Naa, there are already enough multiplayer zombie survival games out or coming out soon. You can play State of Decay, and a host of others if you want that kind of experience. Days Gone is free to be it's own thing, moreover it's much better to have a focused narrative than a diluted experience so you can shoehorn multiplayer into it.
I'm also quite happy that we don't know much of the story, too many spoilers these days. Although I'm pretty sure that come PSX we'll get to hear more about the story and what's really motivating Deacon.
Last I checked, Crackdown was only scheduled for a February window, which means there is still alot of scope for the date to be changed. I imagine they would also want to avoid releasing at the same time as Anthem. So my money is on a slight delay.
I hope Sony does move the release date. It'll give them more time to polish the game, as well as letting it it have its own space to breathe.
Talk about hyperbole."Sony is hindering the progression of the gaming industry" my a$$.
Why are you not satisfied playing across Switch-PC-Xbox?
If you want cross play that badly then go get one of the above systems.
End of.
That's actually quite awesome. She's a cheeky little minx isn't she? I wonder if how 'DIna' will compare.
I hope so much that the GaaS bubble bursts. It's just lazy publishers trying to milk gamers for half the service provision. The promise of "constant content updates" is hollow, as more times than not the content has been slow in coming and lack real substance. Moreover GaaS, seems to be skewed towards online multiplayer game, to the detriment of the support of all the other amazing gaming genres.
@Reapr
You're being presumptuous on two counts.
Firstly, UCForce does know what he's talking about, secondly, there is a strong relation between Gaas (i.e Games as a Service) and digital distribution - that should be obvious.
But let me explain just in case it still escapes you.
Gaas rely on a steady stream of content updates - those updates primarily (in fact at this point they only) come in the form of digit...
@BeardedDrachen
That's not going to happen. Most of the sites - especially the big named sites are full steam ahead in support of LGBTQ characters in games. The web sites that would "tear down" the game for "pushing and agenda" are no name sites, are not big enough to shift the needle.
Dude, go home you're drunk... or just really really triggered.
I guess Naughty Dog touched a nerve with you huh? It's not your fault, a lot of people get the jelly's when it comes to Naughty Dog and their magnum opus. They're just that good!
^^This.
Very well said.
Ok, so confession time. I've never played a Battle Royal game. There I said it.
But I'm happy to give this a try, especially as there won't be any loot boxes and such.
Good point. Bill was a great character, and was really well done. But the key thing is that it was Bill and his role in the narrative that was at the forefront of the experience and not his sexuality. His sexuality was almost incidental, but was tastefully done, and so had gravitas when you realised that his partner was dead. It wasn't a case of, "hi, I'm Bill and I'm a homosexual, what can I do for you today?"
Yeah there were definitely moments in the game when I was like - that's just too photorealistic, for example Luther's character model.
This is actually the real problem that I have with the kiss. Not that it is being progressive, or representative; but that it becomes titillating and appeals to male fantasies. How long until we get a full on lesbian sex scene in the name of "inclusion"? After all we've had hetero sex scenes, so let's do full on lesbian porn for representationzzz!!! /s
Men are attracted to women. Why is that weird now?
@captainrivaini
How exactly would you market a gay character? I mean, what would be the tagline for the game? What would be the box art? Or on the back of the box? "This game includes gays"?
I honestly think that would be the wrong way to go, i.e. using a characters' sexuality as a marketing tool. It would no longer be about the game or the story, it would become more a case of "Hey look at me I'm gay". Or, buy this game because I'm ...
From the article - "Naughty Dog has upped the game by including this lesbian kiss, but will others follow? I hope so, because it’s what LGBT gamers deserve."
Only as long as it doesn't become gratuitous.
Why The Last of Us is such a masterpiece is that the context of the world, the enemies, the characters, the infection etc makes sense and have a place. Even this kiss, has history and context with Ellie from TLOU and Left Behind. However, if...
To be honest, the first game was so good, that even if just the gameplay is improved (which it already is obviously) I'll be more than happy.
No doubt the engaging story will continue with emotional plot twists and untimely deaths; and we'll get to see the consequences of Joel's lie. But which ever way Naughty Dog decide to go with the story - it will be controversial among the fans, and there will be never-ending debate about which story was better TLOU or TLO...
PLAYSTATION!!!!
