We all know Sony and Microsoft are in a cold war of sorts for the console gamer, and they are both in it for the cash, not as much for what they can offer the gamers. Don't get me wrong, the road to the console gamers wallet is paved with the apparent good intentions of these companies to 'offer services' which the other does not have. this has given rise to a culture of 'innovation', or what I like to call the monkey see monkey do mentality.
Innovation? Not so M...

"But although the studio pioneered multiplayer with Halo..."

Excuse me?!? Props to Bungie for the work they've done with Halo and how they have developed the franchise, but Bungie did not pioneer multiplayer. I was playing multiplayer PC games back in the mid 90's with Doom and Quake (ID Software), Team Fortress (Valve) etc etc. I was playing multiplayer PS1 games with Micro Maniacs (codeMasters) and more, PS2 console with Timesplitters (FreeRadical - God ...

I don't know really, I've seen a fair few 3D films an none of them have given me motion sickness. I understand that in games you're moving the perspective constantly (specifically FPS games) but I don't see how a person that does'nt get motion sickness normally from gaming, would suddenly start getting motion sickness frm 3D?! Unless they maybe also get motion sickness from watching 3D films. I don't know I think it's all hype tbh.

Dont' think I've ever had motion sickness off a game. My son can't play the PSP in a moving vehicle or else he is physically sick. My wife can't even turn her head in a moving vehicle without getting motion sickness. She always complains when watching me play FPS games that it gives her motion sickness.

I use Sky broadband which I get for free. Unfortunately where I live (the darkside of the moon), I can only receive a maximum speed of 5mb which suits me fine as most web apps and movies stream live (unless it's a HD stream in which case I have to wait a few secons, still no bigie). Downside is it's capped at a 2gb download per month. Now considering that an average episode of First Play weighs in at 1.5gb you can see I have to be careful what I download...

I'm still on teh fence about MAG. I was in teh Beta and actually really enjoyed the game. Maybe I should joint a clan to get the most out of it, but then again soo many shooters coming out, I'll prolly just stay on the fence for now.

Game might have reduced the price just to help pre-orders along. They do this with special edition games (such as for Uncharted 2). They reduce the pre-order price, but when the game ships, the price fo the pre-order goes bakc up and matches the standard retail price.

...and yes I have placed my pre-order for the Move and Subcontroller. I'm hoping to get a second move controller which inevitably will be bundled with a game (sports champions I'm looking at you)!

Ok Mods, please do not allow articles about religion on this site. The last I checked this was a gaming site where users come to find gaming news, and not a religions forum!

It is one thing to encourage and facilitate fanboy flame wars about the PS3, Wii or 360, it is quite another to allow and facilitate the same about ones personal beliefs. You only have to look around the world to see the extent people will go for their religious beliefs, because it means so much to them...

..and what about those who want to pursue an immoral lifestyle based on popular media and the 'status quo', without anyone to tell them otherwise... what would they be called?

Next year is looking to be another bumper year for shooters. My money so far is still on Killzone 3 > Cod:Black ops > Brink. Not interested in the others.

I already have the PSEye,a dn for the life of me I can't understand why Sony don't also bundle the Move AND Nav Controllers together?!?!?

Why can't companies understand that consumers are happiest when they have choice!!!!!

Yes I know kinect uses a 3D camera and has improved tech from the EyeToy... BUT, Sony always said they knew the limitations on camera based games and technology. I guess Microsoft are finding this out the Hard way. Sony are taking the best of both worlds in terms of 'innovating' on the Wii controller, and with camera based gameplay of the EyeToy. The games they showed like sorcery, SOCOM4 etc get both the casual and hardcore interested in using the Move. However, everything that Micro...

I'm looking forward to games like Sorcery, SOCOM4 and RUSE http://www.youtube.com/watc... games where Move enhanced the core gameplay.

I think the Move appeals to the core PS3 fanboys alot more than Kinect appeals to the core 360 fanboys. With this (and the price) I think Sony is better positioned for initial uptake. Microsoft have a bigger install base (just), and marketing might behind them, which Sony will try to counter with their deal with Coca-Cola. Overall, as well as just looking at the variety of games available to both the core and casual gamer, I think Sony have a lead at the moment.

It is funny how nobody is disputing the fact that Microsoft f*cked up at E3!?

You sound abit sore that M$ dropped the ball this E3, and the general consensus is that Kinect failed at E3. I would be interested in hearing your views about that, and see how you spin that price wise.

You have to admit that between the two motion controllers (Move vs Kinect) Move had the better showing for it's core demographic. I think it is safe to say that among it's core users, the Move will have a higher uptake from the Sony fanboys than Kinect will from the Mi...

I think Move will sell better that Kinect for this simple reason - Price.
I know M$ have not announced a price for Kinect yet, but the buzz is that it'll go for about 100 - 150bucks (it was very ominous that they did not announce price at E3, which is very telling). In any case the PSEye and Motion Controller come in at half that price.

This had always been the argument against Sony's pricing of the PS3, that it lost sales because it was the most expensive c...
