I just hope to that the preview event is a new area/mission we haven't seen before. We've all seen the "take down the horde" gameplay footage a hundred time already, as well as the "get a part for your bike" footage. I hope we get to see new characters and more of the narrative choices, and maybe some new freaker and enemy types. But in anycase I've already got this game pre-ordered.
Days Gone already has so much more going for it than Crackdown 3 and games that you're subtly referencing (I'm assuming Anthem?). I'm willing to bet Days Gone will have a significantly higher metacritic score than both Crackdown 3 and Anthem (80-85?). Similarly there won't be a backlash against the game - simply because Sony hasn't hyped it up as the next Big innovation in gaming, or the next must have revolution in open word games.
^^Amen brother.
Yeah, that's all bullcrap. Very informative and technical - but still bullcrap.

^^^Well said!
When you make annual revenue of $5billion, with profits in excess of $300million and it's still not enough for you - then you know that you've gone over to the dark side of greed. I am glad that gamers are voting with their wallets, my only concern is that EA has a terrible way of putting spin on their poor performance, by blaming it on "competion from other players in the market" or their "marketing campaign" or their "release...
This is what you get when you do game design by spreadsheet and try to explot gamers by jumping on the loot/grind shooter bandwagon - even when it is cleverly campflaged behind fancy graphics and pretty explosions, gamers can still smell a rat.
Fool me once EA, shame on you; fool me again, and again, and again... well shame on me. And gamers have been fooled one too many times now by shallow games with shady monetisation tactics.
I don't understand, the games that she sighted (I know she was sighting them as exceptions) however they are great examples of good story telling in an open world game. Stories that have a deliberate arc and a definite beginning middle and end. Those are great examples that show that it can be done AND without being a GaaS, loot box, MTX game.
Somebody please answer what happens to the games we buy from streaming host when the service provider goes bust? Let me guess - we don't actually own those games, we just lease them yeah? Well in that case no thank you! Give me my disc based games that I can buy and own, and lend and trade etc.
What happens to your paid for streaming content when streaming companies go bust? Is a question that the industry as a whole is avoiding thinking about and addressing.
SSX was fantastic back in the day - when EA Sports BIG! was their slogan - https://www.youtube.com/wat...
EA have a way of just destroying great games.
smh
I'm on my third playthough of RE2 on Hardcore mode, and Mr X still terrifies me. I thought I was safe hiding quietly near the interrogation room, then suddenly - SMASH!!! Mr X literally breaks through the wall and grabs me. I screamed. I actually screamed.
Leon is currently hiding under the table in the Dark Room afraid to move.
From the article - "This would be done via services, utilizing Xbox Live and possibly a yet unknown service. This was practically another signal that Microsoft was looking at Gaas (Games as a Service) to not only host their published games onto other platforms but to connect all players. Microsoft gets to expand the Xbox brand, more games are played by other people and the company makes a boatload more money. As for hardware, let’s not forget that Microsoft is working on multiple next-ge...
I'd love for Cyberpunk to release this year, but I think it's just not going to happen :(
TLOU2, Death Stranding and Days Gone.
Too little, too late!?
'Need' is too strong a word imho.
Does this surprise anyone? Microsoft has an exclusive marketing deal with EA for Anthem. It's not in their best interest for the game to bomb - what with Crackdown 3 and now Anthem. It makes it look like Microsoft lately don't know how to invest in quality games.
As per usual it's not the publishers fault for demanding loot/grind-game-by-spreadsheet , or the devs fault for poor game design. Oh, no, it's obviously the "whining" gamers who are at fau...
Metal Gear Solid?... is that you?
Snake!? SNAAAKE? SNAAAAAAAKE?!?
Best quote from the article - "With EA having their own take on what gamers want going forward. I do wonder if what makes Bioware historically so good, is exactly what EA don’t want anymore... When Bioware hear EA walk around saying things like “gamers don’t like single-player, story-driven games anymore” and other such quotes (as the imperial march music plays in the background), they must be shuddering."
It's so true. Bioware and EA are just not good bedfell...
The game hasn't gone gold yet, so technically the game is still in development. So there's is still opportunity to tweak things here and there before it does.
