransaction and DLC heavy games. That's why MS are pushing this fake narrative that downplays singleplayer games - even though Sony and Nintendo are demonstrati...
Check this out, someone's already thought of that.
Ark Survival Evolved - https://store.steampowered....
Thanks for those links man, I had no idea just how deep that rabbit hole went. It seems that Microsoft's Gaming Division is just a puppet dancing to the tune of the grand puppet masters at Redmond. I guess it should have been obvious all along.
I just lost the last shred of hope that anything Microsoft says during E3 will be legit.
Well that's great for you, enjoy your games. I have no issues if you think you're getting value for money. The issue here is if Ms can "steal the show at E3". I'm curious to know if you think then they can, and especially if you think GAAS will win them E3 - even if they throw in single player games into the mix
Even if. Even if Ms somehow work a miracle and win E3, they've still lost this gen. They need to start building 1st party studios, like - yesterday. Even if they announce new 1st party studios, the games won't be ready until next gen. But here's the thing, MS are going full blown GAAS. That's what you'll see at E3, and it won't win them anything.
The difference here is that we know that Rockstar have such a high quality when it come to their open world games, that it's guaranteed that Red Dead 2 will be a smash hit. But that's what makes it even more gutting that Take Two are exploiting that fact.
EA and Activision don't make high quality games of the same calibre of Rockstar. Not even close. But yeah, even still I agree that Take Two shouldn't get a free pas for price gouging.
