From the article - "Executives brushed off concerns that its emphasis on bringing content to more devices would cannibalize console sales and hurt the company’s financial results. “That is not where you make money,” Spencer said of consoles. “The business inside of games is really selling games, and selling access to games and content in means like that is the fundamental business. So if you open it up, the more often people can play, the more they’re enjoying the art form. It increases ...
Fans already love them, that's why they won this console generation by a mile.
I literally only completed Red Dead 1 on PS3 a couple months ago. It took me what 8 years?
I can't tell you how many times that happens to me. I literally sit there for a good 10-15mins just wondering what I'm in the mood to play. I can't decide and so I just literally go and buy a new game...
Help me I have a problem.
*sigh
:)
When do I get to play this on the Switch?
I hear what you say about content cycles, end game, loot drops etc however by far teh biggest complaints that critics, reviewers gamers etc have levelled against Anthem is not the end game content or even the loot drops, it much more about the broken game design choices, some examples, constant loading times, poor AI, being left behind by team mates, forced teleporting to missions and missing dialogue, lack of customisation, the extremely steep grind for crafting content etc etc.

Dude, they would score a win if they even only remastered Killzone Mercenaries for PS4/next gen consoles. Heck they'd score an easy win if the remastered Killzone 1-3 and released it in a REdux bundle i.e. one continuous story.
Well to be fair they could do a spin-off for Faye. She's a goddess and 'giant' after all. Sort of a prequel to God of War ***spoilers*** before she died. She obviously went on a quest and left all those yellow hand markers for Kratos and Atreus to follow. Also it could connect the story to why Baldur came to Kratos in that first encounter expecting to see one of the giants. That might be a cool concept.
Buy yeah, Kratos is Kratos - alpha male, demi-god, unstoppa...
Well the preview event embargo lifts next Wednesday 6th March, so you'll have a hard time going dark. But yeah, I know what you mean. I'll be staying clear of reviews though, as they can really spoil the experience sometimes.
I think it will actually help games like Sekiro (due in March) and Days Gone (Due in April) get some more traction, as gamers will still be wanting something new to play; unless they dip into their backlog - everyone's got a backlog right? Or is it just me :))
P.O.D! FTW! I used to love that track back in the day. Anyhow I'm intertested in how this game does upon release. I missed out on Left 4 Dead when it first cames out and this looks like a good stand-in.
There are exactly zero gamers that want sub-par and unfinished games that ask gamers to pay perpetually for drip-fed content that should have been there on day one.
Including you. You don't want that either.
Pretending otherwise is simply ignorant and self centered.
I think it might already be too late. They would need some major overhaul which will take time, a couple of months at least. By that time ppl would have moved on. The peeps that are after a loot shooter will probably gravitate towatd The Division 2 - assuming that gets a good launch.
It's not impossible. With the basic advances in modern technology - especailly where everyone is claiming that cloud based gaming and streaming id the future - this should have been cracked after the second or third incident. They even addressed it in the article you simple rent more virtual servers for your launch window. Publishers don't want to fork out the extra investment, that's why.
I think the game will be a breath of fresh air tbh. It will come after some big high profile failures in February, and then a quiet lull in March (excited for Sekiro though), and then it has all April mostly to itself. RE2 reignited the zombie love (even though these are freakers!) and there is enough to differentiate Days Gone from anything that has recently been released to give it buy-in and traction. Unless there are some huge fundametal flaws in the game (which I seriously doubt) this ga...
Well that's awesome to hear, it mans at least the games media will have something new about the game to talk about. Don't get me wrong, I'm not one for spoliers but I's just really excited for this game. I can't remember the last time I played a AAA quality open world zombie game (freakers!?) with a great story; in fact - now that I think about it, I don't think I have.
Now this is a cause that I would get behind. FInally the gaming industry is waking up to the fact the GaaS model is fundamentsally set up to exploit gamers, by providing sub-par and unfinished games and asking gamers to pay perpetually for drip-fed contant that should have been there on day one.
You do realise that Angry Joe played and completed the game right? So your comment that "he has no criteria to work from" is demonstrably false. You really need to retract that statement. It makes you look like an a$$.
Yes, yes and yes again!
Yeah I'm hyped for Days Gone, good to hear that they spent the extra time polishing and adding content to the game. I wonder if they managed to pack in a dedicated horde mode - that would be cool. I know they have already confirmed that there will be post-game activities and content.
