I noticed that. The more interesting thing about this is that you don't hear a peep from any of the gaming websites about it. When The Order 1886 had a review embargo the day before release the gamesites and fanboys went into meltdown and completely destroyed that game - even though compared to this it was a graphical masterpiece. Same thing happened when it was Bethesda with Dishonoured 2 and Prey - the gamesites all chimed and castigated Bethesda for what was deemed a shady practice. Bu...
haha... that made me LoL
If you ask me they should have bought Quantic Dream and SuperMassive Games.
My thoughts exactly. I'm glad the next console generation will still be more traditional - at least from Sony's side of the market. No talk of teh cloud or streaming across multiple mobile and tablet platforms here. Just good ol' fashioned console+couch+tv gaming experiences. :)
It's such a refreshingly different tone to Microsoft, who are all about jumping on the latest bandwagon. Sony are content and happy to say that's not their jam, they'll do their own thing. They're not jumping on the BR bandwagon, not jumping on the cloud and streaming bandwagon just yet, but are going to double down on brilliant exclusives - although I have to say I don't know how I feel about fewer games. The wait for TLOU2 and Death Stranding is excruciating.
Amen brother! It's good to also hear that streaming is not high on the Playstation agenda, so we can breath a sigh of relief that next gen won't be primarily cloud based.
Do you have anything at all to base that on beside your tummy rumbling? Or did you just pull that straight out of thin air?
Not really. I just hate two faced hypocrisy, and I can't help but call it out when I come across it.
p.s. How am I sure you're not the one stalking me?
Sony learned their lesson from last gen, when they thought they could ride the coat tails of the PS2's success. As they say, "you have to spend money to make money," in this regard Sony learned from Microsoft who had a huge advertising and marketing spend last gen, practically every multiplatform title last gen was advertised by MS. This is why competition is good.
I does help if you've actually played the game in question. And I think I can make a pretty good guess that you've never played Marvels Spiderman.

Quote from the article "A little over a week ago, I wrote that Crackdown 3’s multiplayer Wrecking Zone is “a shadow of its former self“. The cloud-powered destruction that lets you topple entire city blocks is in the game as teased, but it’s in a very limited manner. Now that Wrecking Zone is i...
So basically the article is saying that we should just give Microsoft a free pass. The author has the audacity to compare Marvels Spiderman and Crackdown 3. You have got to be kidding me! I have never really considered that articles may be written by Microsoft shills, but dear God someone will have to really convince me that this guys was not paid to write this article.

Sure. In 4K it would look like next-gen minecraft, at the very least it would look signifinantly much improved. Doesn't mean it's not still a last gen game though aye?!
The Arkham Series was pretty great, but if I was pressed against the wall to choose, I'd probably choose Spiderman.
Review embargo lifts tomorrow I think, we'll see if it's worth all the fuss.
@shloobmm3
I'm sorry, what is "light years ahead of anything on the market today". Surely you can't mean destruction in multiplayer games - becasue we can get a list for you from last gen that would disprove your comment.
The game does look good in 4K. It's true that these Single player screens look sharp and are much closer visually to the pre-alpha footage. But you are claiming that the game hasn't been downgraded - that is simply not true; and even the big media gamesites like IGN, Gamespot, Polygon, GameInformer etc have acknowledged the downgrade. So please, the sooner you come to terms with this, the sooner everyone can move on. To deny that Crackdown 3 is a shadow of it's initial reveal, is...
Here have been many, but I remember my first platinum trophy was Infamous. Finding all the blast shards to get that trophy kept me up for many nights.
Dude, seriously just stop drinking that cool-aid, it's bad for your brain. Games have been doing multiplayer destruction since last gen that looked and played much better than Crackdown 3 - without The Power of The Cloud!!!! The destruction was always the same for all players because it was server side - no AzureCloud needed. There is no destruction more complex here in Crackdown 3 than what you would see with Red Faction Guerrilla or Bad Company 2 on the 360.
