With the versatility of the Move, will we be inundated with accessories like the wii. Mind you the Sony gun accessory looks cool, hope they bring release it in black though.
Sony was forced to promote the sixaxis because they were in the middle of a lawsuit about their rumble tech. The moment they settled though, the Dualshock3 was released, and the 'sixaxis' put to bed. Sony made the most of it though!
Good article, but did anyone notice the weak 'Cons' mentioned. It is becoming more and more evident that the more people see of Move, the less they legitimately have to say against it (360 fanboys not withstanding). Microsoft may...

I signed up and got an email a few hours later. Hopefully it will draw me in, as at the moment I've got lots of questions. Such as how much is the monthly fee and can PS3 users pay via playstation cards etc
All 360 gamers say is "wait and see.. wait and see..."
well we have been waiting and all we are seeing is lag, a lack of compelling games, no support for the hardcore gamer, and a hefty price tag.
What exactly should we wait to see that the Move has not already demonstrated above and beyond what kinect can do?
I think everyone admits at this point that both Sony and Microsoft are going for the wii market.
However it becomes increasngly apparent that Sony's strategy is wiser and much better that Microsofts. Win the hardcore gamer and you capitalise on your install base with word of mouth, while at the same time using marketing to attract the new casual / wii crowd.
Microsoft on the other hand are not offering anything at all to the hardcore gamer. Nothing. T...
"The whole Minority Report hand waving gimmick is likely to get old very quickly and only seems convenient if you don't want to pick up a controller between games" - $150 seems a bit steep just for this convenience!
"despite the much higher tech behind Kinect the end result is still almost exactly the same as playing the Wii - in terms of the responsiveness of your actions and the nature of the games themselves." - So why not just get a Wii, its ...
Playstation Move caters to both my casual and hardcore gaming needs. Kinect doesn't.
The more I see of what PS Move can do, the more I'm convined Sony made the right choice. Regardless of your view of motion controlled gaming, there is no denying that the tech is impressive. Wii clone? - hmm I haven't seen the wii do half of what Sony are demonstrating with Move.
More and more Move vids are demonstrating the scope of the tech, and the exciting gameplay possibilities. With Kinect on the other hand seems to have confined itself to the limitations of ...
As I said in my post... "will the marketing be enough to turn the tide". It seems that all MS have at this point is clever marketing.
Not only have the use of buttons become intrinsic to gaming (i.e. the mapping of various simple and complex actions for the game character), but also just as importantly the force feedback recieved from the controller adds to the overall immersion of the game. Since Nintendo introduced this with the N64, every controller (apart for the sixaxis) has ultimately had rumble support (force feedback).
The very first ganme I played that completely blew me away with the implementat...
There are good reasons why the eyetoy failed, and whyn the PSeye does not have a massive install base. Sony have learned this lesson the hard way. Saying Kinect is a 3D camera is a moot point because the user interface is still the same as the eyetoy.
Why did eyetoy fail... lack of compelling games? lack of developer support? lack of (hardcore) gamer support? Whatever you might think, Kinect has not addressed these issues, and Microsoft seems to be making the same mistake S...
"Gone are the days of just standing there waving your arms about..."
LoL was that a deliberate digg at Kinect (Natal at the time), or just a simple reference to the Eye toy?
In any case I'm sure it's a no brainer for sony to develop a survival horror game that uses the Move as a Torch.
Siren Blood Curse anyone... although I found the games controls to be overly cumbersome, I can see the game controlling much better wi...
I confess I don't have a 360, but I would love to play Alan Wake.
It is the gamers who invest their time and money in their respective game consoles. If either of the consoles did not offer any games, but we're loaded with various multimedia capabilities, they would both flop so hard - why? Because between the PC and the various media service providers (Sky, Virgin, etc etc) there is no need for another set-top box. That is precisely why no multi-media set-top boxes have been really succesfull.
Consoles are trying to bridge that gap,...
@Poontangpie - it is exactly because Sony has spent soo much of their of the PS2 profits on the PS3 that they will support it for a longer time. Sony has already said that their competitors will release their next gen consoles before we see a PS4, Sony are probably already investing in PS$ R&D, but until the PS3 starts raking it in, there won't be a PS4. They are definately in it for the long haul, which frankly makes me happyt that I don't have to start think of a new gen station...
One way to devalue currency is for there to be too much in circulation.
Substitiue those 5 (or however many) Platinum trophies for Gold. Platinum should always be the pinnacle of the game, irrespective of how many diferent aspects that game has. It signifies total and absolute completion of the game.
What's the point of a platinum trophy if it no longer signifies the absolute completion of the game? Will Polyphony then offer another trophy (Diamond?) ...
It's good to see that EA are developing the back story. Consider My interest piqued!
Playstation 3 exclusives blow this guys flawed logic out of the water. He's arguing that good graphics, an extablished fan base and good marketing make a bad game?!
What a douche!
So no beta for non-PS Plus PS3 peeps?
I'm really interested in how 3D and Move support will affect the accuracy of Killzone 3 Multiplayer. I read somewhere that the added depth of field will give an advantage to those gamers playing in 3D, and coupled with the improved accuracy of Move, it seems that those without the 'elite' setup are going to get owned!
Here's hoping I get into the Killzone3 Beta!!!
@Chidori Soukou - Co-op is all but confirmed for KZ3, however given the tech...
