That made me sit up and take notice as well. I think it's fair to say that MS strategy this gen has not been as successful as they had hoped. I don't know what they need to do to turn it around this gen. Unfortunately for them they still don't have the studios to take them into next gen. If they rely primarily on third party going into next gen, I fear they will make the same mistake again. Compare that with Sony who are already getting their first party studios primed, so they ca...
Microsoft only need to prove that they can survive E3, and they will. And the fanboys will give them a free ass...
oops, sorry, I meant to say "free pass".
I just can't wait for the next announcement. I'm sure Sony will say something about GOW at E3 in recognistion of it's success, (I'm hoping that it'll be more story DLC, as it might be too soon to annouce a sequel)
I found the same, but worse with BF4, I can't get back into BF4 as much as I try. I was very late to the game with BF1, so I'm still enjoying it, I guess it helps that I can play with a buddy, and together we canjust about hold our own.
Hey if you ever have a change of mind you can always give me a shout, we're always looking for good squad mates ;)
Ok, so I love the fact that they are tailoring the gameplay to emphasise squad play, this has been the missing ingredient in Battlefield games since I can remember.
Could this be an MMO a la Elder Scrolls online? Or something more like Fallout Shelter, but fully fleshed out and realised.
@DerekTweed
"Sorry for nit-picking, but Call of Duty is Modern Warfare"
No offence taken, they've all just blurred into on for me. :D
Microsoft just cant catch a break. I'm sure we'll still see something crackdown related at E3 though. Its' about time we really saw what the cloud can do.
For someone new to the Battlefield franchise, I'm not sure Battlefield 1 would be the best place to start. I think Battlefield 4 would probably be better. Don't get me wrong, I love Battlefield 1, but the moment to moment gunplay is just not as... engaging as Battelfield 4 imo.
I'm willing to bet that Call of Duty 4 will still sell well above Battlefield V though... unfortunately.
Unfortunately true. But the silver lining is that at least for all the controversy Battlefield V wont have Premium Pass.
Thank God for that at least.
Definitely agree. After BFBC2 and later BF3 it was hard for me to go back to Call of Duty. Infact, I haven't bought a Call of Duty game since Black Ops1.
Apples and Oranges.
But obviously Apples are better than Oranges.
Everyone knows that.
Right?
From a gameplay perspective Connor's "detective CSI mode" helped enormously to add interesting gameplay. I know that Markus was able to "pre-construct" paths to solve traversal puzzles, but it was woefully under used.
Where each characters ends up in the story depends very much on the choices you make, in my first playthrough, Conner went deviant and betrayed Amanda as soon as he could, he sided with Markus, and the whole thing lead to a veryy intere...
I did think that the specs were posted a bit early, they've still got some time to polish the graphics and improve the specs.
The hype is strong with TLOU2, I just hope the game can live up to it, and that it doesn't suffer from 'second-album-syndrome. 9; In many ways, the game has to be to TLOU, what Uncharted 2 was to Uncharted - which is a really tall order. Many people thought that TLOU stood alone as a masterpiece, and didn't really need a sequel. So expectations are going to be sky high.
In any case I can't wait for E3.
Yeah Sony aren;t going to invest that kind of time or money. Sony haven't allowwd us to change our PSN name yet. That means that they don't think it's worth spending the money and the resources require to amend the data on their servers. How much less inclined do you think they'll be to allow their user base to access MS network and sign in to that content instead of PSN.
FYI Sony have more cross platform games than MS. That would be PSN-PC cross platform.
...
I would love a sequel, but with just Connor, he had by far the best gameplay.
I robot comes to mind as a possible type of storyline, with a 'deviant' android trying to evade capture and being framed etc etc. But yeah there's lots of potential for the story to be developed further.
Only thing is, Quantic Dream don't do sequels.
O come on! Please tell me no one is still buying this bullcrap. What he's saying is that MS are hedging all their bets on GAAS. That might be what they want to do, and the direction they want to go in, and that's fine. It really is. But don't start with the Bullcrap that your audience don't want single player games. Heck Ryan McCaffrey said it best https://twitter.com/dmc_rya... a...
