The most boring article i have ever read on N4G. Do articles not get moderated for these things? meh!

For one simple reason. Console gamers, and to a larger extent gaming in general, has become very Kinesthetic in nature (yeah... Kin-es-thetic look it up!) This is not only due to the presence of rumble feedback we get from the games we play, put the 'physical' contact we have with the game world through the use of a 'physical' object or as we like to call it - a controller.

It is this physical stimulus that conveys a real sense of interaction with the game w...

After playing Killzone3D and Motorstorm Apocalypse, I definately changed my mind about 3D games. It's awesome, and can be to standard gaming what HD is to SD tv's.

Where are all those haters who were moaning that we don't need bluray?

It was awesome being able to play Killzone 3D and motorstorm apocalypse(3D), for me those were the highlights of the show. GT 5 also plsyed in 3d, but the 3d effects were a lot more subtle the Motorstorm for example. I did not know what to think of the advent of 3d in mainsteam gaming, but once you experience Killzone 3D, motorstorm Apocalypse, you can't help but change you mind!

Also tried the PS Move with a number of games - Sports Champions table Tennis, Heavy Rain, ...

If you want Hard trophies, look at games like Demons Souls, God of War 3 on Titan Mode, Ninja Gaiden and other such games etc. But then you have trophies that are just downright unfair to some i.e. multiplayer trophies like for LBP - "'Look What I Made' - A Level published by you was played by 5 or more people"!

The problem with trophies like these is that even though I may publish a level (which I did) whether or not it gets played by 5 or more people is...

IGN - "As it stands, PlayStation's Move looks a much more accessible piece of hardware and the tech demos we've seen blew Kinect's flailing displays out of the water. Nintendo is still ahead of the game when it comes to motion sensing, and both Sony and Microsoft still have a long way to go to catch up, but so far Kinect seems like the lame donkey in the race."

Ouch IGN... lame donkey?!... ouch!

The multiplayer trpohies killed games like Killzone 2, Far Cry 2 and Little Big Planet for me, and had the effect of sapping all the motivation to get any trophies in those games because I knew I'd never get the platinum trophies.

Yeah developer need to stop with that $hit, it does not add longevity tot he game, it may actually do the opposite (in my case) as I knew it was unachievable and stopped playing most of those games as soon as the single player campaign was don...

I remeber well when I got my first PS3 with Rainbow6 Vegas and motorstorm. Trying to play them in SD was a nightmare. Needless to say I quickly bought a HDTV!

I think this is Sony's strategy for 3D as well, they'll gradually start having 3D games as standard and gamers will upgrade to take advantage of the full effect on their gaming. It parallels those PC gamers who have an 'elite' PC setup to maximise their gaming experiences.

Both Sony and Microsoft cannot compete with Nintendo on Price. I know a number of 'casual' Wii owners, and they have absolutely no intention of getting a PS3 or 360. these are hardcore gamer consoles. The people I know don't spend enough time using the Wii to justify the purchase of another console.

It will be Joe Shmo gamer that gets his dad to buy him a console for Christmas, and not Joe Shmo's mom that wants one!

The gaming landscape is very different now thanit was before the Wii.
The casuals all have a Wii and are by now jaded. why do you think the Wii has such a low attach rate?

It is the install base of the 360 and PS3 that will drive sales much more than the casual market.

More core PS3 owners are going to pick up Move than core 360 owners pick up Kinect. I just don't see the casuals jumping on this like they did the Wii. The Wii was a whole sys...

I've got 3 kids who enjoy gaming on the PS3 with games like Eyepet, LBP etc. So for me I envision 4 player gaming session with the kids. So this means I have to have 4 Move controllers at the least! Ouch! Needless to say I only pre-ordered 2 Move controllers and one NaviCon for now. We'll just have to take turns. I've already got the PSEye with the Eyepet bundle, so I'm left shelling out just for the controllers which came to £94.97, and that's before I've even bo...

I'll give you a shout about the event when I get back Sunday night (I've managed to hussel my way into both days with a friend, (he's my +1 on the Saturday, and I'm his +1 on the Sunday!). Killzone 3D and Motorstorm Apocalypse (3D) are my main attractions, although all the other Move stuff will be there as well. Here's hoping I win the Motorstorm tournament and nab myself the Sony Bravia 3DTV!!!!!

p.s. If Anton turns up (unlikely) I'll be over the fk...

I agreee with DJMArty, All the major TV manufacturers are developing 3D TV's, and so are TV providers such as SkyTV, Virgin Media etc. It is the movie industry that is pushing 3D, and it is only Sony that is really pushing 3D for games. 3D IS here to stay, it is the next mediatech evolution, we just have to accept that.

I would advise not to be an early adopter, because the tech will obviously go through a number of iterations in the first few years before it stabilises...

I know this is contrary to the thinking behind both Sony and Microsoft goign after the casual market, but hear me out...

I don't think motion control is a system seller, it's an add-on - and one that is not mandatory for either system. The early adopters who will really drive the sales numbers will be the people who already own these consoles, i.e. you and me!

The console landscape is not the same as it was before the Wii released! Casuals already...

@Labwarrior - I wonder why you've only got one bubble... is it because you FAIL?!

On topic, Sony's strategy is obviously working. They should thank the gamers and rabid fanboys who've made it all possible! Afterall without us, the consumer they'd have nothing... nothing I tells ya!

It's exactly why the 10 year plan is the best strategy, exactly because no one knows how the markets and industry will change. Why do you think this console generation has been one of the longest? It's because the risks of developing a new console are now much much higher especially after the great recession we have been having.

Sony have said their competitors will release their next gen consoles first. Why? Because unless those consules significantly out do what ...

Once Halo:Reach, Gears3, and Fable III release, what else will microsoft have to show in 2011. Agan Microsoft are lacking a good line-up of top quality original software. Microsoft's strategy to buying out exclusives has only taken them so far.

Bottom line, it is quality games software and original IP's that drive sales (you can't market games you don't have). What system has the best quality exclusives, what system has the biggest games line-up going forwar...
